| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/2/2008 2:06:37 PM | Hey Red, I attended a cooking school while in my early 20's and it was a god send... I will always cook something nice if I have someone special in my life. If we're just getting to know each other and haven't become intimate, I might have her over for a seasonal type meal, made with what ever looks freshest in the market. I'll also ask her in advance if she has a favorite dish, and I might cook that or include it in the menu.
Well, I could go on and on about this but hope it helps...

| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/2/2008 3:23:16 PM | Among family and those that know me I am considered and incredable cook.
Part of good cooking is enjoying it, making it more than just a chore but a piece of art, a project of love.
This weekend I have family and friends coming. There will be three meat fifteen flavour shish-ka-bob, BBQ ribs, Corn on the cob, Green Bean Cassarole, new potatoes in a butter and parsley sauce, and that is just the base meal. I can't wait to get started.

| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/3/2008 1:09:01 AM | I grew up in a restaurant family..... you kind of learn how, or else.......
I handled the cooking chores equally in all my relationships........ Like some have already said, there's no need to go all out when eating alone, and my job takes me on the road most times now from not having anybody...so it's been mostly restaurant food for the last three years.

| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/3/2008 1:35:48 AM | Yes i can cook, very well in fact

| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/3/2008 1:49:18 PM | I can cook somewhat edible food but I do get a little overwhelmed with timing of everything. I have this fantasy of taking a coking class but at this point it is only a fantasy | |
|

| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/3/2008 5:28:28 PM | | I'm a man and I can certainly cook. Grilled chicken with homemade marinades is my specialty. I also make a wicked orange chicken and I do General Tso's as well. So far my attempts as a good burrito have been futile. | |
|
| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/4/2008 7:57:02 PM | | I'm a great cook. Grilling and BBQing is my specialty. I can smoke/BBQ a steak that would be sold for big bux at a classy steakhouse. I also do some Asian cooking, mainly Chinese and East Indian. | |
|
| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/4/2008 8:16:06 PM | Can I cook? Since I was 12. Am I a good cook? Never had any complaints. Did they like it? You betcha. | |
|
| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/4/2008 9:36:43 PM | Considering when I invite folk over for pasta night, on average I have a dozen or so show up... well, let's just leave it at "I have been told so"~
I grew up watching my mom cook. Later on, I somehow developed an allergy to both onions and mushrooms.
*sigh*
But I have managed to figure out how to enjoy Italian and BBQ without onion. I just had to get creative~
|
| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/5/2008 4:26:49 AM | | I can cook. I enjoy cooking for others, but when it comes to myself, I'd rather make a bowl of cereal. | |
|
| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/5/2008 8:54:58 AM | | Sure, I'd love to. I can actualy cook fairly well. Right now it is just my daughter and I in the house so large elaborate meals are few and far between. But I think cooking for a woman is an opertunity to show a side of you that may be apealing, it shows also that you are willing to put time and effort in to a relationship with her. | |
|
| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/5/2008 9:58:07 AM | | I would LOVE to prepare a meal for that special someone.I am a Chef,I have been cooking for 15 years I have attended high school and collage for culinary arts so for me that would be the perfect chance to show off my skills. | |
|
| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/5/2008 12:56:59 PM | OP, Hell Yeah! When it's brown it's cooking, when it's black it's done. I'll cook something for you, and then it's your turn. I like cooking contests. A lot of us not- independently- wealthy guys have had to feed ourselves (and others)over the years. I certainly hope you, also, can cook.(haha, can you?) | |
|
| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/5/2008 1:05:27 PM | Love to TRY to cook.
Signature dish would be Lemon Pepper Chicken with buttery white rice, seasoned with lemon pepper and lemon juice.
pucker up!
Then you get me on a BBQ grill and its on. Steak and veggie shish-ka-bobs, or teriyaki chicken...
Ok, no I can't really cook, just like to make a few things here and there.
|
| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/5/2008 4:45:14 PM | Cooking is a Zen thing. Like the Samurai who learned to be a full man in the true sense that they must be artists and statesman, and not just to wield a sword in combat.
To cook is to create. To create is to appreciate the effort of building and creation. The art of cooking is just a quick way to prove you are as worthy at simple things as you are at greater things.
On a side note -- it seems an unwise thing to tell women that you can cook in the first month you know them. Better to surprise them in a way that does not imply competition on their traditional turf. Women can be territorial on such matters lol. So sayeth the wise fish (aka read - yes I pissed off a few female friends in the past ten years by being able to cook better then they could - sad and petty on their part lol - but thats how it is).

| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/5/2008 7:36:42 PM | | Ya I can cook pretty well. My kids like most everything I make. | |
|
| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/5/2008 8:05:37 PM | | Nope can't cook at all. At the same time I am such a picky eater, I don't know where I would begin. | |
|
| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/6/2008 11:34:26 AM | yes, I can cook, and very very well. I like to eat so it just made sense to learn how. I enjoy daydreaming about what I want to cook, doing the shopping, hanging out in the kitchen doing the prep, which sometimes happens days before the actual cooking. The build up, then anticipation of how it will turn out.
Do I cook like that all the time? Hell no, I have to work, a house to take care of, responsibilities. But on the weekends I do enjoy spending time in the kitchen. I love to cook for someone, but it is more fun cooking together...

| Can YOU cook? Posted: 5/10/2008 5:29:48 AM | | When I was newly divorced, I first bought a cast iron griddle. Not knowing much about cooking and/or cast iron, the day after our settlement I attempted breakfast and fried two eggs (couldn't afford bacon then) Didn't season the cast iron, only washed it in detergent, no PAM, no butter, totally dry surface upon entry of the eggs. Therefore, inquiring minds want to know: Did I eat breakfast at home that day following divorce? | |

Did I eat breakfast at home that day following divorce?
I would have to say: No.
And am tempted to make fun of you... but, I burned soup one day.
It happens to the best of us.
