What I hear from the WWE columns is to have all the Wrestlers go back to what they use to their Originality.

Like Undertaker a Heel and Edge as a face.
Cena, Heel can be a great team with Orton

Mr Kennedy, Jericho, HBK, JBL, be top faces.

Don't have these Trades. Have Wrestlers change from Heel to face. Might make a Big Difference.

One thing I think is happening is alot of the market that belonged to WWE is now going to "Ultimate Fighting" ,UFC. Same with boxing. Really a sport that I think is strugglingl.

I think the UFC is cutting into the WWE, but not that much to the point where it's hurting the WWE. The UFC is still getting an avg of 1.4 rating with the Ultimate Fighter on Spike and 1.2 for the other shows UFC puts on Spike. Matter of fact the UFC's ratings have gone down on avg in the past couple years on avg. The Ultimate Fighter used to pull in a high 1.9 rating on avg but it's dropped down to a steady 1.5 rating the past couple of years. If the UFC went head to head against WWE RAW on Monday nights, the UFC would lose big by at least 2 million viewers and that's when RAW is only scoring a 3 in the ratings. Even though most americans 35 years or younger knows what the UFC, it still only appeals to a select group of people.

The WWE is it's own enemy when it comes ratings. Their product has been stale lately and people have tuned it out. If the WWE puts on a solid product, they end up becoming the highest rated show on cable TV on Monday nights by a margin of 3.2 million or more viewers next to the second highest ratings cable tv show that goes head to head with WWE RAW. I mean when you are scoring a an avg of 3.8 no regular cable TV show that's running in the same timeslot can come even close to you.

UFC may not get the high ratings, and although I haven't seen the buyrates in a long time... I recall they were KILLING WWE in the PPV market. Then again even if WWE booked solid feuds... it's hard to justify laying down 40 bucks every 3 weeks for a 2.5 hour show.

That's the problem with the WWE ppv's now, they are way too high for the avg user to pay for.

Soaps aren't entertainment? And don't fool yourself with labeling WWE as the male soap... you'd be surprised what high % of the Soap Fanbase is in fact male.

WWE PPVs are interesting. On one hand they have too many in a given year, thus no longer feel special. And most of the time nothing is really resolved or they end up giving us rematches on free TV. $40 is a big investment in something that is nothing more then extended Raw. Honestly, when was the last time any PPV was must see? It kills me when I see them advertising the next PPV DURING the actual PPV.

Some people think they should limit the #, but that's not gonna happen. Not everyone is gonna buy each one, but a certain amount seems to flock to each event and so cancelling them takes away money. Myself I wish they would stick with the big 4: RR, WM, SS, SS... heck throw in KOTR if you want for some true interbranding going. But since that won't, I'd just like 12 a year. I think they're getting towards that again since they quit the brand exclusive shows.

On a plus to everything, we get Jericho/HBK III next Sunday.

Pro Wrestling to me is acrobatic stuntment putting on a performance.

The WWE has lost touch with their meanings of PPV's. For starters there are way to many, there should only be 6 per year. Another thing is, they take what was once Great PPV's and degrade them to a show like KOTR. KOTR it used to be one of the WWE's top 5 PPV's behind Wrestlemaina, Summer Slam, Royal Rumble and Survivor Series and now it's reduced to garbage like what happened 2 weeks ago on RAW.

IIRC the reason they canned KOTR originally was because it was the lowest drawing of the big 5.

I don't think Rock or any other big name draw will do much for business. Rock is probably the only one who will pike interest, because Hogan and Austin... they've been there too much and really not a lot to give. Problem with Rock is he'd have to be back fulltime to have any lasting effect. People would tune in when he came back, but would tune right out when he left. Like they did originally.

Rock ain't coming back anyway. Not after dropping the last thread connecting him to wrestling...

Right now I've gone back to watching ECW. I'm not talking about that crap that comes on Tuesday nights. I'm talking about DVDs with matches from the mid-nineties. They knew how to build up matches like Taz vs. Sabu. Matches with barbed wire & tables were at least something different than storylines about Hornswaggle being McMahon's son. I rarely watch any of what WWE puts on tv now.

I drift in and out of what is happening on WWE these days and am watching my DVD's more. It's more show less wrestling I think. These days you wouldn't get a match like Shawn Michaels Vs. Bret Heart in a Last Man Standing Match. The wrestler's that are left aren't the Heros they used to be. Maybe that's why everyone is getting into UFC more.

