Would you date and have sex with someone who is dating others and having sex with them, as well? No. This hasn't changed. I have never accepted a relationship with someone who was dating and sexually intimate with another or others at the same time.
Would you even date someone who has had multiple sexual partners, before you? No. This would be a turn off. I would not find such a person appealing. This also has not changed. Same as always. I am a one man woman looking for a one woman man. Always was, always will be. | |

Sexual promiscuity seems to be the norm, rather than the exception.
I find the idea that a woman over 45 would be "saving herself" quite laughable. Sex is a natural part of a relationship and the idea that a reputation would be tarnished at this stage is more than a little silly.
Would you date and have sex with someone who is dating others and having sex with them, as well?
It has been my experience that women expect to be exclusive once intimacy enters the picture (assuming it was more than just a fling) and I find that acceptable.
Would you even date someone who has had multiple sexual partners, before you?
I don't really see how what happened before is relevant? I've never quizzed any women on their sexual history and don't intend to start. | |

( that just might be a little to personal.) Then again shes Australian and we all know about those wild women down there.
I am not going to admit to anything here. I may or I may have not slept with or other wise had carnal knowledge of more then one woman in the past 40 years or so. I will not comment on if I have lusted after woman or engaged in self pleasure while lusting those woman.
Now am I pro or con for promiscuity. I am pro do what works for you. If you enjoy being a born again Virgin then great. If you want to have wild monkey sex with other like minded monkey sex people that fine with me as well. as for me the Gorilla suit is just to hot and sorry to say I don't have the bod to do the Tarzan thing. not that I would know anything about those activities. | |

I find the idea that a woman over 45 would be "saving herself" quite laughable. But what about "respecting herself"?
Look, there are women who CAN compartmentalize, and have a one nighter, FB,FwB. And then there are others who feel that sex can only be part of a meaningful monogamous relationship. I think every woman should feel free to to what she feels is right and good for her,without other people judging or ridiculing. The only thing "wrong" is sexual carelessness that leads to unintended pregnancy or the spread of STDs.
That said
idea that a reputation would be tarnished at this stage is more than a little silly.
There are in fact still many villages, small towns, closely knit neighborhoods and communities where "tarnished reputation" IS a factor to consider. I doubt that most would get unduly concerned about a woman having sex within a serious relationship,but promiscuity or seeming to have a high turnover of 'boyfriends' will damage a reputation. And for many women moving to some faceless urban area so she could boink at will, is either entirely out of the question, or not worth giving up the GOOD things associated with non-urban lifestyles.
But it's an interesting point, that these 2 arguments "what are you saving it for?" or " "worried about your reputation! That's ridiculous!" are ones commonly trotted out during an end- of- the-evening/date "pester and grope" by a guy who's" dating" primarily to give Willy a bit of fun.
Dudes, here's a clue...if you have to argue/pressure/debate/riducule/ quote statistics to a lady who isn't as wholeheartedly enthused about the horizontal mambo as you are, you might as well put a big sign on top of your head" I'm just looking for a piece of ass". Is tearing off a piece with a woman you had to argue with/pressure REALLY all that satisfying? Wouldn't you prefer having sex with a woman who wholeheartedly WANTED to do it?
And if you then wonder "what's wrong with this woman...she LIKES sex!?" and judge her to be a bad relationship choice because of that, you are pretty much just about what we women run across all the time. We're expected to like sex and participate enthusiastically, be adept at it, not "make a guy jump thru hoops", but when you encounter a woman who actualy meets that paradigm, then you are all worried that she's "been with a lot of men" " gives it up too easy".
Forget pros and cons. Mature people should conduct their sex lives however they see fit. No one should be disrespected or ridiculed if they are concerned with STDS, if they have time frames/parameters, if they place a value on sexual intimacy higher than scratching an itch, or are concerned that semi indiscriminate sexual intimacy will hurt self esteem and/ or reputation. Nor should they be regarded as somehow inferior goods if they are more free with their sexual standards and choices.
I suspect, after reading these threads, talking to other people, etc, that a lot of women who WERE free thinking about enjoying sex, got a lot LESS free after running into a few hit and run guys, or guys who came right out and SAID "you aren't relationship material, you gave it up too easy".
What i'd LIKE to see become the "norm", is that mature men and women RESPECTED each other's decisions and standards about sex, when to have it and who to have it with, without using words like "laughable", "silly" "prudish",or labeling someone as a "horndog" or a slut because they were more focused on sexual pleasure,or had less exacting 'standards'.
And let's not start screaming about STDs. Behaving in a sexually responsible manner should be a given. And so should the realization that the only way to completely avoid the risk of STDs or other communicable illnesses and diseases would be to eschew all contact with other humans. Let's not forget, even though it's not common, people HAVE gotten HIV/AIDS via non sexual incidents. And plenty of married people have gotten a STD because their spouse was dinkin' around on the side.
When I first returned to Adventures in Modern Dating, I figured that people over 45 would have their heads OUT OF THEIR ASSES about sex, be willing to live and let live, respect others personal standards, judge not lest they be judged, do unto others as they would have others do unto them...but what I'm finding is people who are more effed up in the head about sex NOW!
Mindboggling.

Really agree with Cindy, however. Hard to imagine at this age people would be so hung up about sex, considering the nature of things as they were when we were young. | |

I have noticed that older people (or maybe its just on fishes)
seem to think that sex is some sort of prize or booty...given
only to the winner of some sort of game (the rules of which
I've yet to figure out).
I find sex enjoyable...in fact I like it. Under the right
circumstances...I would have sex without a relationship.
I don't think that means I lack self respect or I'm promiscuous.
I think it just means I like having sex every once in a while.

first. from the impersonal sense. people will be promiscuous to satisfy the longings of comfort which may have been betrayed by early choices and conflicts.
love is love and will find its level.
now personally. the tables have turned. if at a time in my youth when some niggling discomfort enabled temptation to see if an other were reciprocous to me. it were for reason i desired to be intimate again.
but i won't be on the menu for anybody. i recognize that many a person want commitment for the purposes which they may explain in their way(s). and some will have to taste from the menu to have confirmations or no.
i can't do that. and i do much feel like the little girl hiding from the hungry and dangerous wolf pack.
i must meet someone in mind and soul agreement before bodies can unite. | |
