| Stand up comedians Posted: 4/29/2008 5:43:35 PM | Dave Allen, Chris Rock , Richard Prior , Ricky Gervais and that manic Geordie guy with the frizzy hair that chats sh*t about bollo*ks , but is very entertaining. I think his name may be Ross Noble but I'm not 100% certain.
Unfortunately I can't think of any women stand up comedians I would find remotely amusing. As an earlier poster pointed out they use comedy as a guise for bitc*ing about men , which is fine to a point but becomes tedious after about the 15th gag. Maybe I'm being a little harsh as Jo Brand does use other subject matter [well, one subject] Her weight.
In fact I could count on one hand the number of women who I've met, known or heard that are genuinely funny. Maybe thats why 99.9% of women look for a good sense of humour in a man. It must be to compensate for their lack of. Just a thought. Taxi for me.... Quick get me out of here

| Stand up comedians Posted: 4/29/2008 7:07:28 PM | Lee Evans is fantastic, but Dave Allen was untouchable - such a funny bloke | |
|
| Stand up comedians Posted: 4/30/2008 2:08:28 AM | Yes Dave Allen was great.
Jack Dee is one of my favourites. Appeals to the Victor Meldrew side of me :-)
Peter Kay ? I like him too.

Ok , right cheers Angie. I didn't really expect , or want the ladies to agree with me on this. In fact Angie I posted that remark hoping to wind a few women up. [Sssshh] We'll keep that just between ourselves though, yeh ?

Of course !! Yes, he is brilliant. And very good with hecklers too.
I was lucky enough to see him at The Comedy Store in London before he became famous.
I was in front row. Waiting for act to start. Sitting back on my seat with heels propped on edge of stage. He came out and asked me if I was in showbiz. I replied "No". He said "Get your ****ing feet off my stage then".

| Stand up comedians Posted: 4/30/2008 6:41:02 AM | Jimmy Carr is superb, hated him on that silly gameshow he had but seeing his live act he is brilliantly unpc. Marcus Brigstock, clever and thoughtful stand up Sean Locke, excellent series fifteen stories high and his stand up is clever too Mark Thomas, guy is a hero Rich Hall, regular guest on QI but brilliant stand up and handler of hecklers, his charcter Otis Lee Crenshaw is very funny too. and I'll say I used to like Peter Kaye but he's been churning out too many new versions of old acts lately.
Salad One. Just a Minute is very good, but you should have tried I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue.

| Stand up comedians Posted: 5/1/2008 12:27:11 PM | | Maybe the women was planted there, proberly all part of the act??? Surely if she wasnt she would have taken action against him by now. Alot of comedians pick on people, Julian Clary use to,, moral of this is dont sit in the front rows!!! I like Johnny Vegas and Eddie Izzard and many more too!!! | |

|
| Stand up comedians Posted: 5/5/2008 11:03:02 AM | les dawson ... Funny thing how you first meet the woman that you marry. I first met the wife in a tunnel of love. She was digging it ... The wife's Mother said, "When you're dead, I'll dance in your grave." I said: "Good, I'm being buried at sea." ... I went to my doctor and asked for something for persistent wind. He gave me a kite. RIP | |

| Stand up comedians Posted: 5/5/2008 11:10:46 AM | | Loving Ross Noble and Michael McIntyre at the moment! "I think you'll find this is LEGAL TENDER!" | |
|
| Stand up comedians Posted: 5/9/2008 8:43:57 AM | I saw Mr. Noble in Leeds a while back. You have to heckle him 'cos that's when he does his best stuff! Also that drunk guy from Black Books is comedy gold. I nearly died laughing! As for the best female stand up? My vote goes to Joan Rivers.. She's been kicking comedy bum since the 50's and still wipes the floor with the rest. What do u think? x | |