ROH is very good, I have watched some PPV's on in demand and they are excellent. I wish they would get a TV show, but all what would happen is they would lose a ton of money and go out of business.

I personally believe WWE is a bit stale but, hey, they can afford to stagnate. The fact that WWE has no real competition allows for the same old storylines to be present month in and month out. Until there is another wrestling company that will pose a serious threat, WWE can and will present a seemingly stale product.

Now, I say "seemingly" because there are exceptions. For instance, the WWE Draft ( JR going to SmackDown and Michael Cole going to Raw), CM Punk winning the World Title and holding it for this long, Kofi Kingston winning the Intercontinental Championship, allowing Evan Bourne (Matt Sydal) to beat Chavo Guerrero, and not having Cena as the main champion for nearly a year.

There are more examples such as presenting Batista vs John Cena, but, that seems to have been rushed too fast. The fact is WWE is not going to pull out all the stops and wrestling will not be "Attitude Era" interesting until there is a legitimate opposition.

And about Ring Of Honor, I saw their first PPV, "Respect is Earned," and was disappointed. Perhaps it is my viewing of WWE for such a long time, but, the matches incorporated little in-ring psychology. What I saw in every match was false finish after false finish. For me, that took away the excitement and left me with the impression that ROH matches are very unrealistic (in wrestling terms).

I could mention TNA but, I have neither the time, nor the interest in evaluating the pros and cons of that company right now.

The WWE has had crappy storyline after crappy storyline....I mean my GOD!!! When will the crapfest end? Now they have Freddie Prinze Jr as writer now? You know when McMahon is desperate for ratings when you bring in a "B" Actor to try and clean up after the children....hell, if not for Edge, Randy Orton, Shelton Benjamin (Push), John Morrison (Next Shawn Michaels), The Hardys (Push Jeff Again) and guys to keep an eye on like Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase Jr, Kofi Kingston...I seriously could care less about the WWE right now.

I stopped watching long ago, used to be the best during the 90's and around 2001. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Disel, Razor Ramone, good memories. Still a couple guys left but also many of them went to Jarrets wrestling organization.

Hey you would not last 30 seconds in a ring, even predetermined. I would like to see you survive the constant travel, the politics, and everything else that goes with being in the business. Even though worked, there is constant injuries, go tell Kurt Angle that, he would tap you out within 5 seconds.

Considering their size I would expect to get knocked out within five seconds but it is still ACTING whether you like it or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WWE isn't even on the same page as the UFC
You gonna tell me that a guy like Hulk Hogan who is 6'7" and probably over 300 lbs can jump from the top of the ropes and land on a guys head and yet the guy gets up to continue the match get real !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even if the guy wore a football helmet that guy would probably be knocked out cold for a week .
another example : lets take Hulk Hogan again (only because I dont know any other wrestlers lol) now you would have me believe that Hogan can Punch a guy in the head with no gloves and the other guy stands there like he's semi conscious another joke lol that's like telling me Mohammad Ali couldn't knock out anyone from the street without gloves.
Seriously are you that blind or are you so much of a fan that you somehow cant see that the WWE is phony as hell.
Sure these wrestlers are huge its part of the entertainment (even if I dont see it as such) but to tell me that these guys go around knocking each other in the head without getting knocked out cold is ludicrous its acting plain and simple
Injuries ? like what, oh I guess they could get the odd strain or welt or even some stitches now and then but I have never heard of a wrestler get his ligaments torn out from his knee or something more serious considering the way they jump around the ring. they are glorified stunt men that happen to be on the big side but nothing more
as for the politics who really cares about that side of the sport there s politics and traveling in every sport but at least most sports are real unlike wrestling!!!!! take football for example people risk there limbs in football just last night in the Houston vs Dallas a guy breaks 2 vertebra in his neck and he is very lucking he still walks for there is no damage to his spinal cord.
Boxing is another example where a boxer has died in the ring from brain damage its very sad but these are the risks of real sports They dont die from being lowered into a ring by a rope like that other wrestler did that was a stunt that went very wrong and just as tragic but it had nothing to do with the actual wrestling if you want to call it that.
Sorry buddy but wrestling doesnt cut it as a sport in my books it's fake from the minute they step into the ring. Like it or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comparing the UFC to the WWE is like comapring an Apple to an Orange. One is real and the other one is scripted.

