I loved "Price is right" of course, but also "Match Game" "Dating Game" "Hollywood Squares" and my favorite was "Newlywed Game" Anyone else remember " That would be up the butt Bob?"

| Nostalgia Thread - favorite tv shows from when you were a kid Posted: 5/1/2008 9:32:25 PM | I'm older than dirt.
one show that featured Froggy the Gremlin ( Andy's Gang or The Buster Brown Show) was a real stand out. that damned frog would scare the holy shit out of me. a famous line from that show was "plunk your magic twanger, Froggy!!!! and the frog always did something mean (at least in my mind he did) and he'd disappear in a puff of smoke. he had an evil laugh that I remember all too well. although he was a rubber doll, there was a live black cat called Midnight as another character. Andy Devine was the 'human' part of the show. now years later, I won a 1948 Froggy doll on eBay, lol...............why? I have no idea.
i liked Mighty Mouse, Betty Boop, and few others even older than that. there was a stop-action cartoon of a little black boy with a black crow and a scarecrow that for the life of me I can't remember the name of. I've tried in vain to find info of it on the net.
there was Spin and Marty from the Mickey Mouse Show...........sigh, I had such a huge crush on them.
there were so many. | |

| Nostalgia Thread - favorite tv shows from when you were a kid Posted: 5/1/2008 9:37:18 PM | I've had life connections with some of the actors from my favorite shows - how about you (Don't you love living in California?)
The Rifleman - Went to school with Chuck Connor's kids. We used to play at his house. Knew him well. Also calf-roped (many years later) once with Johnny Crawford and later had dinner with him. Watch your steak around him. He had an awesome MGTC (I think - might have been a TD).
The RichardVan Dyke Show - Met****Van Dyke on a game show set with Wild Wild West star Ross Martin (Artemis Gordon).
One Day at a Time - I met Pat Harrington (Schnyder) at my dad's tailor shop. He showed me how to salute and in doing so - threw his rolex across the room. I met both Valerie Bertanelli and Makenzie Phillips at my kid's school.
The Beverly Hillbillies - I met Max Baer (Jethro) sereral times and he got me an autographed group picture of the entire cast. (Wonder if it's worth anything).
Superman - I met George Reeves at my dad's tailor shop (I actually saw him in his boxers ). I've still got the picture he autographed for me.
Nostalgia feels even stronger when you have these special moments to look back on.
