| Do Introverted / Indoorsy Women Go On Dating Sites ? Posted: 4/13/2008 9:04:22 AM | I'm alone a lot too...in the sense that I am with my family(mom, dad, siblings, daughter)and I am not out takin' on wild adventures ...maybe I should, might meet the one, huh?
Women are all over...inside and outside....just don't go knocking on doors, Poster, asking if the ladies of the house are homebodies and would like to date!!

I hate outdoorsy stuff like camping
...its like the ultimate ethereal earth experience.
To you perhaps. Yup...you're right. Its easy to see in our descriptions what we value. I was talking sensory experiences...you were talking creature comforts.
Im just as comfortable at a resort. I just dont wanna do that all the time.
It would be a boring world if we all liked the same things. It would be boring doing the same old thing every vacation. JMHO

| Do Introverted / Indoorsy Women Go On Dating Sites ? Posted: 4/13/2008 10:08:21 AM | I'm one. And here I am.
I'm not completely indoorsy, mind you. I do like to camp. Swimming and skating are my favorites, which do require both extremes of the seasons, but I guess you'd say I am a season-dependent indoors/outdoors woman.
Introverted is definitely me. I'm not too terribly shy, but I am one of those people pleased as punch with my own company.

| Do Introverted / Indoorsy Women Go On Dating Sites ? Posted: 4/13/2008 2:36:21 PM | I think what I was really getting at is that people tend to talk about what they like to do once-- a few times a year (camping, go to the beach, etc.) and tend to pass by what they like to do on a day to day basis . There's almost always generalizations in these posts... I did it too. | |

| Do Introverted / Indoorsy Women Go On Dating Sites ? Posted: 4/13/2008 2:58:05 PM | I find it bothersome since really im a bookish, introverted type. Yet if you don't say you like athletic stuff no one seems to write to you. I think a lot of women are lying too but even the ones that are lying about being athletic don't seem to grab you for saying you love to read and all that.
It's really weird. Almost like someone shooting themself in the foot and shooting other people too....
Why can't people overcome what gives social status to the whole and appreciate themselves on their own merits....

I agree. There seems to be this universal 'yick' against people who enjoy reading and discussion and such bookish things. I think I've convinced myself to only date people who read willingly. ;) I think no one else can really appreciate my thought processes.
But I wouldn't call myself 'indoorsy'. Given a choice, I'd rather be outside on a sunny day, but I won't be playing soccer. I'd be taking a walk or reading in the park or some such low-key activity.
Where are the lovely 'indoorsy' guys? I like them best. *pouts*

| Do Introverted / Indoorsy Women Go On Dating Sites ? Posted: 4/13/2008 3:57:24 PM | It's nice to see some awcknowledgement on this.
Anyways I don't think im indoorsy either. I love going for long walks, bike riding and other things.
The past few years though especially when I worked nights I started going out a lot less. I find theres sometimes no reason too and I started delving more into books and reading online after that. Especially since sometimes going out turns into buying more stuff which I don't really need. I'm usually on my feet a lot at work to so thats part of it.
Anyways it's weird sometimes you lose some confidence thinking people will expect that your going out all the time. Which in turn makes you cool and fun etc. Sorry but sometimes I don't feel like going outside or have no reason to. Etc.
I suppose I need to though. I love reading a lot of stuff online and learning about different things. It gets addictive sometimes.
I was going to not partake in the forums but I feel it helps me let out some emotions from being on here for a long time and all that.
Today I guess I could be active but I instead spent all of my Sunday online and chatting on here. Weird that. I wish people appreciated my nerdyness.
Oh and honestly I am a very family oriented person. Sometimes I like spending time with people like my brother and other family members than always going out. Plus I find that most people end up being short on money if they have too many partys and events to go to.

| Do Introverted / Indoorsy Women Go On Dating Sites ? Posted: 5/1/2008 11:38:13 PM | | I'm in the same boat. I'm the most introverted person I know so I don't even bother with trying to find a date or relationship. If it happens, great, but I don't think it's worth all the stuff a hardliner introvert would have to go through. | |

| Do Introverted / Indoorsy Women Go On Dating Sites ? Posted: 5/9/2008 7:51:42 AM | I always thought that most liked to hang out and be low key some of the time, which is why they don't list it.
I also think (maybe by myself, I know) to stay in and relax usually means don't want company, or you'd go out - so why mention it? I like to stay home, but it's when I'm deliberateyl being antisocial. I'd hate to have anyone mistake that for an invitation.
I agree with the posters who said introverts don't necessarily stay home all the time and extroverts aren't necessarily "outdoorsy".

Posted: 5/9/2008 1:51:42 PM | | Well...count me in the camp of liking both sides as well...I list "outdoor activities" right up there with "reading, writing and listening to music". I LOVE camping...I've hiked the Appalachian Trail, I play softball..love to play wolleyball (yes, with a "w")...but also totally get into down time with a great book.

| Do Introverted / Indoorsy Women Go On Dating Sites ? Posted: 5/15/2008 1:47:53 PM | Very interesting post. I'm a total loner myself, and I prefer to stay at home and do things on my own, and I have always wanted to meet a girl online who was similar. I don't like going out for drinks, nor restaurants, and also hate places like clubs. I mean I don't want to have a partner who expects me to socialise with their friends or go out to lots of tiresome places etc. I also wouldn't want to have continually justify this, and I think having a partner who is similar minded would be much more appealing.
I do wonder if they exist on here too? All I read on every profile " I love to go out and have a great time"

| Do Introverted / Indoorsy Women Go On Dating Sites ? Posted: 5/15/2008 4:59:57 PM | | I would love to meet a woman that wants to stay home ,be together, be alone with each other, watch a crappy movie and know if its boring we are there together, whats wrong with that??????? | |

| Do Introverted / Indoorsy Women Go On Dating Sites ? Posted: 5/15/2008 5:14:52 PM | My profile states I am not a camper or hiker. I love the outdoors but in small doses usually looking out from a cabin in the woods with a glass of wine in my hand. I love reading, gardening and dancing. And I am introverted which means I love meeting people but also need time to gather in when I have been active out in the world. I have no need to write what I think a man needs to see/hear and would not be interested in a fellow who hiked, biked or camped and wanted a companion for those activities. So here is an introvert on POF. I imagine there are a lot of us out here... | |

It seriously seems like ALL female ads talk about being so adventurous, outdoorsy, etc. This is a joke right? Almost all the ads I read, it seems like women only like to "watch movies" (and usually at home). I'd love to find some outdoorsy women.

I think what I was really getting at is that people tend to talk about what they like to do once-- a few times a year (camping, go to the beach, etc.) and tend to pass by what they like to do on a day to day basis .
I personally find it hard to fit in the stuff I like to do on a daily basis. What with working 8 hours of the day and all. None or 10 hrs if you add commute time into that.
I am happy to go out gallivanting on weekends. Be that shopping or camping or whatever, but generally what we like to do simply can't get done as often as we'd like with jobs, kids and all that responsibility junk.
I'm pretty lucky... 2 of my favorite things, as I mentioned... swimming or skating are pretty easy to do anytime.. even with working all day long. And reading... well, I love that too and that's what my commute is for.
