i wonder how many parent's and grandparent's of pepole in this country were 16-17 when they got married? every generation change's it's view's and belief's on what is moraly rite and or wrong. compare the divore rate of today with that of say 50-60 year's ago when couple's were married at a younger age. it is higher today than in any other time in american history. it is written in the bible that let those who are without sin cast the first stone. i can't condem nor will i when it come's to other peole making their own choice's concerning their own live's. weather any of us like it or not. if they are old enough to legaly vote then they are legaly old enough to make their own choice's like it or not.
Actually you have made no attempt to make any point at all. You put forward the question and that is it. You have not taken a stand one way or the other. Other than this you posted that some states have varying age limits of consent.
My stand is that its wrong for anyone(male or female, no more than the 4 years difference law) to date what is considered a minor. That age will vary from state to state. Now do I agree with the law on what that potential age may be sometimes yes sometimes no.
My initial point of this thread is to see if the opinions differ due to reversing the situation. From a 17f with a 24m to a 17m with a 24f.
this may be the case, but in my house it isn't. 18 is the legal age of majority in this state, and that is what I go by. Even 18 would be pushing it if it were my child.

I don't give a stuff about legal consent....I would not allow an adult male or female prey on my child at that age....
I think most people would be surprised and think it a bit odd on the woman's part but tend to think less that the older person is somehow taking advantage of the younger, and for the younger guy, he is probably getting high 5s for bagging the older babe.
What is wrong with the 24 year old who can't find an adult their own age? I date older men (almost exclusively). I dated older men when I was a teenager. I would never, ever date a teenager myself now that I am the older party. Sick. I realize just how f-ed up the men who were dating me when I was a teen are.
Same thing in my opinion. Why would a 24 year old think they have anything in common except sex? 17 is a little too close to jailbait and high school to be considered a relationship with him.
