I find that phone sex can be a great form of foreplay. Especially if you're having to wait a day or a few hours to see someone. It gets you thinking, so to speak. I also never paid for phone sex...that just seems redundant.
Although, I don't know if what I do personally can really be called phone sex. I've tried the whole talking-about-penis-in-vagina phone sex and it makes me laugh. So, I basically usually just enjoy myself and let the guy hear the sounds I make and vice versa. It's not so embarassing and it gives me a chance to let my mind go wild with ideas rather than have to stick to the picture the person is creating for me.
I guess you could say it all depends on how you're wired. Someone said they're a visual guy so phone sex doesn't work for them. I personally have written erotica before so I don't think it's so far fetched to listen to something like erotica. If that makes any sense. I think that sexuality is often misunderstood in terms of how an orgasm or even just the sex itself can be built up. It doesn't have to be started right when you see each other. Like I mentioned, phone sex can be a form of foreplay to get your gears...lubed? and ready for the main event. So, in conclusion I enjoy phone sex, but not the typical kind. I suppose it could be called mutual masturbation over the phone.  | |

1) telling stories: You go back-and-forth telling a sex story... turning each other on and role-playing. This only works if both you and the girl are very creative and almost like writers... cause details are key, and you have to be a good storyteller.
