Posted: 5/17/2008 2:30:29 AM | Strawberry is a great place to meet up beforehand especially if you are going to Shearers alone. I was welcomed by Judith etc on my first POF night out and because of them now look forward to meeting up in there, not apprehensive about going in alone.
Judith, Mick, Jeff, Wendy are brilliant at making people feel welcome and makes me a lot more confident about walking into shearers afterwards.
Recomend it to anyone who is coming along - along or not - see you on the 30th

For anyone who doesn't want to go into Shearer's by yourselves;
There are some of us who meet in The Strawberry before going to Shearer's. You could always join us in there. You are very welcome.
Or, you could always arrange to meet with other POF in a different pub/place if you want, it's up to you.
We meet in the Strawberry as we are made welcome, don't stand out (too much), and it's very close to Shearer's bar. The idea is simple; to meet up beforehand so as not to go into Shearer's alone! It works for us, and it has become a pre-event event if you know what I mean?
P.S. Everyone is their own person, can go alone or join us!

Posted: 5/17/2008 6:35:33 PM | Sorry i'm just not a fan of small crowded pubs & the toilets were a disgrace in there & ovioulsy are not being cleaned on a regular basis!!! I dont have to like the place that is my opinion!!! I much prefer it in Shearers & will always go there first :o)!!! Was'nt intended to put people off, i'm just saying wht i thought of it!!! then people can make up there own minds, i'm not trying to stop people from going!!!

Posted: 5/18/2008 11:17:28 AM | Hey GeordieChick, don't worry about knowing who people are. Just try and remember some of the pics of us who say we are meeting there. Not only that, but we normally keep an eye out for people who are by themselves, and ask if they are going to the POF night.
So we may spot you before you see us!
