| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/9/2008 9:51:54 AM | Portugal are my favourite together with Germany and Italy.
not only Portugal have Ronaldo but Pepe as well. before having signed up for Real Madrid he was an unknown defender, but the other day he showed his great class, let us hope that injuries do not come upon him. a future world class footballer he may be.
as for those who think that my country Spain are the best, well are you joking? last week we played a friendly match against the United States National team, and our perfomance was terrible and bad. our press/media thought that it was going to be like a warm up, you know, no-one takes the US National Team seriously, no-one save for me i would say. during the game americans were like a pain in the a$$, and they really showed that they know how to play.
therefore, if our perfomances in the Euro are similar, then we are doomed to be molested by anyone

There are days Pedro you seem to disappointment me, but then there are days I may consider you my best friend.

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/9/2008 11:54:54 AM | Portugal have always been powerful, with great players like Figo, Deco, Rui Costa, Eusebio, etcccccccccc
how long will it take them to be part again of the kingdom of Spain, as in medieval times? you know, the Iberian Peninsula united at last

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/9/2008 6:06:06 PM | A great performance by Holland to win 3-0 against Italy last night.......
The world cup winners were awful and some of their defending was embarrassing.
As for the French it was very poor to only draw 0-0 against Romania...... If they want to progress from the group of death they will have to win their next game.

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/10/2008 12:21:46 AM | Yeah, i think the Netherlands totally outplayed Italy. Their counter-attack was just breath-taking (that is what we call total football, it was just like watching a playstation football exhibition!) Considering the fact that players like Robben and Babel didn't play, one can only imagine!
Looking forward to Spain and Russia, reckon that would be another cracking display...the likes of iniesta, xavi, villa and torres. (oh i even forgot to mention Fabregas...what a squad!)

Yeah I bet the Germans were pissing themselves watching that one!! Italy were in my opinion the only team that could probably have seriously stopped the Germans from winning the tournament again.
France have too many old players. Holland ALWAYS implode & have infighting in the camp. Italy will find it hard to recover from getting beaten 3-0 1st game...especially now they have to play France who have to win as well. The Portugese team might make the final but I see them falling short again (hopefully with a Ronaldo penalty miss). Spain perennial under-achievers & will make 2nd round but no further.
Dark horse bet for me would be Sweden....very under-estimated strike force with Ibrahimovic upfront & strong defensively with the likes of Mellberg, Edman etc.....

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/10/2008 5:01:06 AM | | Italy were RUBBISH...the lack of pace and invention was frightening. I'm sorry, but thinking back now to another thread where people wanted almost half of the best 11 in the world to be Italians currently playing in Serie A...hopefully that will wake a few people up. That was the AC Milan mid-field last night...and I read on another post that AC Milan are the best team on the planet...OBVIOUSLY not the case. Italian football BADLY needs new blood...where are the great new players the right side of 30. Italy is one of the all time great footballing nations, very very sad to watch that kind of decline. | |

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/10/2008 11:31:29 AM | Spain (EspaƱa) have just defeated Russia 4-1. well we have showed good football. last week our perfomance against USA during a friendly game was terrible. Villa is one of our best players. sadly Torres has not scored but it will come.
anyway, i watched Holland against Italy, and may i add the Italians were rubbish and only they played 'well' in the last minutes, just when they had already been molested by the 'orange'. however, Italy are the best at lifting trophies even playing horrible, you know, there are many World Cups to prove it.
Portugal, Germany, Italy and Holland are really the only ones with chances to win the Cup

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/10/2008 11:54:07 AM | Why are you so negative about Spain my intuition has never let me down and for the final it is Spain v Portugal or Spain v Germany maybe a last minute shock with Holland | |
|
| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/10/2008 12:35:52 PM | i am negative upon Spain because i am a Spaniard, from the southeast to be more exact | |

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/11/2008 11:00:51 AM | Czech Republic were certainly roughing up Portugal throughout the game, but could not execute. Ricardo is an awesome goalie no doubt. They also got clumsy near the end of the game with Portugal's free kick to make it 3-1. Let's go Portugal!!!
