Posted: 5/16/2008 5:43:22 AM | oh my gosh you guys.....i havent been anywhere or seen anything!!! got married young, had 4 kids before i was 28, always worked, remodeled my home, volunteered at church and school...and always gave in to my ex and what he wanted cuz it wasnt worth the battle. so now that the kids are all grown (and it does go by fast so enjoy it!) i have a list a mile long on what i want to do and see...and i dont see CAMPING on it anywhere except near the bottom of the list where there is an asterisk and then it says *** Camping is acceptable only when it is combined with seeing something absolutely amazing and magnificient (ex: mountains, ocean, etc.)
And no I have never seen the ocean, I was busy TENT CAMPING in northern Wisconsin every year! You get a thread about a road trip to the ocean or the mountains and I am IN!!!!! (Laurie??? Get to work!!! lol) | |

Naperville area or towards Rockford is always better for me but one day this summer when things are a little more settled in my some-what hectic life I will make it out and will finally get to meet all of the wonderful fishies who make all of these events so much fun! | |

I know I said I wasn't likely to make it...but for some reason lately there have been alot of attractive, very nice, well mannered gentlemen my own age magically appearing around me.  And since I love to dance...AND I love ALL of you guys....I may just make it out afterall. If I go, I will see if I can get some more of my girlfriends to go again. I am very fortunate to have such wonderful friends. And Diane and Colleen said they had a really really great time the last time. You guys saw how beautiful they are. Maybe I can get them to come out again. | |

I wish these parties were closer to home. I would organzie one if I had any idea of a good place to have one. But most of the local places near my home are small and already pack a full house on their own just because they aren't exactly big enough for one of these events. There have just been so many parties so far this year. Whew! But I do love all of my new friends. And by the way....someone told me at the party at HotShots that he thought the party seemed as if there were some clicks from POF formed at these parties. I told hm that most people go to these parties and make alot of new friends. It is more like going to a large party of friends, rather than a singles party where everyone is on the prowl (it would be too scary for me to go to these parties if that were the environment!!!). But I think everyone does a nice job of mingling and making new friends. And I personally think that alot of the more quality people on this site attend the events. -T | |

As far as clicks go...I showed up as a single lady, one time (the last WB) and made some great GAL PALS, and met up with some great guys too! So when I went to the HotShots event, it was like I already knew so many people. It was a warm, and wonderful mix of people!! I urge everyone to show up, think positive, and circulate, don't just WALLFLOWER on us, you can do that at home alone. | |
