| How many meets have you had from POF?
Posted: 5/7/2008 3:18:47 AM | I didn't count them, but I was on the site as a singleton for about 8 months and I was in danger of becoming a serial dater!! At one point I was out with a different bloke every other day, but most of the dates didn't go beyond initial contact...if there's no spark, there's no point. I did keep in touch with a few, and we're still friends today.
I decided to stop dating so much because it was going nowhere, and kept one last date I'd agreed to the week before....turned out to be a wonderful guy, and we've been seeing each other for nearly 9 months now! POF works, but you have to speculate to accumulate!! I'm not into endless chatting online, I'd rather meet, talk, see if there's anything worth pursuing, and move on if there isn't! I can't be arsed with cyber sex, I'd rather be doing it than talking about it!
Nowhere near beating Macforty's record though.....wow.....you must be worn to a nub by now!

Well I havent seen said 'nub' but he tells me that it is still in full working order and not worn at all. However, I am yet to find out!! 
OT: I have been on several one to one meets and several of the organised meets. Enjoyed every one of them, but not found my 'one and only' just yet, but he may be just around the corner. Come out come out where ever you are!!!  | |

If only it was the same for guys on here I'd love to be able to just meet more people and see if things work out but if women won't even reply to messages never mind arrange to meet there isn't a hope really. Also if guys speculate to accumulate they quickly acquire the title of player. | |

Second recently divorced and within two hours I started to reply to his ex wifes name...computer said NO.
Third we are still very good friends and chat daily, met for dinner several times.
Fourth a complete nitemare. Unplugged computer to stop it blowing up. | |

I have had poss 3 or 4 from here..none of them had that spark...apart from possibly the last one..however it cant have been there for him..or he would have called lol

It wasn't even a meet really lol
I have met one guy on here though properly & we got on great!
He's a sweet guy but a total commitment phobe so we've just become friends as he's not really what I'm looking for.
I'm still hopeful though that I could meet someone speacial here & be more than friends :) | |

In effect it's a numers game, almost like telesales, and the more people you meet the more likely you are to find someone you really get on with.
As regards Mac's comment about meeting early etc, I understand his point, but many people are nervous or don't have the time or money to invest in so many meets. The whore :P
My time is precious, so I'd chat first and see what common ground and/or attraction there was there.
Personally I used MSN or mail first, and then chat on the phone and then meet. I do have to say that talking for a very long time is a bad idea, though, as you can't help but form an opinion on someone. I'd say if you are webcamming and chatting that it might be a bit different, but if someone has that 4 year old pic, 20lbs lighter and when you meet them looks completely different... ouch.
Everyone I met I liked or got on with well, and I've met some great people and a few have become good friends... and a few I need to catch up with as I've been so busy with work and stuff of late | |
