If you just work hard enough you can have it all (ie: success=puritan work ethic)
The second greatest myth is: You live in a free country (check out 'common law' and the SIN number)
The third greatest myth is: Love is an emotion (noun).. it isn't, love is an action (verb)

That is an excellent point. As far as I understand it (which isn't that well... mainly I asked a sociologist I know about this a while back), this is essentially known to be false; the statistics show that not very many people change socioeconomic classes and of those, very very few go up. | |

That's odd. My advisor in graduate school once told me that to be a good scientist one has to get to used to the idea that there will be no one to ask how to answer a question. Maybe you should try learming enough to know what is and isn't well known. Oh and by the way, parachutes are a conspiracy to make money by scaring sheeple into believing they can't safely jump from a plan without one. | |

Good question but where does one start?
MERCURY- Okay you listed mercury which is a good one since they say mercury is good for us and is a main ingredient in vaccination shots. Yup, I won't be lining up for my shot any time soon (even in a epidemic break out).
FLOURIDE- Oh how about the aluminum waste product called FLOURIDE which they say is good for teeth so they put it in our water supply. The nazies had a success experiment where they used flouride in the water of the jewish prisoners and found they became more docile and didn't fight as much. OH ya I love flouride!! Of course on the toothpaste tube there is a warning that says "don't give more than a pea size of toothpaste to a child".
FREE MARKETS- where we have privately owned central banks controlling the money supply of every country and basically print money out of thin air and influence every aspect of the financial markets and use the Plunge Protection Team to keep the stock market up.
DEMOCRACY- Where we are told the puppet on the left just happens to have the same platform as the puppet on the right. We have Globalists running the show and they give us the illusion of democracy with their puppets.
MAN MADE GLOBAL WARMING- We have Al Gore peddling his propaganda film saying it is the humans where all the planets in our solar system are heating up at the same time and proof that global warming has happened in the past as a natural cycle of the planet. Al Gore makes between $200,000-$1 million per speaking engagement (Great money if you can get it).
9/11 and THE WAR ON TERROR- Ya we have 3 buildings that magically fell at free fall speed (9.8m p/s) on Sept 11/2001 that defied physics and no building before or after this day have ever collapse due to the pancake collapse theory and it was all orchestrated by 19 hijackers were 7 of them just happened to survive the event and proclaiming their innocence in their respective countries. 47 story WTC#7 just happened to collapse into its own basement due to structural damaged casused by the first two demolitions of WTC#1&2. Read "Project for a new american century" published on the internet in September 2001 where all the top neocons sign their names to this document saying they need a "New Pearl Harbour style attack" so the people will back them when they invade other countries for their resources.
NORTH AMERICAN UNION (SPP) DOESN'T EXIST- Even though the sign documents between Bush, Martin and Fox are publically available where they are merging all three countries into a North American Union (SPP agreement). Its completion is for 2010 but we are not suppose to know that and it is just a conspiracy. Dr Jerome Corsi has the signed documents in his book "The late great USA". Every year all three leaders meet to discuss the integration process.
Those are just a few of the lies that annoy me. There are more of course! | |

This applies also to the notion of love - that we can ONLY feeled loved if it is coming from something or someone external to us....rather than recognizing our feelings of love for ourselves comes from within us.....and equally, our feelings of not being loved also come from within us. | |

Posted: 6/19/2008 3:15:36 PM | That we, as a people, live in a free democracy ... and I'm not one to bash our country or it's laws as I love and honor my country and it's citizens and know that we have it as good as or better than most, but I believe that our Government is no longer a government for the people and by the people ... it's more a government for special interests, big business and further propogating it's own agenda, which far too often goes against the better good of the people that it's supposed to represent.
And why should it cost a billion dollars or more to elect a President? WTF?
If the majority of our elected officials are millionaires, HOW can they identify with the common man, his struggles and his day to day life? Yea, I'd like to believe that they can relate ...

Yet the Crown pervades our society like a virus infusing unfairness and an anti-democratic hierarchy. Our elected MP's have to take an oath to the Queen and all her family before they can function. Those who are Republicans at heart cross their fingers when taking the oath. Lord Goldsmith has has even proposed that all school leavers swear allegiance to the Queen to infuse them with a sense of citizenship. How can a non Protestant swear allegiance to a Protestant Queen.
No, most British people look no deeper than the facade. They continue to believe the ruling hegemony is harmless and does not affect they lives. This is truly a myth and a well sustained one by our media. | |

There is another great myth! ..."Peer reviewed" ...Anyone ever examine the politics around peer reviews?
What politics? The above reads like a conspiracy theory. Peer reviewed in not a myth.
1. Peer review means more than one person reviews the study.
2. Each reviewer critiques the research and either flatly rejects it, or sends it back to the author for revisions.
4. Most research studies go through several revisions before publication.
5. Research that has been flatly rejected is not because of politics, it is because there are most likely serious methodological errors. Especially quantitative/statistical errors.
6. Researchers can turn to "pay for publication" journals, and these journals tend to publish anything becuase the price is right. These are not peer reviewed journals.
7. A researcher must earn the right to get published. S/he must submit credentials which show a proven track record of knowledge and achievement in a particular area of expertise.
8. I am aware of this because I have several publications in peer reviewed journals. And not the 'pay-for" kind of journals.
There is no conspiracy or politics. But there are marginal studies with shaky validity that get published in an effort to engage other researchers to replicate the findings. And there are researchers who falsify data. | |

2. People who say they can infer a person's personality from a picture. The error rate is horrendous.
3. Bats are blind. What a joke. They see extremely well.
4. That people can predict the future events from their dreams. More nonsense.
5. Eating Turkey makes one sleepy presumably from tryptophan. Simply a case of blood diverted to the digestive system. The person just ate too much.
6. Eating chocolate leads to pimples and acne. No scientific evidence to support this.
7. Humans Evolved From Monkeys. Humans and monkeys had a common ancestor about 50 million years ago. But we did not originate from the monkey.
8. Men are more promiscuous than women. False. Journal of Sex Research study reports that women are just as promiscuous as men – they’re just not as open and honest about it.
9. Hair and fingernails continue growing after death. After death the human body dehydrates retracting enough skin to expose more nail and hair.
10. The five second rule. False. Germs will stick to most foods on contact. | |
