Question about lawn mowers...

Hmmm....
goat, sheep, mule, ass, horse...

Hey, I used to have an ass mow my lawn!!! Yes, worked fairly well, except he was such an idiot every time he'd mow over an old shoe or rope or whatever he could find to tangle up in the blades....

Of course, I'm divorcing the ass.

Maybe I'll try a goat next time!

Toys are more fun when shared

Absolutely - except for power tools - I don't share those well.

I've got about 2 1/2 acreas of green to mow and I use an old hand me down mulching mower that is not self propelled. I look forward to getting out there and mowing - even the hills - because it gives me a lot of exercise. I call it my beast because it'll go over most anything and I have a great time tackling tall weeds & such. Of course, if there was to be a hot man out there without a shirt mowing my lawn, I wouldn't object.

Hope the new mower works out for you OP. What a great idea to post that here!

Take a look at Snapper, Craftsman, and Toro. All have smaller selfpropelled home owner models.

Hey girl I had an electric mower that I also banished, but to a friend so he could do mean things to it. I got tired of spicing my power cord and uwrapping it from my trees...lol.So I got one of those people powered mowers, the kind where the faster you push the faster you mow. It has a bag that is too easy to empty,no cords to cut...lol,no noise, easy to sharpen and the bonus is it only cost me $80.00. I also have a huge yard and I find my new mower does a great job,I love it and I'm not flirting with electrocution anymore...

Back when I had a house (things have happened and now I live in a townhouse I MISS MY SOLITUDE!) I had two lawn mowers in my time er three....one was an old push lawn mower I can't even remember the name of but the first riding lawn mower I had actually came with the house when we bought it and was a craftsman it ran great for an older lawn mower and then I had a john deer really recommend lookin into those as well. I say just go and take a look and get what you will like best don't let the person there push you into buying something that HE/SHE wants you to get. And take a friend with you, one who knows about lawn mowers a bit and can help you choose ^_^.

Too funny Kaylie! I remember the days when I had an ass to cut it too!!! I think I will be laughing about that comment for days :)

Happyrebel,...I hear you. I use to actually enjoy the exercise too until it got to the point I had to rip on the stupid cord 50 times to get the thing started and it rattled so hard I could feel the vibrations in my jaw lol. I haven't used the new one yet. Dr. said I had to wait one more week! But I do love to get outside and do some yard work!

$80 Lady? I am soooo jealous! I wanted to use the money to buy some patio furniture but I think my shoulder will thank me for the investment in a new lawn mower!

Now, if I could just get my stupid snowblower to start when I have 10 inches of snow I will be in business!
