But the community will always cry out about anything that crosses the line of the Status Quo, good or bad.

| Re: Are prostitutes the solution? Posted: 7/8/2004 11:14:10 PM | | well, everything i sold, or rented was approved by The Government of Ontario. It's cost me to pay them about 50 bucks per item, on top of what I paid. My store was in a totally commercial district, and out of the way. I was one of the first people ever to open a sex shop in Ontario. I had fun, and I loved it... | |

Escort services not same as prostitution? Sure it is,either way you're paying for sex.Only difference is a prostitute works on the streets and has a pimp but as far as paying for sex it is the same damn thing.

| Re: Are prostitutes the solution? Posted: 7/16/2004 5:32:28 PM | | Prostitution is a very vague term and basically means anyone that has sex for money...there are many types of prostitues...street walkers, bar girls, call girls, escorts, etc. Just clearing that up. | |

I agree with you. | |

| Re: Are prostitutes the solution? Posted: 7/19/2004 1:07:31 PM | | there is a difference prostitution and escorts. escorts are dates without the expectation of sex, that pay for. dates could mean anything movies, dinner, or going to a play. prostitution is gauranteed sex regardless of what you're doing whether it's a date or not. i have known "escorts" that will not have sex. they are offering male companionship without sex. | |

No there is no difference.I agree escorts are dates but not without the expectation of sex, most guys who hire an escort are expecting to get laid.
Escorts are meant for having as a companion for movies, dinners, or going to a play etc as you stated, but it is guaranteed you will also be able to have sex with an escort. All escorts dress sexy knowing you are going to eventually want them in the sack.To me that sure sounds like prostitution since you still have to pay for the services.
Very few guys who hire an escort do not sleep with them.
Personally I don't agree with money for sex, however I do think the gov't should make it legal, but only so that the street prostitutes don't have to worry about having a pimp and will be safer. As long as prostitutes have pimps, there will be violence, rape and even murder sometimes.
Like the average person prostitutes should be charged taxes.
I don't think prostitution is the solution but legalizing it may be so.
To the person who said that condoms stop diseases, then I ask why is it 95% of prostitutes in Vancouver have aids despite the use of condoms being used ?
Condoms only reduce they don't completely prevent diseases but they do prevent pregnancy 9 out of 10 times.

I wonder where you get your facts! Not true, since I know the Main Administrator for the Needle Exchange Program.

In fact, STD's are at an all-time low, due to extensive media coverage in the last 20 years. The data I do have, although informally, that in a period of a year with approx. 5,000 different patients of one 6 Doctor medical clinic, approx. 5 - 10 cases of ghonerhea were treated.
AIDS is pretty much history in North America anyways, and you are more likely going to die being run over in traffic that contacting a fatal sexually transmitted disease.

| Re: Are prostitutes the solution? Posted: 8/16/2004 2:09:45 PM | | i understand what you are saying but escort services are not prostitution. what about when you go to strip bar. girls know you want to have sex with them, isn't that a form of prostitution? as guys are expecting to get laid? | |
|
| Re: Are prostitutes the solution? Posted: 8/16/2004 6:27:34 PM | | Escort services are prostitution. Any type of sexual encounter which requires you to pay, either the girl or her "Business" is considered prostitution. | |
|
| Re: Are prostitutes the solution? Posted: 8/16/2004 9:08:45 PM | In a strip bar you get f*CK#d. But you don't get laid. I like sitting away from the stage. Preferably behind the guy spending a lot of money. ;) | |

No not the same at all.The girls may know guys are expecting to get laid but that doesn't mean the strippers are going to put out, their job is to entertain with taking their clothes off not to have sex. Some strippers might put out after work for money but then that becomes prostitution.
In general stripper and prostitute or escort are different. You're guaranteed sex with prostitute or escort but not with a stripper.

| Re: Are prostitutes the solution? Posted: 8/17/2004 1:49:48 AM | I know somebody who goes to escorts and prostitutes which I am against but it's his choice. His reason is whether you have sex with a girl you meet at a bar, girlfriend,or escort and prostitutes you are paying for it one way or another.
He says no girl is going to sleep with a guy who never spends money on her for example to get laid from someone in bar you're going to have to be willing to buy her at least one drink or more,if she's your girlfriend you got to buy her gifts for birthday, christmas and sometimes just to show how you feel about her,so he says what's the difference. He also say sometimes even after all that spending money on her you're still not guaranteed sex.
I know he has a very good point there but it's the idea that i don't agree with.At least with a girlfriend you know she cares about you whether she puts out or not and know you'll eventually get it especially if you marry her.A girlfriend will be there everytime you're feeling down where as an escort and prostitute won't.
He says that's different though because obviously if you're going to an escort or prostitute it is only sex you are thinking of at that moment, but either way you pay for it.
Who here would agree with my friend?

| Are prostitutes the solution? Posted: 3/29/2005 12:46:52 PM | Oh, hell yeah! I have considered moving to VEgas or Reno just for that.
If you wrap the moving parts with enough plasitc, you shoudln't catch anything lethal.
Besides, I can make some pretty convincing arguements that most relationships are just prostitution without receipt of purchase. Riddle me this, how often you here a guy say "Yeah, she's hot, but she doesn't have a job" or "Her job was going no where so I dumped her." Bull sh-t! Men don't care about that, and SOME women do (not all I know).
So I think there is a health portion of the whole "guys=powerful women=sexy" syndrome all over this country. Why not notice the elephant in the room and just legalize it?

| Are prostitutes the solution? Posted: 3/29/2005 12:52:19 PM | There are two difference between prostitution and dating: 1. You ARE going to get laid with a prostitute. 2. Dating is more expensive and frustrating. | |
|
| Are prostitutes the solution? Posted: 3/29/2005 1:13:19 PM | | Prostitutes must be the solution by the way all my threads about casual sex and the dating/mating game have been answered. Some women get all bent about the idea of sleeping with somone just for sex.I guess that's primarily a guy thing but I have known a few rare jewels of the female persuasion who could do the fuk buddy thing.Seriously though,if you get tired of waxing the carrot, and you don't want a relationship and you can't find a fuk buddy, what else is there?.......Go ahead,I'm listening. | |
