| Help..........cat poo!! Posted: 5/7/2008 2:06:14 AM | Is it my imagination or are there lots of pooey discussions at the mo?
Hmm
Anyway, yest to orange peel and anything citrussy, they don't like that. My Grandad always had orange peel scattered around the garden. Another trick was a big plastic pop bottle half filled with water left lying around, they don't seem to like that much either.

My neighbour tried that one ... my cats used to love going in to her garden first thing in the morning to lick the dew off the pop bottles, then crap in her flower beds!

Cat do like dug up mud and shingle, so best thing is to concrete your garden all over

| Help..........cat poo!! Posted: 5/7/2008 6:35:37 AM | Put down pepper, it burns their bums.
Also they hate the smell of oranges and lemons, so put some rind down amongst your chippings

| Help..........cat poo!! Posted: 5/7/2008 8:23:06 AM | I have just sprinkled my freshly mown lawn with hot curry powder,it doesnt half stink out there now but i have been assured it will keep the cats away. Though now i am scared that the cats will just consume the powder and end up with a runny bummy all over my grass. ..
Problem rectified sjs as the kids washing it away as i type with her little plastic watering can.Ihave no interest in harming cats though neither do i wish for my child to be covered in nasty cat faeces!!

| Help..........cat poo!! Posted: 5/7/2008 8:29:37 AM | Oh dear.
I should warn you that both pepper and curry powder will damage a cats (or dogs or any other animals) nasal passages!
You could do permanent damage to all the neighbourhood pets/rodents etc!
Wash it away! | |

| Help..........cat poo!! Posted: 5/13/2008 12:07:25 AM | I had the same probem in my front... I put down al the mice bark mulch down... only to have the cats poop on it!! I did end up digging it all up and replacing it with purple slate!!
However I don't want you to feel despondant yet!! There is something you can get to deter casts that conatins lion poo.... I have no idea what its called I was told about it before when I was having problems. I did try the conventionall cat deterrernt sprays but without much success. I didnt try the ultrasonic ones though so might be worth investigation??

| Help..........cat poo!! Posted: 5/13/2008 2:46:43 AM | | My nan used to stop the cats from coming in her garden by gettin lion poo from Knowsley safari park or Chester zoo!!! she would place it in discreet places in her garden and the scent of a really hoooge cat puts domestic cats off from coming anywhere near!! She used to swear by it but personally it think it might have been her dog that kept the cats away lol | |

| Help..........cat poo!! Posted: 5/13/2008 4:04:09 AM | The local cats use my garden as a toilet at my house I'm renovating. Partly my fault as I don't mow the grass as often as I should. Long grass is a nice easy target for them though.
By far the most disgusting thing I have ever experienced is mowing over some cat poo! Oh my god the smell and it seems to stay around for ages too.
Maybe there is a gap in the market here for cat repellant. The lion poo idea sounds good, but does it smell worse than the cat poo originally????

| Help..........cat poo!! Posted: 5/13/2008 9:54:06 AM | | Try cutting some holly branches and placing them in a criss-cross position on your beds. The little blighters don't like the prickles on their bottoms. Also they hate water, so I keep a couple of water pistols ready for action by my back door. | |
