Posted: 10/4/2009 2:54:46 PM | ^^^Yeah well it's true and you know it. In fact I know quite a few older women that even went completely apeshit over some job postions that they lost to the younger one's.
The older ones don't wanna feel left out, and of course they still wanna believe that they are part of the trend. | |

Posted: 10/4/2009 3:11:56 PM | Jacob, I'm still going to disagree with you on this one. I work for an attorney during the day and he would much rather have an older, more experienced assistant than one who stayed up too late partying the night before and couldn't make it into work.
If I didn't get a job based on the fact that I was older, well, I don't think I would enjoy working there in the first place.
And, yes, I would agree with you about not wanting to be left out, but I've never felt that way. My son is 19 and his friends love to hang out with me too. I'm on all of their Facebook and Myspace pages. I'm not trying to be 20 something again, I just enjoy their company and it keeps me involved in their lives which I truly enjoy. Young people are so great! They have so much to say and will tell you everything if you just have the time to listen. I enjoy being the "Mom" to so many, and it's a wonderful feeling. | |

Posted: 10/4/2009 3:25:52 PM | lovinlife....Well I guess it depends what kind of job we are talking about to. Which is why in my previous post I didn't say all of them.
But the main thing is as long as you enjoy their company and it keeps you involved, that's all that matters.
lol BTW not all younger ones stay up late while partying, well maybe alot do, but not all.. | |

And you're right, not all of them are like that. I work in the same building with a wonderful young woman who works her fanny off and makes it into work everyday on time. She's putting herself through school and has never been late to work. I bring her lunch from time to time when funds are a little low. I adore her. | |
