its nothing to do with how smart a person is, its more to do with how comfortable they are.
an orgasm starts in the mind, no matter how brainy or stupid you are.

Posted: 8/10/2008 2:59:22 AM | Alright, I'm hopping into the conversation without reading the last 8 pages. No offense or repetition intended.. I just don't have the time to read through it all right now.. I need to go get 'off' and get to bed. .. It's already going on 6 am.. geesh.
If what I'm saying has already been stated, then I apologize. Otherwise, here's something else.
My neuroscience professor, who is world renowned, a Canadian Lecturer winner, and has 'solved' situations with "Unsolved Mysteries" just to name some of this work taught us during one of our courses that the human sex drive is linked with our cortical columns. Now, without going into too many specific details, lets just say that the more intelligent a human is, the more cortical columns they tend to have and the more growth there is on the different dendritic branches. THE MORE corticial columns a person has the FASTER the BRAIN processes information. As such, people who are highly intelligent tend to process information faster than those who are less intelligent (and have less cortical columns). Another trends was noticed, and that was the fact that the more sexual the woman is may actually be directly linked to her intelligence as well.
So, whether they be men or women, the higher educated OR intelligent the woman is, the more LIKELY she or he is to be sexually active.. even to the point of becoming 'promiscuous'.
So yeah, the study is bullshit.. lol | |

As far as letting the thoughts go when you want to orgasm, it's just a matter of learning to let go, visualization, imagining the feeling of the orgasm to come and allowing your senses to take over.
It's no different really then meditation or learning to overcome pain, etc.
It honestly was an issue for me when I was younger but as I learned different techniques to let go of pain during sports, working out, etc; I realized I could apply that to most everything, including achieving multiple orgasms without one intelligent throught interrupting them!  | |

I am an intelligent woman and have had great sex with some men and so good with others. Good sex and orgasms come from knowing your self, what you like, and the connection with the other person. | |

Maybe they are having trouble having orgasms b/c they are German women. Maybe northern european/germanic women have a harder time orgasming in general. You know the stereotype of the pinched faced teutonic woman with the uptight demeanor that screams sexual repression.
Stereotyping much, are we?
As far as education goes in Germany, they have at least four different types of secondary schools, some ending after nine years, most after ten and one after twelve (it used to be 13). Anyway, this 'survey' doesn't ring true to me, either, since in my experience, the better educated and academically inclined people are, the more and better sex they tend to have. Don't ask me how I know this.

Ummm....ya those are good....back on topic. I completely disagree with this study, I think if anything it would be easier for smarter than average woman to get off, as they would have a more in depth understanding of their bodies, what does what, what functions how and how to make organs quiver. As well EVERYONE knows that smart ladies are freaks in the sack!   | |

A highly educated woman will generally see herself as being in a higher league. She will have more difficulty finding a man she considers highly desirable, and will probably end up feeling like she's settling. A woman's rating of the desirability of her partner, relative to herself, is one of the big factors in how likely she is to achieve orgasm.
Female orgasm increase the likelihood of pregancy. A woman is unlikely to orgasm if raped, or if she has sex with an undesirable man to gain favors. It's part of her body's way to protect itself against unwanted children. Similarly, a woman is less likely to orgasm in the middle of a stable long-term relationship, especially when she has kids to take care of. This is natural "family planning". Contrariwise, a woman is more likely to orgasm during an affair, or a one-night stand with a highly desirable man. That's the body trying to seize the opportunity to grab superior genes for its offspring while it has the chance.
There are a lot of other factors at play, but the more desirable a woman considers herself, the harder her body will resist climax.
Smart girls: don't settle. And make sure you find a guy who knows what he's doing. | |

Well, I don't know about the promiscuous part - but I do know that there was an extensive research study done at the University of Guelph on this.... and how it related to "life happiness" for both the male and the female.
They had three different personality types - both male and female - decided upon by an extensive survey. The three different personality types were:
1 - the party animals
2 - the bed gymnasts
3 - the smart ones
It was a study group of about 500 people, and there were several "dates" set up for several people within each group.... and both partners were surveyed after every sexual encounter. The "dates" were not just one time things either, as we are often not comfortable with someone the first or second time in bed with them..... although I don't recall how long each person "dated" a partner.
They found the party animals "needed" either booze or drugs to get into bed..... and they were often very selfish lovers. The gymnasts were so into trying this or that new position that they often left their partner wondering "huh?".... and were also not so much into satisfying their partner.
The overwhelming results were that while the smart people were more selective as to who they slept with.... and often would not even go near the party animal type... they were the best in bed by a significant amount. They were the most sexually liberal, and the most comfortable with their sexuality..... and although they were pickier, and took longer to warm up, once they got there, the sex was better and they were also more into satisfying their partner than the other groups.
BTW - they also did extensive surveys about 6 months after the study was done, and they found that the "smart" people were also the happiest with their lives, overall.
So yes.... I think I will go with smart men first.

Here's some food for thought. What if this intelligent woman knows nothing about sex?
For myself, I like a man who is educated about SEX. I find men who actually know more about ALL aspects of sex (human sexuality, STD's, activities for sex, toys etc.) to be a more interesting partner. I've also found people like that to be less of a braggart about "how good" they are. I've found that men who boast about their size or how they are "so good" tend to not be that educated. Someone who is interested in learning more or can admit they've never done that or wants to try something seems alot more open-minded to me. This doesn't mean they are promiscuous either. | |

mind is just too tense, focused on other issues, etc, it very possibly could prevent you from being completely relaxed and have an orgasm
but i still think smart german girls could have an orgasm! you could just dress up like
albert einstein or tattoo e+mc2 on your chest...that might just do it
