| THINGS ALL MEN SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO WELL Posted: 5/8/2008 1:16:23 PM | My sisters bf can't change a tire on his car.... He doesn't have the savvy to operate a jack, in fact if you showed him one, he wouldn't know what it was..
AND he sends his BICYCLE to the shop to have the chain lubed & the tire pressure checked...
I think she must be dating Richard Simmons...
|
| THINGS ALL MEN SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO WELL Posted: 5/8/2008 1:27:12 PM | ^^^My mom DESCRIBED how to changed a tire when I first learned to drive. I don't think she has ever actually done it herself, but when I got my first flat, I was able to change it the right way.
Fixing bike tires? That is what Dad helped teach me...

Good luck to you and your ignorant, sniping generalizations.
And yes, I would rather do without than get involved with someone like you.

And yes, I would rather do without than get involved with someone like you. ^^^Whew... That was a close one!
Good luck to you and your ignorant, sniping generalizations. <----*Ignorance is bliss... ^^^^^^(and, uh... hoping to stay that way with you.)
Enjoy your celibacy... you asked for it!
|
| THINGS ALL MEN SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO WELL Posted: 5/8/2008 2:24:31 PM | Actually, Jade, I said someone LIKE you...not YOU.
No offense, but I don't find you attractive.
And who said anything about celibacy? You think because I am picky about who I'm in a relationship with that I don't ever get any? That's a big assumption (and wrong).

| THINGS ALL MEN SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO WELL Posted: 5/8/2008 3:05:50 PM | since were on the topic already, heres some things WOMEN should know how to do well:
kill spiders, check her own damn oil/tire pressure, fist fighting (hair pulling/slapping only if she's hot), hang up the cell and watch the road, load/shoot a gun, leave the toilet seat up, ask a guy out/pick up a guy, ponytails, break into her own car to retrieve her keys, whiskey shots, ask him to wear a condom (no glove no love), mow the lawn, pee behind a closed gas station, travel without falling asleep in the car, shave your kitty, roll the trash can out on pickup day, swallow, if you got em -flash em!, back out of a garage/driveway without sideswiping anything, use your middle finger in public, punish your cat for mis-behaving, gamble -or know the rules -(poker,blackjack, roulette, craps), never cut your hair, know enough about sports to not be interested,

| THINGS ALL MEN SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO WELL Posted: 5/8/2008 8:09:21 PM | Tell the difference between playful banter and personal attacks.
Coupla' comments on this.
1) Many of us guys were raised under the old rules, only to have the privileges that we thought we were due stripped from us. It was quite a rip-off in a way, because we'd already paid a price for those privileges. Some of that political re-education was pretty brutal. Perhaps some of it was necessary, but we weren't all just unconscious chauvanistic pigs at heart. We just didn't know any better and wanted to keep what we thought was ours.
To this day no woman has yet come up to me and said, "sorry, that must have really sucked." So I can understand it when a guy gets a little touchy and mistakes playful banter for male bashing and repartee as a personal attack. For many long years, it wasn't playful and repartee was really just a shanking in disguise.
2) We guys have had to put up with the nasty feedback from our unconscious faux pas for 3 decades now. So ladies, when you're working the edge of inappropriateness, you might just want to bear in mind that a guy or two might get triggered. Does that make him a jerk to be shanked and dismissed? Or do you need to look at whether or not you might have just crossed a line without meaning to?
In this case, it looks like a misunderstanding to me, but another thing a guy really should know how to do is:
Back off, take responsibility, and make amends promptly when you inadvertently cross a line.
I'll leave it to others to say whether or not women should develop this skill as well.

| THINGS ALL MEN SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO WELL Posted: 5/10/2008 10:32:12 AM | *Learn how to make others who are with them comfortable before themselves...
but of course, that brings thing #2, which is
*Learn to be a gentleman, but not be made a fool of, especially by predacious personalities; female OR male... learn to defend yourself verbally if necessary and when it's appropriate to do it.
*Learn to cook at least good enough to fix yourself and your woman a desirable meal. You don't have to be Bobby Flay, but something not fried...kay?
*keep your orifices clean and trim.... not have nose hair an inch out of your nose... or ear hair an inch out of your ear... get that ear wax cleaned off... don't have breath that smells like someone cooking pig guts... (chitlins)
*Be abit sociable and not just grunt at people you've been introduced to. Don't make all other men your wife or g/f introduces you to feel like you consider them an enemy.

| THINGS ALL MEN SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO WELL Posted: 5/11/2008 1:01:56 PM | I always try to make others feel good about what they do for me. If someone takes the trouble to fix me a good meal, I let them know I appreciate it. I'll do dishes and clean up... I'll even fix THEM food next time... If someone looks nice for me, I'll tell them how nice they look. If someone fixes me a cake for my birthday, I'll let them know I appreciate it... even if it's not my favorite flavor. This isn't just for men... People don't treat each other as nicely as they should, in my opinion... and men are the worst offenders. | |

| THINGS ALL MEN SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO WELL Posted: 5/11/2008 1:47:46 PM | I think a man should know how to do many things well, as should a woman - sexist or not, there are guy things and there are girl things........ but I'd like for MY man to know how to do this as well as he can :
love me with his whole heart............
and I'd do it right back for him.........

Sharpen a god damn knife. I was at a buddy's house the knives were so damn dull it was dangerous. Terrible way to treat a Wuestof. Had to go get the stone out of the trunk and finish sharpening it up on the bottom of a porcelain cup.
