Seems as if Italy is going to be out if they don't beat France and Romania ties or loses. If that's the case, then I'm pulling for Spain to win.

Have to say hats off to Turkey what a comeback that was!!

Cech must be gutted. What was happening with that sending off? Koller the big jessie...& if he's been pushed in the area & the keeper's gone off why wasn't it a penalty???!!!!

Good night to get a decent kebab I reckon.

Who or which idiots put Portugal at 8-1??

They are the favorites, mind you some other top seeds just got knocked off. Just imagine if France and Italy tie they are both toast but at least one of them is gone anyways.

8-1 think about it Ronaldo and Ricardo you don't care about game 3 and rest 8 players including your goalie and still wind up first in your division Port all the way. I cheer for England but Portugal is my next team as Ronaldo plays for Man U.

Whoever wins we have no repeat champion, it's never happened and wont this time either Greece is toast.

The Czech game was wild the last 15 mins was nuts but I'm glad turkey got in and netted me $28 thousand. on a $20 bet.

Because the ball was not in play and so it's not a foul, just ungentlemanly conduct.

helluva match... hate to see someone like cech be the goat, he's top 2 or 3 in the world in my book, and from all I can see a class guy. but turkey deserved it, they pressed like no team I can remember the entire 2nd half, hats off to them.

wohoooo sarcastic is back.As well as spain and holland are playing i think when they come up against "lesser" teams such as portugal and croatia they feel like all they have to do is turn up to win unlike when holland destroyed italy and france.so far bother portugal [not including last match as EIGHT were rested] and as i said at the start of this thread all those weeks ago i really fancy croatia to win it

at gambitero,

maybe your name comes from some Latin America country as i have never heard it here in Spain. when it comes to someone 'que le gusta la marcha, juerga, etc' we use the term 'fiestero' or 'juerguista'.

well returning to Marca, i never said that they are the wisest in the world, nor did i say they are the truth-bearer. but most of what they say is true.

let us see, they say that Ronaldo wants to play for Madrid, and that is a fact! they say that he has told his family that he wants to leave Man United, and that is a fact! now you know that he has contract, so it is Man United who have the last word upon the affair.

Well, gambitero is just a made up word. It really doesn't mean anything outside of people who have seen 'La Hora Chanante' which aren't many and it doesn't get used outside of my group of friends.

Actually, I'm a Sevillista and I am one of the founding members of the only Sevilla Peña that exists in the United States, Peña Sevillista Puerta de America.

I'm not a cule, even though I speak Catalan =)

Sevilla or Seville in english.

well they are a great team, and have the best and most loyal supporters in Spain together with those of Atletico de Madrid.

i did not know that there is a peña in the US supporting them, you know, only big clubs such as Real Madrid or Barcelona have peñas overseas.

note that the word 'peña' is Spanish, and i do not really know the translation into English

Well thank god Italy won.
Stressed to the max.

Italy V Spain in the knock out stage now.
A very intertesting match up

Tough break for Romania but ah well.

France have been horrid.
Domenech has to be sacked, they would be insane not to.

Damn I show wish I had bet on the netherlands before the tourny, I was so tempted! Was also tempted to bet a pound on austria, saw 1/250 odds on them lol :) I want holland to win because of the way they have played so far and they have showed real desire to win.

Can't believe italy still made it through after two fairly poor performances against holland and romania, I almost wish romania had made it through, because they gave it their best shot. And Mutu is a legend.

I don't worry about translating or about spelling Sevilla. I'm fluent in both Spanish and English, so it doesn't matter to me.

Peña in English is really called a 'supporters group'. That is about as close as you are going to get for a good translation.

Now that the real games begin "NOONE" will be resting players anymore and I get my wish although I wanted germany out we'll take care of them, I placed a $5000 canadian bet on portugal to win I got 3-1 odds, somehow germany is favored 2-1 which makes no sense at all to me as portugal and spain are the best teams in europe and have the best players.

Germany and Italy are both screwed in their next matches and will be sent home with a real bitter taste to think about for quite a while. Off topic for a discussion what do people think about Brazil trying to qualify for the world cup, they are in a little bit of **** after their last game they need to win their last 3 games and the next one is archrival argentina.

Paragauy won 2-0 over Brazil

Enjoy the euros everyone, may the best teams win that of course being portugal or spain and France haha you suck now.

I thought France would have it but after today's performance, I guess not. I have a feeling it's going to be the Dutch this time around.

Germany have won the tournament 3 times before in the past & have a habit of winning when they are playing at their worst....getting to the 2000 World Cup final when they weren't really fancied is prime example of that. I still think Portugal will end up choking at the crucial time, temperament of the team isn't great when they are put under pressure.

Spain v Italy looks the pick of the Quarter Finals, can't wait for that one as that will be a real test for the Spaniards. Italy did look good against a very very poor French side last night so its difficult to gauge. Their 1st match against the Dutch might have just been a flash in the pan bad game for them but its all hotting up to giving a good finale.

I was shocked at how bad the Italy v France match was. It's extraordinary to think that Toni is the best centreforward in Italy, he is a DONKEY! Still, typical Italy, they fart and splutter their way through the qualifying rounds looking like one of the worst teams in the competiton and yet they could still end up in the final.

As for the other teams, Croatia have exposed Germany as a fairly average outfit, Holland have looked irresistable going forward but have not yet been tested by a form team that can DEFEND. Spain and Portugal have fantastic attacking quality, however, they both have serious defensive deficicies. This competition is wide open in my opinion. And I would not be at all surprised to see Croatia go very close yet.

Toni was the leading goal scorer in the Germany last year.
Year before he was the first Striker to score 30 goals in more than 30 yearsin the Serie A.

You know strikers, they run hot and cold.
