Posted: 4/24/2008 2:50:39 PM | something interesting about animal sexuality on pbs: monkeys in the jungle -the lead male was doing all the female monkeys (feeling he was superior) -while he was doing this, his female monkeys were sneaking off for quickies with other male monkeys that wandered into their territory. -natures way to refresh the gene pool. i had to snicker after he finished with one of his females, then turned and exploded in anger after catching his girlfriend behind a tree with another monkey on her back (no pun intended)- so who's really being had? | |

Posted: 4/24/2008 4:04:42 PM | Think about it. Heterosexuals average out EXACTLY the same. Yes kids, that is right, it actually takes two people to have sex. For every man or woman to have sex, there is an equal and opposite woman or man they screwed. The average is exactly the same.
Women will usually under report their sexual partners. Men will over report. This is why the 'average' partners is always different in surveys- when you think about it, the average partners should always be the same... or else the men are bonking ghosts. | |

on trying to deal with it.
After it has been solved, can we all turn our attention towards that "Chicken or Egg" debate?

Kind of depends on the amount of testosterone and oxcitocin are ratioed in one's brain chemicals. There is generally more oxcitocin in women because of childbirth and bonding with the infant. Men have more testosterone, of course, but women who enjoy sex more and are more sexually active have more testosterone than the average female. | |

2) Does it really matter?
3) Do generic comparisons as this one make ANY sense or have any practical value?
IMO the answer to all three is No.
4) Studies indicate that the average man has a higher average number of partners than the average woman.. But that is the average man and does one really exist? An "average woman"?
5) Is a man any man, more "promiscuous" than a woman? In actions, maybe, in thoughts, I doubt it.
6) What one can safely say is that more women today are sexually liberated than ever before, or at least since the Victorian times. And they enjoy the pleasure of good sex more than women ever did.
I am going to have a smoke now! wink! lol

Posted: 10/13/2009 8:06:56 AM | I sometimes come across articles from women who dislike that its okay for men to "sleep around with lots of women" but its not okay for women to "sleep around or they are called sluts."
I think the reason men are "celebrated or high-fived" for sleeping with one woman or many women is basically because ITS Really difficult for most men to find a girlfriend or any women, even if a man has really low standards. Basically its a "Miracle" any time a man gets laid from the eyes of other men.
The downside of promiscuity is that you risk diseases and fathering children. Also, Men lie about the number of GF and exaggerate their hookups. So basically Men are Lying to seem more promiscuous and women are Lying to seem less promiscuous.
If a woman has low standards, its pretty easy to find a boyfriend or several boyfriends to sleep with. The reason in the past that women were called "looked down upon" was because of getting diseases and getting pregnant/holding out for marriage. Still, MOST women want guys who will be their Boyfriends and not players. Especially if a guy makes more money than her. | |

I base this on the people I know or have known...
I have a lot of male friends who probably have had less partners than fingers on one hand... and a couple of male friends who have had over 20-30 partners... but for the most part, low numbers...
I have a lot of female friends who have had 15+ partners... some over 150 partners...
The average seems to be around 40 partners.... None of them have had less than 5 partners....
It's interesting too, how women count....
One woman I dated told me she had only slept with 7 men... I thought it was odd, (knowing her background) so I asked her why only 7... She replied, (This is classic!) "I don't count the mistakes or the one night stands!" | |

I'm not surprised, I can often smell when they're aroused or on their period... aroused is harder to scent, not like that mouthful of tinfoil and pennies scent of blood...
Sometimes when a woman says she can smell "the other woman" however, she's just fishing... wondering if she says it, that the guy will believe she can and confess....
That being said, if someone isn't washing well enough to get rid of one woman's scent before sleeping with another, he needs basic hygiene instructions.... | |
