| Looking for a female... Am I weird because this bothers me? Posted: 5/4/2008 11:44:15 PM | I just wanted to know what other people thought of the subject. Maybe even find out why people did it. Somehow it turned into me being some crazy "Mommy Dearest"-type with my priorities in all the wrong places.
Go figure. | |

I can no longer keep track of what I should or should not feel bothered by. I'm also leary these days as to what I can and can not say to persons of either gender for fear of instigating a gender war. Good one, Solitary.
I'm offended by the use of "gender" which mysteriously and suspiciously replaced the word "sex" to describe the difference between, well...the sexes. Gender used to refer to whether a noun, in foreign languages that bore distinctions, was masculine or feminine (or in the case of German in particular, neither!).

Heck, maybe I should just head on over to the single parents forums. There I'm not trying to socially castrate men, I'm just trying to financially castrate them.
Dang! I used the words 'women' and 'men'. Sorry.

Posted: 5/18/2008 11:18:52 AM | | Ok...from a Guy's point of view....Damn straight you should be bothered....My opinion is any fella' who uses the neutral term "female" has some major issues. He obviously doesn't have an appreciation of what a Woman really is,is scared to death of a real Woman or is so into himself that he can't recognize a Woman as a unique individual or a real person...

It is also the broadest term to encompass whatever other word a female might use. Some females like to be called ladies, others think it is an obsolete term belonging to the evil empire of male chauvinism. Some think the word woman is too informal and disrespectful. And now here you are objecting to the use of the word female. My guess is that other things bother you, too. And the list is very long.
