ROFLMAO ... A friend of mine ;) had this happen to her. A new bed was being delivered, and the old one taken away ... except there was - shall we say - an "item" still in/on/behind the mattress, she's not sure where it had strayed to. Just that it came into plain view as the old mattress was being moved out. No one moved for a few seconds, the silence was deafening. The "evidence" was whisked away, and everyone carried on as if they had seen nothing, except for the bright shade of red on all faces.
But you know those guys are still telling that story.
I think the Big Fish In Charge could start an ancillary dating site, where you meet when you exchange favors in your area of expertise for favors in someone else's. Just by signing up you'd be self selecting as part of the group that does not object to that mindset, and those who do object won't be subject to it. | |

I can tell you from experience that this is NOT funny!
 When I moved a few months ago, and I needed MEN, not just one MAN, something was left on the floor after they picked up the bed. I damned near died when I walked into my bedroom and found it on the floor. If the men saw it, they sure never said anything!

The relationship wasn't stable so I broke things off. I have learned to do many things on my own..and paid other people to do other things for me as well. Never underestimate your power of learning and trying new things. If you'r like me and need a handyman..ask your friends or pay someone to do it.
So...if anyone out their can put 2 light fixtures up for me..get in touch with me. I'm a great cook..I can make you a home cooked meal in exchange or pay you.

...I had a friend (it really was a friend) that got so mad at her husband she threw one of the "toys" out the window. There it landed right on the sidewalk, in plain view.....people coming out of church were stepping over it ....can you imagine the looks on their faces haha

I put my door on two weeks ago and yes ever though I did put it on, I still had to get someone to hold it up while I put the screws back. Not as simple as replacing it thought. The side window, key lock and inside panels had to be changed. It took my a whole day but I did it. I have fixed my lawn mower four times. I fixed my tv. I alway change my own oil, plug , starters ect in my car. I have my own chair saw and cut down trees every year. | |

Posted: 5/25/2008 7:41:55 AM | Well I grew up with a wonderful father who could not even change a plug on a lamp cord. He washed his cars religiously but did not believed me when I said something was wrong with the right front wheel. The wheel bearing cracked, ruining both hub and spindle. To be honest, I was ashamed of his igorance and took the time to educate myself against such matters.
I did learn a while ago that fixing things is not the way to a lady's heart, though it might have something to do with staying there. I also learned that not fixing things that bother my lady is a good way out of her heart! I have met ladies who are competent with tools and I admire them for taking the time to become so. 
As far as exchanging favors, I have done that and felt good about it. I have also had my share of "I don't know what to do, help me!" calls in the middle of the night, and I have noticed that the idea of responding in kind got short shrift. Just because I can fix your car and your computer does not mean that I want to do so for for the sheer joy of it! But charging batteries??? Well that is another story! 
I once asked one of these "crisis friends" what she planned to do in return, if I came over and fixed her car. She offered no ideas on that subject, so I suggested cleaning my apartment. She was insulted that I would suggest something that would actually take some effort on her part! She thought that letting me buy her dinner was adequate compensation. Ummm ... I gave her the name of a good garage that had a towing service. Only to glad to help! | |

Have tools and skills up the ying yang, can build a house,install all plumbing and electrical,have rebuilt cars from the ground up, but it seems my skills are unwanted.
