I recently answered a help wanted ad and the woman who interviewed me had an ashtray on her desk and was actually smoking during the interview. Is that even legal in a workplace in Indiana?

There are no statewide laws or ordinances on the books (yet) in regards to this issue. It is up to the individual counties and municipalities to enact such legislation. Deleware county ordinance states you cannot smoke in any public business buildings except bars and places where the patrons are over 21 years of age. Marion county, on the other hand, has a tougher ordinance and you cannot even smoke in the bars! Which I think is kind of silly. If you're in a bar, are you really concerned about your health?

You can still smoke in bars in Indianapolis, just go into one and you'll see.

I did not know that. I heard on the news (I thought) that it was banned in all public places. Are people just breaking rules and it's not being enforced? I personally do not make it to Indy but twice a year (500 and Brickyard 400) so I probably will never find out personally. Heck, I don't even go to the bar in my little town that's a 2 block walk away from home.

Hmm.. I like that Idea.. I myself am not overly bothered by smokers, but I do not smoke myself, so yeah I have to saa it would be cool to meet up with non-smokers... So yeah. Count me in too!

I love the idea and I dont understand how the earlier posters got all bent out of shape over this. I would reason that smokers could attend but it would be in a non-smoking venue since the OP's issue was about breathing smoke in while attending an indoor POF party. No segregation at all.
