Men’s Top Ten Favorite/Least Favorite Conversation Topics Page 2 of 2    (1, 2)

I think one was missed ....."SHOPPING"......I can't stand to hear about how you
went shopping...what you bought....what you didn't buy......what was cheaper
somewhere else...what the other person with you tried on........who had a sale....
and how much money you saved.....'Cause I'm only ten feet away from you
holding your purse....In the same damn store! Lord Help Me!

Skunk, you don't like shopping?

Talking about sex is far more interesting than talking about past relationships.

They are "past" for a reason

BeerShark NAILED IT.......We are much SIMPLER than women think!

MUCH more simpler... i keep telling women who think we're not saying what we mean, that we have some ulterior motive, or hidden meaning... to stop giving us so much credit, we're not that smart.

All my male friends are married. It's very liberating to live outside the bars and look in. Here is what they talk about.

1: Politics
2: Wives....( not in a good way )
3: Work
4: Faltering economy
5: Retirement options
6: Sports
7: Food
8: Trucks
9: Vacation
10: Going home

Things they don't talk about:

I don't know...they don't mention it

i think they should be:

Men’s Top Ten Favorite Conversation Topics
1. Hobbies/interests in general
2. Vacations
3. Food
4. Entertainment (Movies, Music )
5. Family
6. Sports
7. sex (once they find out it's not a taboo topic)
8. The dating process (whats it like from the female POV)
9. Dogs

i think most of us have been conditioned not to talk about past relationships and sex on the first date, or at least wait till she brings it up, then feel free to contribute.

ShadowEagle: "I think most of us have been conditioned not to talk about past relationships and sex on the first date ..."

you'd be SHOCKED at the amount of time I've spent waiting for a man to STOP talking about his previous relationships ... in vivid detail ... showing me photos of previous "love" partners ... some men start with the most recent and go back to their crush on their Kindergarten teachers ...

I only WISH most of the men would have passed "Dating 101" and be conditioned not to talk about past relationships ...

also ... NOT offering sex while we're still shaking hands and before the first drink hits the table could be noted in "Dating 101" as well ...

what I'd LIKE to hear about are ... his hobbies, interesting aspects of his work, how he spends leisure time, what sorts of entertainment he's interested in (plays, musicals, races, staying home watching t.v., hiking, biking, etc.) ...

I'd also like to be able to express my thots as well ...

Frankly, I think many men don't like talking about anything emotional, introspective, or artistic, whereas women do. C'est la difference!

It's been my experience that men like to talk about themselves
So, true, for many. However, beware of those who have acquired the art of turning the conversation towards you and not themselves. Those guys have ulterior motives. In a way, the braggarts and self-indulgent are up-front healthy males.

Offhand, I only know of three things that men really, really don't want to talk about.
Circumcision
Vasectomy
Anything a woman brings up after the statement, "We really have to talk!"

The only topic I can say with certainty men aren't interested in talking about is gossip.
I've only met one man in my life who is interested in gossip - this is outside of work, of course! And this guy even looked like an old biddy to me...he is round and soft and malicious.
But every other man I've known will just turn off in boredom - unless it's about sex..lol..but even THEN, they'll listen and then turn off in boredom.
