If one were to explore why this has been so, the answer to the subject is clear. Prostitution provides variety, instant release to a purely physical need and helps cement marriage. Man, and I am sure women too, need variety in sex and this need is very important. If this remains unfulfilled, it leads to several psychological problems. The best way to satisfy this need is to seek paid sex ( if prostitute is a bad word) and be done with. Disease and crime are history now... with young professionals seeking fun and quick buck willing to provide a helping hand. Condoms have almost eliminated the dangers of disease. I am trying to be a devil's advocate. Thoughts??? | |

Abstinence, having a partner you know, and knowledge of the spreading of std's prevent the further spread of these diseases. I won't even begin to say anything on the rest of the last post. Ah well...the uninformed have their OWN opinions, doesn't mean we have to take 'em seriously.
Sry BM....but YES...condoms DO help stop the spread of disease. Depends on the type of condom you use, and your choice of partners too!

Anyhow's....I still sanction legalized and monitored prostitution. Many countries have already done so, knowing that they are NEVER going to rid themselves of this situation. Much the same as decriminalizing drug use and putting it into a health problem sector rather than a criminal section.

In what way? Many people go to prostitutes for their own reasons. It's been around since the beginning of times. In the 18 century, aristocrats used to see them on a regular basis.
Remember the film "Gigi, with Maurice Chevalier." Big corporations, for business deals , use the services of sex workers. Actors like Charlie Sheen, Hugh Grant and others have used their services. Hollywood has even used the concept and made a cinderella story with it :"Pretty woman" Staring:Julia Robert The real threat of prostitution is not the diseases (condoms) or the legality of it (some people are willing to take the risk) the real danger in my opinion is its effect on the seduction game. People who like to play hard to get would not be happy, because the average person would not invest time and effort with these people since they have an another alternative.
