Plentyoffish Music using IMEEM.com - How To Use

What happened to Imeem songs playing on the profile? Now there is only a green x that is not clickable. It's not just me. I checked a few other profiles that had songs on their page and the same thing is happening on their page.
Thanks,
Karen

Kmby, not sure I understand. I look up your profile and the Imeem box shows. I can play the song fine. Make sure your Flash player is up-to-date.

Angelbeforeyou, make sure you follow these steps for a song or playlist in Imeem:

1) Remember to copy the proper code from Imeem (Embed code, NOT the URL).

2) Make sure you paste it into the "Imeem Embed Code: " box on your POF "EDIT" page, then click on both the "Save Music" and "Update Profile" buttons on the page.

Then check to see if the Imeem player loads on your profile. There could be a delay of a few seconds so allow the process to proceed before clicking off the page.

I had a song on my profile then it just disappeared. I tried to add another but nothing is showing up. There is a big blank space where my music used to be. How can I fix this?

^^^ I see a song, "Be With You" by Enrique Iglesias, on your profile. Remember to wait a few seconds to allow the Imeem player to load.

When you listen to the song in Imeem in View (not in the Create tab), you should see an Embed box below the song stream. The box should contain code that starts with

< div style="width:300px.....

Copy the entire contents of the box by focusing on the box with your mouse and right-clicking. A pop-up should appear and choose Copy.

Then go to POF and look for a menu item called "Edit". Click it and you should be taken to your profile edit screen.

Scroll down until you see a box called "Imeem Embed Code:".

Paste the contents you had copied in Imeem into that box. If you already have something in the box delete it, then right-click your mouse inside the box and choose Paste from the pop-up menu.

Once done make sure you click on "Save Music", then scroll down until you see the "Update Profile" button and click that, too. Once done, you should be directed to your profile again. Allow the Imeem player to load (may take up to 20 seconds) and see if the song is now on your profile.

If not, you did something wrong or your Flash player is old and you need to update it (it's free).

Not sure what you mean about getting redirected to a site that wants you to sign up? Are you being redirected to an Imeem log in page? I'd need more info.

Make sure when you paste the new code in your POF Edit page you click on the "Save Music" and the "Update Profile" buttons. The Update Profile button is down on the page so you'll have to scroll.

The 30-second problem is with Imeem, not POF. It seems to be related to copyright issues. Imeem has a group feedback forums for all the problems users run into. Here's one about the 30-second problem....

After what seems like hours of trying, I cant get this player to work. I even tried embedding it to other sites thinking it was a problem with the POF server or something. I was able to get the player to show up on the other sites unlike here, but even there, the songs would not play. They start off in bold print, then goes grey and tries the next song, until the whole list is grey. But here, I cant even get the player to show up on my profile. When I copy the link into the box and click "Save music", the page just reloads. When I use the embedded code in the "About me" section, it just shows the name of the playlist (My taste). Any suggestions?

From Imeem's FAQ page.

Playlists

How do I create a playlist?
1. Log in to the imeem website.

2. Navigate to the music, video, or photo you would like to add to your playlist.

3. Click on the link Playlist.

4. Choose whether to add the content to your profile or group and then whether in a new or existing playlist.

5. Click Add and you’re done! Repeat these steps to add multiple songs, videos, or photos to a playlist.

You can also easily create and edit music playlists using imeem’s drag and drop Playlist Manager. You can navigate to the Playlist Manager from the top menu bar by selecting Create.

How do I edit my music or video playlist?
Navigate to the playlist you want to edit. Below the playlist, click the Organize [Music/Video] Playlist link. You will be able to remove and reorder the media in your playlist. Click Save to update your playlist.

To edit your media title, go to the About widget on the right and click the Edit link next to the current title.

You can also create and edit all your existing music/video playlists by navigating to your Homepage. In the top menu bar, select Create followed by Music Playlist.

Once done, follow the steps I outlined earlier about embedding the Playlist in here.

I PUT THIS POST ON ANOTHER THREAD AND WAS RE-DIRECTED TO THIS THREAD WHICH DOESN'T SEEM TO ANSWER MY QUESTION. CAN YOU PLEASE READ THIS AND HELP ME WITH MY ISSUE. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE MODERATORS.

Maybe she's referring to having to go to the new 'sign up now' policy in order to be able to embedd codes?

What sign up policy? I'm already signed up on Imeem....are you talking about paying for something or a cost?
All I know is that after I click on the Imeem part on my POF profile, I get Imeem. I sign in. I create a NEW playlist, drop and drag the song that I want in it and then, I can't seem to get the code. It ISN'T underneath the created song list ...I used to double click on it and, I would get the code, but now it is telling me to download it or buy it.
How do you get songs now to update and/or change on your profile?

Thanks..

Unfortunately, Ziggy, that “is” simplest terms. Just like most apps, people have to play around and get to know it. There’s no substitute for the hands-on approach.

Beth, Imeem underwent an upgrade a few weeks ago and some things have changed.

I used to be able to right-click on a playlist in Create and a popup would appear. Then I’d choose “View Playlist” to get the Embed code for here. Now I have to go to my main Imeem page (click on “my profile” in the right hand part of your Imeem screen), find the playlist I want to embed, and open it up myself. I know, it’s more steps. I’ve already given feedback on it on their forums.

As far as being free, Imeem's basic membership should still be that as far as I know.

What are the changes? And also...
HOW DO I GET THE CODE NOW? That is what my issue is. I can't find the code to cut and paste after I've created a playlist or even the ones that I have saved on Imeem that are on my playlist. How do I do this? For example, I have a playlist saved of "Beth's Songs"....I have double clicked on it, but I get a box that comes up asking me to buy it now. Where is the code to put on my POF profile?

Thank you...
~~Beth~~
