Actually, been told i was a hopeless romantic, not sure what they meant, well other than the hopeless part which everyone tells me 2 minutes after talking to me!
And trust me, no matter what, THAT ex will never look good to me!
Her husband of 15 years is apparently playing around on her, she just asked if she could move in with me, tg i already had about 20 billion reasons lined up so that aint ever gonna happen!
OT: Love means loving yourself enough to neva do anything that stoopid twice in a life time!

I love my grand daughters unconditionally... but I can't say that about a man I have ever had in my life.
I love my friends differently than I do my family... and even with that I have different levels of love for my friends.
I guess it is safe to say I have different levels of love for family members. I have aunts and uncles that I haven't seen in years. I wish them no harm... just have no contact so it just doesn't matter. That sounds harsh but it is being truthful.
So what I feel is love comes in many different forms.

Greek distinguishes several different senses in which the word love is used. For example, Ancient Greek has the words philia, eros, agape, storge and xenia. However, with Greek as with many other languages, it has been historically difficult to separate the meanings of these words totally. At the same time the Ancient Greek text of the Bible has examples of the verb agapo being used with the same meaning as phileo.
Agape (ἀγάπη agápē) means love in modern day Greek. The term s'agapo means I love you in Greek. The word agapo is the verb I love. It generally refers to a "pure", ideal type of love rather than the physical attraction suggested by eros. However, there are some examples of agape used to mean the same as eros. It has also been translated as "love of the soul".
Eros (ἔρως érōs) is passionate love, with sensual desire and longing. The Greek word erota means in love. Plato refined his own definition. Although eros is initially felt for a person, with contemplation it becomes an appreciation of the beauty within that person, or even becomes appreciation of beauty itself. Eros helps the soul recall knowledge of beauty, and contributes to an understanding of spiritual truth. Lovers and philosophers are all inspired to seek truth by eros. Some translations list it as "love of the body".
Philia (φιλία philía), a dispassionate virtuous love, was a concept developed by Aristotle. It includes loyalty to friends, family, and community, and requires virtue, equality and familiarity. Philia is motivated by practical reasons; one or both of the parties benefit from the relationship. Can also mean "love of the mind". Storge (στοργή storgē) is natural affection, like that felt by parents for offspring.
Xenia (ξενία xenía), hospitality, was an extremely important practice in Ancient Greece. It was an almost ritualized friendship formed between a host and their guest, who could previously be strangers. The host fed and provided quarters for the guest, who was only expected to repay with gratitude.

Slow down, breath deep (take some restrictions off your profile *giggle*) and get out to a few of the events. Focus on meeting people, men and women, in an attempt to network. You never know who you might meet through someone you've met. Stop LOOKing so hard and start enjoying the company of others.

I couldn't agree more... I am finally to that stage. I say it now that maybe I am meant to be alone for the rest of my time but then again, maybe not... however on this journey, I am going to meet people and enjoy the many yet to come into my life. I know being on POF, I have met some very interesting peeps from POF.
a short/funny story, I did some networking for my sister in law. She is a bit older than I so when I joined last year I sent out a blurb to a few gents for her.. with her permission of course.. the 2nd man to contact her.,..OMG they so hit it off. They just got back from their cruise. So, networking can be a BIG plus.

I love my pets enough to where if I had to choose their lives over some other human sorts...I would pick my pets!
And then NO ONE will ever be loved like my children, obviously! My mom and I had a discussion recently which started as a joke...I commented that my sons were the best looking males in the world...she said, "What about Tyler?" (grandson) I said, "He is up there too...but I will always be partial to my boys!" She thought that was crazy...that I did not "love" my grandson deeper than my sons...and I told her, I love him just as much...just two different sorts of love!
And this week, I love, love, love nectarines, Doritos with whipped cream cheese, and some bottled stuff that Miss Shell turned me on to! LOL
Now...if I could meet the person who would appreciate all of my other loves...and not feel competetive for such....**sigh** But am gonna have fun in the process of searching! ;) | |