Are you serious? There have been plenty of professional wrestlers that have gotten serously injured due to either botched moves or something in their body gave out on them due to too much wear and tare over the years. Don't believe me? Here is just a very few on many injuries that has happened in pro wrestling.

Stone Cold Steve Austin: Broken Neck

Rhyno: Broken Neck

Gregory Helms: Broken Neck

Ken Kennedy: Torn Labrum

Sid Vicious: Shattered Ankle

Goldberg: Torn forearm

Hulk Hogan: Torn kneecap

Triple H: Torn ACL

Kevin Nash: Torn ACL

Scott Steiner: Torn ACL

Vince McMahon: Torn ACL

The fact remains that nobody who starts a career in wrestling, ever escapes unharmed.

And so what, you can compare football to wrestling they are both phyical. Plus you aren't making sense there are plenty of football players that do high risking stunts to go beyond the norm and try to either pick up an extra yard or even show off.

Yeah Ive seen neck braces on some wrestlers and next week they are in the ring
Of all these broken necks how many are paralysed from either the neck or waist down?
I dont follow wrestling but I have yet to hear of any ex wrestler now in a wheel chair for life.
And if there are that many in wheel chairs then why haven't I heard about them or why haven't they enforced newer rules to tame the sport down like boxing and football.
Sorry I still consider it part of the act why in hell would a wrestler be in a neck brace one week only to be wrestling the next and dont tell me this hasn't happened I've seen it .

What is beyond the norm of trying to pick up an extra yard ??? football is a game of inches. Hell even I have tried to jump over a wall of players to get a touch down or an extra yard!! Its what the game is all about. I will admit you do feel rather over protected with all the padding you wear and it can give you the error of feeling invincible but the thought of breaking your neck doesn't cross your mind if it did you wouldn't be able to concentrate on the game.
The only showing off in football is if you make a great play other wise you would look rather stupid showing off for nothing, specially if you got injured doing it.

Personally I have nothing against you people that love your wrestling sport , who am I to argue what you watch for entertainment. ! But to watch 6' 7" 300 lb man punch a guy in the head with his bare hand and the other guy is still standing then something is amiss ( even I can admit that there are fights in boxing that may be fixed to set up a rematch )
Come on now ............not all is real specially with WWE It maybe fun for you guys to watch but be honest here My only point here is that Its not just scripted a lot of it is just plain Fake!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are a few guys this size in the NFL and they have banned the head slap because of the severity and amount of concussions sustained from this sort of technique used by defensive lineman
These guys are wearing helmuts and get concussins could you imagine if you got punched in the side of the head without a helmut. Seriously now.

Droz, a former WWE wrestler is permanently paralyzed from the neck down due to a botched pile driver. That's one example right there.

They have enforced many new rules. Companies like TNA and the WWE for example don't do pile driver moves anymore due to so many neck and spinal injuries that have occurred from this move.

Boxing is more tamed? More fighters suffer permanent brain damage in Professional Boxing then any other sport, because of lack of head gear that they still don't enforce with Professional boxing.

You're not understanding the diff between a legit injury and a storyline injury. In professional wrestling they have legit injuries where the wrestler is legitimately hurt and is out of action. Then you have storyline injuries that pertain to an injury based in a storyline.

Ok, what is the diff between a football player going beyond the norm and picking up the extra yard and risking injury to help insure his financial security within a team and a wrestler going beyond the norm and doing a stunt risking injury to help insure his financial security with the company? Nothing, because they are both based on performance. The wrestler has to perform at a certain level to keep his job just like the football player has to do.

If wrestling was fake, then no one would get hurt. There is a difference between something being phyically scripted and something being fake. Video games are fake. Wrestlers are stuntmen actors and you wouldn't call a movie stuntmen's job fake. Wrestlers follow under the same lines of a movie stuntman.

Yeah. I remember (well I persoanlly don't I wasn't around at that time), when pro wrestling was real by watching some old films. Everything just about was legal, punchs, kicks, chokes, holds etc. I mean, it was pretty much like the MMA of its time, up until the 50's When TV started becoming popular that's when pro wrestling started getting scripted. Network TV's wouldn't show it unless it became more tame and that's when wrestling companies started putting gimmicks and storylines in pro wrestling.
