| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/11/2008 1:23:05 PM | | Wiz..Rumor has it Scolari is leaving the Portugese National side to manage Chelsea next season. Rumor also has it that Chelsea will have some huge signings in the near future& wont be losing any big name players if Scolari comes aboard. Sorry for the rest of the EPL..I wonder if Ronaldo is anchored at Man U? | |

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/11/2008 7:30:02 PM | I guess he is going to be the next coach for Chelsea.
I knew Scolari was going to leave after he signed right after the WC for another two more years with Portugal.
The Portuguese media have been hounding him on the way Portugal qualified in the Euro Cup. However right now the way they have played in the last two games I suspecting they love him right now.
There were rumors several years back that Mourinho was interested, but I don't think so now since he signed with Milan.

I have to revise this, I meant there were rumors Mourinho wanted to coach for Portugal.

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/12/2008 11:31:55 AM | Scolari have signed up with Chelsea.
let's see, is it good or bad? well he might think that it is a forward step into his career, however, i disagree. Chelsea are not really what i think of a real football club in England, i mean, all English clubs establised during the middle and at the end of the 19th century, so London based people already rooted for many older clubs when Chelsea were establised in the 20th century.
in fact i have heard many times that they can not manage to sell out the Bridge during the league season, only during the European Cup they are able to do it.
if i were Scolari i would have preferred to stay in Portugal.

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/12/2008 11:39:28 AM | | Its a good thing in the sense that Scolari is used to working with teams in short spans of time & achieving succes....its a bad thing in the respect that he hates press attention & he will be constantly hounded in this country. | |

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/12/2008 12:00:21 PM | Even £7.2 million wouldn't tempt you guys then eh?
I think Scolari is very confident Portugal will go all the way this time round however....the guy aint a quitter & most definitely a winner & I would doubt that he would turn away unless he had achieved what he had wanted to.

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/14/2008 12:52:24 PM | Holland vs France, Robben's goal... Robben has shown how fantastic he can be when fit! His goal was just a classic, guess this justifies why i would name Robben in my 'world 11 in football'.
Spain is doing good so far, deserved the victory against sweden. Tougher games are to come though, but i just hope they keep the momentum going. Holland looks unbeatable!

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/14/2008 3:40:26 PM | Spain played like absolute garbage today. They didn't deserve the win, but luckily the long pass ate Hansen alive and Villa has recovered his old goal scoring touch before Valencia took a dive. (And that is coming from an adopted Spaniard, so it's not a knock against La Furia)
Holland are playing absolute Brilliantly. I can´t remember seeing a team play football like that. Their counter attack is something to behold. Truly.
I´ll tell you what, Italy are looking terrible. Roberto Donadoni better be looking for a job sometime soon, or Domanech, if France get the boot.
VIVA ESPAÑA!!!
A POR ELLOS OÉ!! | |

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/14/2008 3:42:04 PM | Ronaldo won't go anywhere. Don't listen to the Spanish press. I've lived there long enough to not listen to anything Marca says. Take it with the same truth that you look at the Weekly World News with. Especially when the UFO's abduct some new victims.
Will he go in the future? Sure. Will he go now? Probably not.

Mate, the crater faced little diving cheat **stard (I love him really) is gone. He's a brand name in much the same way Beckham was to United only worth 5 times as much. Fergie & the United board spin it out, play the game call it what you will to make him not want to go for footballing reasons but Ronaldo WANTS to go...he has not at 1 point said...fuk off madrid...£300k a week...don't want it...he's wanted to play there ever since child birth if you look at his career history. Madrid know they will probably only equal his wages in terms of merchandising if not a touch more...but only if & it is a very very big IF Ronaldo performs there.
I think he will go, for an obscene (Man U rubbing hands) sum to Madrid & fail..great players are only great around great teams. Fergie once again has built that at Man U & although in the short term he's a big loss...Man U still have way too much for most teams to think he needs to be hung on to.

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/15/2008 6:10:47 AM | at gambitero,
so no-one should listen to what Marca (our most important sporting newspaper) say? well let me remind you that everything they say is true, they have links to everywhere, they know everything that moves into the world of football. let me remind you again that it was them who announced that David Beckham would play for Madrid, and no-one believed it.............the same with Zidane leaving Juventus and joining Madrid, the same with Figo...............and many others.
now it is Ronaldo's turn, and if those journalists of Marca say he will move it is because they have real sources, sources that you and me know knothing about.
by the way, where does your name come from? i mean, does it have something to do with 'gamba' (prawn)?

| euro 2008 who will win it? Posted: 6/15/2008 12:51:31 PM | I remember when MARCA had it plastered all over that Alves was gone to Chelsea...and that didnt happen.
Or when Poulsen was 'signed' by Barcelona, and in a press conference, Poulsen said''HUH??'
I go my a set of three's in Spain. If AS, MARCA and SPORT all have it, then its normally true. I trust SPORT the least out of the three.
It's not that I don't believe it, but it just gets too much. First he says no, then MARCA says yes, then they talk to his mom, his dog, his stepfather, mailman, etc.
When it happens, and they show him in the kit, then I believe it. Until then, I don't.
And 'gambitero' was just from 'La Hora Chanante' its a word 'muy de pueblo' and they use it in contexts of a big partier 'alguien que le gusta la marcha, juerga total, etc.'
