| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 4/19/2008 7:33:48 PM | | If you were ok with it you wouldn't have to ask....I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you don't break the laws of your state... | |

| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 4/19/2008 7:34:01 PM | Geez Louise.... what a lot of unbelievable opinions. But OP - they are just that - opinions!
Make up your own mind - and if you are really unsure - talk to her about it. Then talk to her dad!

| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 4/21/2008 3:23:45 PM | think all you ppl making replys about my sense have alot less sense then I do, check the laws. Honestly from the girls I've dated around my age they sure to seem to have the maturity level of a rock. They all of a bunch of dramatic relationship B.S. I've been around internet so long that I know that when a girl ask if you've got a myspace a red flag goes up right away.
Didn't even go on date with that girl, it was just a question to spark my curiosity and opinions. I would've though and it would have been just a DATE! Thats It!!

| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 4/21/2008 3:42:40 PM | Uh oh cradle robber>>>>>>>>sorry guy, you need to date someone over 18. | |
|
| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 4/21/2008 7:41:15 PM | | Pretty much all 17-18 year old girls date guys in their 20's. Why shouldn't you be one of them? Do you think when you are middle aged, balding and fat you'll be thinking "I'm so glad I didn't go out with that smokin hot 17 year old". No, I don't think so. On the other hand, the guys that did will be thinking about it on their death beds with big smiles on their faces! | |

| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 4/21/2008 7:56:49 PM | | 17 is to young really i think 18 mite be to young !!! if you 2 really like each other you should wait the two months !! | |
|
| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 4/21/2008 8:07:47 PM | For a long time I avoided going out with girls younger than myself because I was worried what other people would think. Meanwhile all the girls my own age were dating guys older than me and all my friends were dating girls younger than them. I was single and miserable, wasting the best years of my life and what for? Its BS, life is for living, if you don't date her somebody esle will.
Also the age of consent in Tx is 17. The federal age of consent is 16 and only 13 states have the age of 18!

Too young for what? Going to the movies? Going for a walk? Going to dinner?
The guy said he's Christian and not interested in sex. I really don't see the problem!

Which means do it no worries about illegal then.......Which is the argument of about 80% of the posts......and anyways like I said before if it was a 17 year old boy with a 24 year old woman it wouldn't be an issue....... morality isn't really an issue it isn't like your 40 or something......no offense to the 40 year olds btw........I mean I don't get the whole 6 or 7 years no big deal when your 30 + thing.......whats the difference.....I mean who cares. If she was 16 or under I can see that which is just wrong.....but number one its not illegal in your state number 2 if it was you could wait 2 months and then no problems people just freak out when they see 17 and didn't even read the entire OP shesh......... I hope you have a daughter eventually and when SHE turns 17 she starts dating a 24 year old. When that happens, come back and tell us the same sh*t.
Anyway, OP, if it isn't such a big deal, wait the 2 months till she turns 18. If you are so friendless that you can't find someone to go to the movies with till then you have bigger problems.
If you have to question if you should be doing something, odds are you shouldn't be doing it anyway.

I probably wouldn't mind because a 24 year old may or may not be more mature as a man but most of the time a 24 year old is more mature than a 17 year old. So yes I would let her.
Best of luck to you to you and everyone

| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 5/18/2008 9:19:14 PM | Ha! Had to bump it yea, no connection to 17-18 year old girls normally anyways. And honestly most girls 19 - mid twenties are just about getting drunk and going to clubs. If girls slurrin shes not remotely attractive.
Anyways that girl has bf now who is like 25 lol

AGE IS NOTHING BUT A NUMBER :D
And the number will be what a judge gives you.
What's wrong with the women your age? They know you too well?

| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 5/29/2008 6:35:12 PM | | 24m dating a 17 f..... you should date a girl thats old enough to drink, buy her own smokes, you wanna be able to take her out but shes not old enough to get in anywhere, unless she has a good fake id does it not feel akward knowing you cant take her out for drinks, ect?? im sure you get the point, but if that doesnt bother you, if you like buying her smokes and booze then go for it! l hope it works out, but just keep in mind you to are most likely on different pages and it will come out sooner then later hopefully! | |

| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 5/29/2008 6:53:34 PM | | In some states it's legal in others it isn't. I wouldn't risk the Jail time. Not just the jail time, but you may be labelled as a sex offender for the rest of your life. Is it worth it ? To me it isn't. | |
|
| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 5/29/2008 7:06:36 PM | LOL one more month and this conversation is over. Or at least the ones that cry 17 isn't old enough but 18 is. Hahaha.
I love it.
But the real question is that would the opinion be the same if it was a 24f with a 17m. Um oh yeah I have a post about that and people say that it would be. But not the same ones on here. So I re-post the question?
Best of luck to everyone

| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 5/30/2008 2:45:26 AM | Are you going to be her prom date? Give me a freaking break!!!
I"m sorry, but I'm going to state something here. Men who target teenage girls, especially at your age are in my opinion men who are controllers. I find it absolutely disgusting grown men hitting on teenage girls, it's hits close to home in my eyes of being a pedophile, same with women who perform this as well.
Why would a man target a teenage girl? Well....let's see...she can't go out with you to the bars.....she is more than likely too immature intellectually....so it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that it's all about sex, and men or women who perform this are sick perverts and they literally make me sick...where are the parents with these situations? Any man/woman who does this has no morals and I as a parent would not allow anyone who agrees with this situation around my children.
lol she came over tonight watch bit of a movie that was it dunno what yall thought i was trying to rob.
It's OBVIOUS what you are trying to rob.

| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 5/30/2008 3:00:37 AM | | i really don't see what the big deal is with this age matter. it is LEGAL for him to have SEX with her. she is NOT jailbait. with that being said, if he is within the eyes of the law, then there should be nothing wrong with it. it's not like he's a 50 year old man, he's only 24. it's not that big of a deal, and the age gap isn't too great. i'm 26, so i probably wouldn't want to date a 17 year old, but i'd date a 20 year old, and wouldn't think twice about morals or ethics if i liked the girl. it's 6 years difference. i would also date a 32 year old w/out having a problem with it. i don't agree with the whole "age is just a number" thing, but i do agree with, "they aren't that far apart" mentality. age is a number, and if he were twice his age, i'd have a problem with it. even 5 years older. but at his age, and her age, there really shouldn't be that much of a difference. if anything, younger guys are probably worse than guys his age, because while he *may* want to get laid, you know exactly what 17 and 18 year olds are thinking. is she too young to have sex? her state law says she is. so it is her choice to date whoever she wants, no matter how old they are. hopefully her parents have raised her in a somewhat decent way, so that she doesn't go around dating 30 and 40 year olds... but its ultimately her choice, and his. everybody here who is judging him with their "morals" and whatnot can do that... but you guys are borderline insulting, and in some cases very insulting, and i just don't see how that is any less immature than how immature you claim he might be. | |

So, I have a question. It is at the bottom, but I have provided some background information.
I recently turned 22, and my roommate is 19. I have friends and acquaintances ranging from 17-32.We are both college students, but we go to different schools in the area. We've been friends for a several years, and as one might imagine I meet a few younger people through him without really putting myself out there for it. His girlfriend is 17. She's finishing up the same year of college he is, and out of all of the girls I've seen him date between 18-22 I'd have to say she's probably the first I really approve of as his friend.
Now, one of her friends, also 17, has been trying to get my number. I've met her in a group setting a few times, but I have never hit on her or said much to her. I have my eyes on someone else at the moment, so it is moot. However, who is being targeted here?

| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 5/30/2008 6:18:32 AM | To OP I was 17 when I met my husband. He was 23. Mydaughter was 17 when she met her future husband. He was 24. Things worked out well both times. I dont see what the big deal is, if both are comfortable with the age difference. Of course we were both mature for 17, that helps I guess. Age is a number. If your ok with it and she is ok with it, I think thats all that matters | |
|
| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 5/30/2008 6:30:15 AM | I dont think there is anything wrong with that at all... I mean I am 21, but someone who is 5/6 years older than me would in my eyes be more on my wavelength that a lot of people my age... I have always been a mature lass and I do find that with exception to a few people I do get on with older people. If the girl decides she wants to date someone who is 7 years older than it is her choice... I have a friend who is 27 this year and has been dating his 18 year old girlfriend for 3 years... granted the way they met was a very screwed up affair... but when you see them together you can see that they are so very happy together... I wouldnt plan to date someone more than 10 years older than me... but its down to choice... never say never... that person could be your soul mate...
Im gonna shut up now coz im waffeling
|
| 24m goin on date with 17f Posted: 5/30/2008 6:32:30 AM | | I know will get s*** for this, but a long time ago, I met a girl who just became 17 when I was about 24 and dated her and when I was living around in So. Calif. She was living away from her mom on an uncle's property (business) and had a 6 month old baby girl at the time. What else happened I will not say. We stopped dating due to personal differences, not legal reasons. | |
