The only difference is ladies are quite better at not getting caught seeing there is no real way to catch them. With men you can at least smell the other ladies private parts all over the man.

OT: I'd say men are considered players or manwhores rather than promiscuous. Women do their fair share of "hoing" these days, but so many are so afraid of being labeled a skank and such that it's probably more a male dominated thing. jmo | |

Let's exclude gay men and gay women for the sake of our argument. I think the person who posted this thread was thinking along these lines - "Who is more promiscuous, heterosexual men or heterosexual women?" I could be wrong in interpreting the question that way, but I'm guessing I'm not.
Men typically have sex with one woman when they have sex. Rarely will they have sex with say, two women in a group-sex format. Or three women. Sure, it happens, but not as often as one woman will have sex with several different partners in a "group sex" situation. You could argue this point, but it would be pointless. There are way more women on this planet who have sex with multiple partners in one session, than there are men who have sex with multiple partners in one session.
Since it takes one female and one male to tango (in a traditional sexual encounter) , and most males do not have sex with say, five eager women who are drooling over them in a hotel room; but one woman will much more frequently have sex with multiple males in that same hotel room, my vote goes for women being more promiscuous than men. And I think the math would inevitably back this up.
To put this in simpler terms, let's say 99% of all heterosexual encounters are one-on-one, one male and one female. And 1% are "group encounters". Out of that 1%, I'd be willing to bet big money that the vast majority of the women involved in those group encounters have WAY more partners during those sessions. In fact, I'd be willing to hazard a guess that the number of partners a woman has during group sex outnumbers the number of partners a man has during group sex by at least three to one. And it's probably higher than that.
But wait, there's more - Out of that 99% group, a certain percentage of those women are prostitutes. So when you factor that in, uh, there are WAY more female prostitutes (heterosexual) than there are male prostitutes. And once you tally the number of encounters that all female prostitutes have into our little equation, the numbers really start to skew in favor of women being far more promiscuous than men.
So yeah, based on strictly a Number of Partners criteria, heterosexual women are far more promiscuous than men.
No doubt about it.

Now, which gender statistically is more WILLING to be promiscuous? Guys. Guys have less guilt-conflict about having a hookup than women generally do. Women are more into self-image than guys are, and even though women like sex and adventure as much as the next guy, far more women are hesitant about it.
But when women are willing to be "promiscuous" or "naughty", it's much easier for them to execute starting from square 1 than a guy. But all in all, I'd say it's roughly equal. The more women willing to be carefree about sex, more guys getting laid. The more women blocking off the mere notion of casual sex, the less guys having casual sex. | |

Posted: 10/18/2009 5:23:30 PM | | what comes to mind from reading this thread is a curiosity of mine ... and maybe a tad bit off topic .. however here goes .... women on here would have us think that it is a trait of women in general ..to place more emotional importance on sex ... and it may be for some ..however from my experience I have had over my sorted past many lovers /sex partners if asked a number I honestly could not count them ..my guess would be probably somewhere between 100 and 150 ...hey I was a teenager in the seventies ... but back to my point ... while i cannot name all the women I have had sex with ..if i met one of them again and knew them I know I would remember that we had been intimate ... but I know of at least four women who I have had sex with who I met again down the road who did not remember that we had had sex .. and they were not drunk at the time we had the sex ...this bothered me at the time because I know that I am not that bad ..and even if I was I would think that should be reason to remember ...how does this relate to the topic .. i think the only way I would forget about having sex with someone is if I was having many more partners than even I have had ...yes I was very promiscuous in my younger day ..a fact I am not proud of ...but it is what it is ...I do regret my number but I cant say I regret any solitary one of them ... every time I was with someone it seemed to be the thing to do at the time ... i never collected notches on my gun belt ..they just seemed to add up | |

I'm curious though, how many men have you smelled with the woman's scent on them & where did you go? Is your research based on 1000's or just a few? Did you go to Malls? Train Stations? Goverment buildings? Politicians? Hockey Games? Football Games? DisneyLand? How about just amongst Homosexuals? Or Christians? I'm not attacking your beliefs, I'm just curious as I see you're wearing a cross. Anyway I think your assumptions are a little biased. Some areas of the country may have higher or lower promiscuity results, therefore you cannot generalize overall that the whole Western society or all cultures are that way.
Now if you were talking about teens, I'd be shocked... Dr Oz's show the other night said that 50% of teens are having oral sex, 1 in 10 is having anal sex, teenage pregnancy is skyrocketing. What does this have to do with your forum topic? Well it shows that males & females are increasingly getting involved in sex at a younger age. Therefore based on the whole Western Society, teenages are more promiscuous because the data supports it. Actual facts...
Now for Political Correctness... I always thought it was "Men & Women" , "Gentlemen & Ladies" , "Male & Female" , His & Hers, etc... Not "Men Or Ladies"
Finally, since this is a debate, (AND I use the term loosely...) People MUST know the differences between the needs of men & women. Generally speaking... "...The most important needs for women are affection, conversation, honesty and openness, financial support and family commitment. Those for men are sexual fulfillment, recreational companionship, admiration and domestic support..." These needs are so strong that when they’re not met in a marriage or a relationship, people are tempted to go outside to satisfy them. Again the statistics support this theory globally and on a individual basis. Why are we here? What were our needs that weren't satisfied?

The more "machismo" in a culture the more likely men are to cheat(all of Latin America, Middle East, and a few others). However, more feminized cultures tend to go in the other direction with women are cheating(Anglosaxon and Swedish cultures).
There are more macho societies in the world though so I think it's probably men that are more promiscuous at least on a global scale. | |

The most desireable males can (and sometimes do) sleep with far more women than the more average males. One guy to many girls.
Females on the other hand -- even average ones -- can (and sometimes do) have sex with whomever they want. Even males that are "out of their league" will likely have sex with them at least once.
If I had to guess women have become more promiscuous than men. It is less taboo than it once was and they have far more opportunities than men do. | |

Part of the Grand Design when Adam & Eve were on God's drawing board was :
Man = indiscriminate.
Woman = selective.
Just observe what women do. Women don't get dressed every weekend or week night and head out to the bar thinking ' ok what man can I screw tonight.. Am I gonna get lucky?'. The feminists tried very hard to make women as promiscuous as men, and for a while they succeeded. That was the radical 60's when feminism, women's lib, man/woman "equality" , promiscuity etc ruled the day. Women were urged to become wh ores. But eventually over time as women came to realize they were not being true to their selves , that random meaningless sex (ala men) was not what they were about, feminism slowly started to die .. and today most women are now back to being women. | |
