So, the question is:
What are the pros and cons of being promiscuous? No Pros, No Cons -Just Consequences
Is it wise or even practical to be promiscuous? Wisdom is earned, not practically learned.
Would you date and have sex with someone who is dating others and having sex with them, as well? Not knowingly, if I am deceived, Pity.
Would you even date someone who has had multiple sexual partners, before you? Is there a card carrying virgin in here?

Even if there was, I can't hardly imagine being the one to deflower her. Even when I was young, the idea of a virgin was not something I found appealing. I well remember my own deflowering. It was hardly memorable for my partner at the time. The very idea of a virgin at our age would raise all kinds of questions in my mind, and I can think of few answers that I would find comfortable. | |

Do people our age actually consider, (let alone even think about), living a life of promiscuity?
Why not? I'm sure there are lots of people our age that are just out of LTR that would enjoy experimenting with something new. Doesn't one do this at some point in their life? Why is it to be reserved for younger people? And we must not forget the 'players' = they come in all ages! Just because I'm not into casual sex, doesn't mean that I feel its wrong if people our age are into it.
Is it wise to be promiscuous? Probably not...but one can still be somewhat promiscuous and be choosey in who they sleep with eventhough they may have lots of partners.
Would I date or have sex with someone who was dating or having sex with others?
I would date them, so long as they were only DATING others, not sleeping with them. I would never knowingly sleep with someone if they were sleeping with others - period. How can sex be meaningful if they are sharing themselves with others? I don't share well...whether it be my toys or my boys....I mean boy toys...no ....you know what I mean.
I'm not ansering the other 2 questions because my opinion pretty much matches everyone else's.

It may surprise you to learn that the attentive male can, indeed, detect when a woman's thoughts are not completely captivated by his attentions. Just as the wandering mind in a male can result in a certain flagging of his ardor, so the woman's body will react to her thoughts, resulting in a number of phenomena that become apparent to the man. Only the very skilled in the arts of love can disguise the wandering mind sufficiently to keep the other blinded to the fact.
And, of course, once noticed, the reflection of these wandering thoughts results inevitably in the change from making love to having sex.

Because some people can't think of anything else to discuss but sex. It gives them someone to look down their nose at.
What people choose to discuss and post for discussion is there own perogative, as long as they follow forum posting rules. If another does or does not choose to participate in the discussion, that is their perogative, as well. If a poster thinks a question or a topic is stupid, then why are they posting? Just to be negative?
Have the powers of POF made Mackevinized a Moderator? Obviously not, the topic and questions remain.

The question of someone dating others and having sex with them is completely different than multiple partners. If you are between 45-50 you almost assuredly have had multiple partners. I mean come on! Did you grow up in a monastery (nunnery) ?
Women open up to sex to find love. Men find love while having sex. It sounds trite but it is true. Men and women approach this subject from opposite points of view.
There is nowhere better to observe that than on POF. Women want the laundry list of great attributes a man would have, and if a guy is smart enough to convince you he has those attributes he probably has 4 other women as well.

At the same time? As in six or eight people in the same bed ? No, I’ll pass. Crowds scare me.
I am weird. I do not like to date more than one person at a time, much less sleep with more than one
person at a time. IF i met someone who was dating and having sex with multiple partners, i would judge whether to get involved on multiple criteria. What the OP asks would be considered along with
to many other aspects of this persons personality to list here. Yes, it would be a factor, but by no means the only factor.

At my age, i assume that the majority of people i will/ might date have had multiple sex partners.

We have long threads here about “The Number”, when to admit to yours, what mens
“really mean”, what math one uses to figure out a womans “real number”, what Jebus thinks of those who “stray”, how many stones one should use to punish women who “sleep around” and dozens of other “interesting hobbies”. For me, I again, simply do not care. If i didn’t even know a woman at age 28, why should i worry about what or who she was doing at that age ? If i find myself in a relationship, I assume i may have the right to be concerned about what happens from the point it begins towards the future, but what gives me the right to dictate her past ?
Yes, if that past involves a German Shepard, a live video with big numbers on UTube, or a blue dress and the Oval Office, I might wish to have a a discussion or two, but is there anyone out there
without a spare thigh bone, if not a complete skeleton, in their closet ? If it doesn't involve sex,
it might be a small off-shore account, a strange spot in the garden where the flowers grow VERY large, an unexplainable tendency to cry when the Bay City Rollers comes on the radio, or (gasp)
