Come on folks get real
there are parts of being single I like, but try having a stimulating conversation with yourself and it sucks to always with the arguement

maybe

you know what I think??? it's so scary to go into a relationship, that sometimes it's better to find the positives of being single to stay single....when it comes to relationships I am not brave enough anymore and plus I am to exhausted.....as a guy here once got angry with me and said “in your testimonial I would write Chicken" he was so right.

I think that the upside of being single is that you don't have to know what you really want like when your in a relationship. When your in a relationship you need to be able to go forward by agreeing on what you both want so you can just coast along a lot more when your single. But i suppose too much of that isn't a good thing and then you forget how to be really motivated and responsible.

the upside to being single is dancing till dawn ,eating out of the tin
not dying or cutting your hair not having to brush your teeth everyday
waxing is a thing you do for the floor not your legs
your boyfriend is Austar
chocolate is no longer regulated to monthly but a everyday occurance
you can laugh at your married friends who bend over backwards to please a butthead
the computer is always yours and there is less porn on it

Thought this post had gone off in to the corner and died.....interesting comments and goddess I would agree fear causes many to shy away from the possibilities....funny thing fear...it will stop us from reaching out to receive what it is we purport to be looking for....

for me the hardest part isnt fear of what might happen because I follow the "feel the fear and do it anyway" thing.....cept from jumping out of perfectly working aircraft.....never could see the sense in that....

its trying to find the one i want to reach out too regardless of the feelings of fear or risk.....this I believe truly sets us free from all that stuff that was/is in the past...it is only when we are able to do this can we say that we have dealt with the baggage....and ready to move on with our lives.....I have been truly blessed...I have loved two great women....well ok they were great at the time....perhaps its fair to say they taught me what it is to love with passion.....number three where the hell are you...I been waiting 4 years isn't that long enough

Baggage
terrible word that....can someone coin a better one please, I am feeling too lazy today

It is good being single as there is no one screwing your brain up.Seriously though I know a few people cannot handle being single that well. I think that is caused by the fact that they have always had g/f's, wives in their lives and when they find themself single they find it hard. How often do you run into an old mate and he is moping around because he got dumped and that is all he wants to talk about.Good grief!. does it say counsellor on my forehead?. Ever been dumped by your g/f and you have actually felt as free as a bird?. You can now do things you like such as:
1/ Pick your nose when you feel like it.
2/Scratch your nuts whenever you want(hey they itch sometimes).
3/Go to the pub with your mates on a Friday night and get slaughtered.
4/ 3 is in lieu of going to her place on a Friday night with a sixpack and watch some crappy movie and secretly hoping you are going to get your knob wet, but when the crunch comes "i have a headache". My god woman don't you know I haven't had sex with you for 3 weeks now and my nuts are about to explode.Oh, and if i drink the sixpack i need counselling as well.
5/ You can go to the football with your mates on a Saturday and get slaughtered. Then go home and order an arsesplitting pizza that you regret on Sunday.Instead of going to her 5th cousin's wedding and meeting people you don't want to meet anyway.
6/ Finally, you can go shopping by yourself and buy stuff you don't need anyway.Great, I can now buy flannelete shirts again, instead of those poofy shirts you used to buy for me and I was obligated to wear.

Yep, sometimes being single=Freedom!.

Man, I've pretty much been single for 19 years. Longest relationship within that time was 1 year. I'm 41 and believe in LOVE. Don't mind my own company but always had the notion that when the time is right I'm ready and waiting to be in love. It's what we're meant to do. Sure it's hard, but finding someone who wants to be with you because they think you're something else and vice versa - what could be better than that?

yeah ok but while in your box come up with a better word than baggage....go on I dare ya

sometimes I think we make it hard, more so than we need to....I see it everyday in forums....some one complains they don't get responses or they say something along the lines of they are not really looking or not ready for a relationship yet...perhaps my view of thw world is too narrow but I think thats fear based...not having a go at anyone
There is no upside to being single, if there was we wouldn't be here writing in forums we would be having a cuddle somewhere and bonking our brains out as often as possible, or as someone I know puts it....enjoying an extended honey moon period

come up with a better word than baggage

'clutter'

It sure as hell takes up space, makes things messy and makes it hard to see clearly.

One upside of being single is having more money to spend. You never go to pay a bill and find that someone's taken some money out.

There is no upside to being single

I disagree - there IS an upside to being single. No one to whinge about me eating chips and chocolate in bed.

Wingy .I think there is an upside to being single .You get to know yourself .I would like to find someone sure ,but if I don't I'm not that worried .I think when you HAVE to find someone because you can't handle being on your own ,then you end up picking the wrong person .
Anyway who said you need to be partnered to be happy ????

There are only a few "upsides" that I can think of. You can come home any time you like. Put the toilet seat up, down or just toss it out the window if that's what gives you your jollies LOL! You don't have to fight over the remote control - unless you've got a multiple personality disorder LOL! And......you get to save a bit of money on condoms and lubricant :) My apologies to anybody who was having their dinner whilst reading the previous sentence :)
