As far as what camp ground we go to, best make a decision quick, so we can begin reservations. Who's going to step up and throw down the hammer and pick the winning campground? Preferably someone who lives in the area and is familiar with the area and campgrounds? After reading all the information on each campground, my pick would be 1 or 3. But, leaning towards No. 1 (12 mile float).

I haved camped at both shady beach and kozy camp their both about the same. But that was a few years ago they both could have changed for the better or the worst. But when I stayed there they were both nice place's to camp at and their quiet hours are the same both are 11:00 PM just like twin bridges was on the north fork trip. And we didn't have any problems with too loud of campers LOL.Well all but the Fire work that went off LOL Saturday night LOL.

Has anyone checked on Gracies? The last time I was there they didnt have a quiet time. In fact they actually had a live band there, it was someone's birthday and the band didnt quit until about 4 am. Also, as far as where you rent the canoes is pretty much open.

Lauri, in order to clarify, because many people were confused at the North Fork float. At North Fork, one campsite included enough room for 8 - 15 tents. But most people were under the impression they had their own individual site - space. Not a big problem, but somewhat deceiving.

If Shady assigns by campsite, then Liz and I each need a site, or two sites. But, if a campsite includes enough room for multiple tents, then one campsite. I'm just pointing this out, because we ran into a problem with spacing, roominess at the North Fork float. Just something to think about......or heads up.

Thanks for putting this together.

Actually Lauri, what we did at North Fork turned out great!

Friday night everyone was on their own.
Saturday lunch, everyone brought their own lunch.
Saturday night everyone brought their own meat, brats, hamburger, etc.... and then each person brought a dish, salad, potato salad, three/four bean salad, etc.... to contribute to the bbq. (it worked out good, because everyone had extra to go around, burgers, brats, chicken....)

How does that sound?

Actually, the North Fork group brought their own plates, forks, spoons, etc.... and that worked out great. So, in summary here's my suggestion....

1. Utensils are each persons responsibility as well as beer and beverages
2. Friday / Friday Night each person is on their own for meals
3. Saturday (Breakfast & Lunch) each person is on their own for meals
4. Saturday Evening after the float, each person brings a meat, brats, hamburger for themselves, and contributes one covered dish, potato salad, macaroni salad, etc....(usually we'll have enough variety because of extra brats, hamburger, chicken, etc.....that people bring)
5. Sunday, again each person is on their own

If need, each person can sign up for a Saturday Evening covered dish, that way we don't have two people bringing potato salad, etc...?

Note: You may want to post Items 1 - 5 listed above on the front page of this event

I'll bring a grill. We forgot one at the North Fork outing, but luckily Marc showed up with one and saved the day.

It was a good thing that one of the guys brought a grill but there was two grills there plus the one that the camp groung provided.Shady Beach all so provides grill too for their burn barowls.just like we did on the north fork trip we all did our oun meals on friday night and for saturday breakfast and for lunch. And we all pitched in on a pot luck dinner. And it worked out well just don't make enoungh for about 8 people or so its reallt not hard to do.I made 4 bean salad and pasta saled all at the camp ground on Friday Afternoon before everyone started to show up.The North Fork trip had 38 people signed up but only 16 showed. And there was plenty of food for all with more than needed.

Ok, so, I will bring charcoal and fluid. Who's cooking? Dennis, want to eat together Friday night and Sat morning? What about snacks on our float? I will bring a 18 pk of Coors light 16 oz for my beverage. And I have a ginormous cooler.
