I agree, but that wasn't the point. I was responding to another post and merely wanted to point out that there are men who are married to escorts who don't know what their wives do. In my opinion, if a man is giving his wife the attention she should expect, it wouldn't be possible for her to do that.
but they're sleeping with others which could endanger the health of their spouses.
Not in either of their cases.
Why did they bother getting married? No offense to you abelian, but your friends that you mentioned are low-lifes in my books.
Since you know very little about the entire situation, you are making an uninformed judgement. The point wasn't about whether they are right or wrong. In my opinion, they should probably get divorced,

No, people cheat on their spouses often because they're not getting the attention they want, they don't go out and have sex for money. Huge difference. I don't condone cheating either. As for endangering health, unless they use a layer of 10 condoms that don't come off, there's always a risk. Condoms can tear or come off and it just takes one little accident...

I think it's informed enough to know what's right and wrong. Even if the marriage was horrible, you don't go out and sell yourself and make the situation worse. I don't need to know the entire situation, I can decide easily enough given the few details I have.  | |

When you marry a prostitute you will have to pay her a whole lot more to get here to leave. That what divorce is all about, paying the whore to leave. If it is one from here in America your odds of it working are almost zero. Even worse are strippers, they are the bottom of the barrel as they are whores that don't put out, total users. Porn stars like stripper are damaged goods, usually addicted to hard drugs, pretty much worthless. A prostitute from another country and your odds go up a lot, but it is still no guarantee by far. Nothing wrong with renting. And you pay a whole lot less to get her to leave.
Hmmm someone sounds bitter... Either he really knows all the prostitutes, strippers, and porn stars (which isn't likely) or he's been turned down by them.  | |

I agree that there is nothing morally wrong with it, but the cost of regulating it properly would be so high that the profession itself would be extremely expensive thus driving many to go "underground" and continue the illegal hooking.
Imagine someone charging you 1000 dollars per hour for sex. This would cover the license to be a ho plus quarterly inspections and renewal, the STD testing, the cost of running the "cat house," and maintenance of appearances and hygiene of the girls. All of these things are nice and would making prostitution legal and regulated, but many would still go right down the street to the nasty dirty ones charging only peanuts for sexual favors.

That depends and you make the case for not doing so, perfectly below:

As it stands, prostitutes have a financial incentive to be tested regularly. Those who advertise on the internet are not going to be the streetwalkers (who should be avoided) and it won't take long before a prostititute with an std gets a lot of bad pr. Regulating it will do nothing because the only prostitutes who would be willing to register and be regulated are those who have already been arrested and have their names in public records. Most of those will be streetwalkers. Since the majority of prostitutes expect to get out and revert to normal lives, having their name registered as a prostitute in public records and submitting to regulation will not be taken seriously. The higher class escorts will still operate outside the law as independents. | |

I deliberately left out the reason that giving their hubbies an std was not going to happen to see if you could figure it out, since the reason apparently hadn't occurred to you. | |

They weren't playing games, or trying to steal anyone's spouse.. they weren't lying. They weren't sleeping with people to try to "get someone to love them".. and then whining that they'd been "used". They were straight up about what they were about. MOST of them had significant others... (GEEZ, so many Pro's with partners... must be SOME people who date them).
I would take a Pro over a cheater anyday... no, not the one's who are so messed up from horrible childhoods or addictions that selling sex is the only way they know how to survive.., they've been so terribly damaged by abusive parents or the system that they feel their only worth is their sexuality (and for those who like to toss the word "whore" around.. think about THAT - CRAP I hate judgmental holier than thou types) but I know Pro's who've chosen that as their vocation..or as a way to make ends meet while they pursue other things, they are smart, clean and driving that Mercedes.. or working their way through graduate school, or paying off the house.
Most people aren't even AWARE of how many people around them are prostitutes... shite!
Most Pro's are WAY MORE CAREFUL than we are about STD's because their livelihood depends on it. sheesh.

It's not about we are soooooo much better then prostitutes or other people. It's about not wanting to be with someone who is having sex with you and a whole bunch of other people at the same time.I don't take sex lightly and I don't have casual sex. Does this make me a better human being ? No ,but it is how I believe I should live my life . What I want in my partner is someone who agrees and believes that this is how he should live his life as well. How others live theirs is of no concern to me at all . | |
