| Define good legs! Posted: 4/28/2008 3:03:13 PM | ^^^ I think what's even more relevant is that women rarely walk for miles in their heels, so the exercise benefits (such as they are) don't have much time to kick in. I know that my lazy bones are usually hailing a cab after about 20 minutes of non-stop high-heel walking--forget the calves, it hurts my poor feet.
That said, my own legs are deathly pale and look like they've been put through a wood-chipper for all their scars and bruises, so I'm not exactly in a position to judge the gams of others.

| Define good legs! Posted: 4/28/2008 3:16:44 PM | No I'm NOT SAYING every woman would have a killer set of legs...you have to have SOMETHIN' to start with.
and besides..... tiger .......you're just jealous cuz you can't wear 'em !
j/k
Walking in heels only PARTLY like walking on your tip toes, puhleeeeze ! It takes alot of balance !
Did you also know, of the human anatomy, mens legs AND womens legs have the same strength.
It's true ! I heard it on Hollywood Squares !

| Define good legs! Posted: 4/28/2008 9:24:54 PM | | Men definitely notice a nice pair of toned legs. I take a weekly dance class and swim laps at the Y two to three times per week and I take it as a great compliment when someone tells me I have great legs. As far as strength, trust me, you would not want me to kick you! LOL | |

| Define good legs! Posted: 4/28/2008 10:17:20 PM | I've got thunder thighs and I was getting dressed one time and the guy I was with complimented me on my legs
Made me laugh - it was sweet of him. I guess some guys are into chunky thighs

| Define good legs! Posted: 4/29/2008 10:09:52 AM | Walking any distance in heels isn't good for your lower back, it throws your centre of balance out and you have to compensate, which is why it makes your butt look good. Yoga and pilates are better for toning you leg muscles than running as it does less damage to your joints and elongates and stretches the muscles rather than building bulk.
I've found that a nice smile can compansate for not so good legs.

I don't mean "Legs like Cameron Diaz Personally i don't think hers are that great. To me it's all about definition. They don't have to be long, just well defined. Look good from the front or the back. Example: Paula Abdul before she gained weight.

| Define good legs! Posted: 4/30/2008 5:40:54 PM | I just got an email pointing me to this thread. He told me to join in because it's full of women with good legs doing Plenty of Fishing for Compliments.
I'm unapologetically vain about my legs, so I'm incapable of playing coy (er, coi?) They're my best physical feature by far, and I'll work to keep them fit as long as I possibly can. They provide me hedonistic pleasure both in the dreaded conceit way and also in giving a bit of momentary, fleeting pleasure to random leg men out in the world. Considering most of us in the Great White North keep ourselves bundled up and covered for much of year due to the climate, a flash of leg is the least we women can do when the weather co-operates.

| Define good legs! Posted: 4/30/2008 5:44:59 PM | Although the OP asked to define it, this is all the definition I can come up with, not necessarily in this order:
1. Mira Sorvino 2. Julianne Moore 3. Neve Campbell 4. Lori Singer 5. Dana Delaney
Get the idea?
Edit: OOPS! 6. Dawn1114

| Define good legs! Posted: 4/30/2008 7:04:48 PM | not a leg guy; overrated for me; usually leggy women in tight skirts have no booty's so on a pure physical level its not a big thing.
again a shallow answer for a shallow question.

Unfortunately cellulite aflicts over 80% of women, and size has nothing to do with it, it's just how we're made. A statement often made by women who either are, or were, overweight and have cellulite. Kind of like a guy saying that 'all' men have thinning hair. No, they don't. I'm into slim women; none of my girlfriends have had cellulite, and we're getting well into the late 40's for their ages here. Basically, sure, there is a genetic predisposition for it, but lets face it, if your older female relatives have cellulite, and you put on the pounds, you're just asking for trouble, and will most likely get it. But it's not inevitable. If you choose to believe it to be so, and do nothing to avoid it, then you WILL have cellulite.

Then you don't know much about biology. Celulite is a naturally occuring effect of the way women's subcutanious fat is stored, which is different to mens.

All I can say is your girlfriends are the luck ones. I'm a uk size 10 (US size 6), are you saying that's fat?

Unfortunately cellulite aflicts over 80% of women, and size has nothing to do with it, it's just how we're made. That is a farce. Yes some women are more predisposed to having cellulite however working out takes care of it if you have it.

| Define good legs! Posted: 5/5/2008 7:21:34 AM | | I've always had great legs- and at 6' tall its the first thing men notice. No varicose veins, no cellulite- BUT you have to work to keep them that way- I run 4 miles most week days. Still, it seems worth the effort. | |

What is cellulite? Cellulite is a skin condition that affects more than 90% of women. Directly related to hormonal variations, it also tends to worsen with age. Resulting from microcirculation impairments, cellulite is a vicious circle involving fluid retention, enlargement of fat cells and an alteration of collective tissue.
Why does the skin look dimpled?
Clinically, the appearance of cellulite is the result of enlarged female hypodermic lobules, which give the skin the dimpled "orange peel" look. As a woman, you have two opposing forces which create this visible appearance of cellulite: vertical connective tissue pulling down on the skin; fluid retention and enlarged fat cells pushing up on the skin.
Do diet and exercise get rid of cellulite?
No, because cellulite is a complex problem it must be addressed from the subcutaneous layer to ace on fluid retention. Both diet and exercise affect deep fat, they fail to act on the underlying cause of cellulite in the superficial tissues of your skin. Even women who exercise regularly and follow low fat-diets may still have cellulite
When will guys get it into their thick skulls that cellulite is not a sign of being fat and lazy, it's a naturally occuring condition that affects the majority of women and there's little they can do to get rid of it. Not everyone who has cellulite eats badly and sits on their @rse all day. If we went round saying that guys went bald because they didn't take care of themselves, or went grey because they ate badly it would be the same thing.

| Define good legs! Posted: 5/7/2008 8:46:00 PM | | Whenever a woman is displaying her legs my eyes drift to her ankles and if there is good definition there, I'll explore further. Thick ankles (cankles) do nothing for me. I guess that's a bummer for me as that part is genetic in a lot of cases and there's nothing she can do about it. Sucks to be me, I suppose. | |
