People will make up anything that seems to support their beliefs...
During natural disasters, horrible accidents, wars, terrorist attacks (like 9/11)...
when sick or dying.....do people pray more, even if they have never prayed or
believed in God before?
Answer: YOU BET!!!!
ON TOPIC: If someone is seeking another Christian or person of their same faith, it does NOT mean they aren't tolerant of other's beliefs...you can respect another's faith without having to DATE them......
Seriously, why is it so complicated to understand the concept of being
EQUALLY YOKED???? Most fit people want another person who is fit and all seem to accept that as logical. Why should FAITH, a characteristic that is SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT, be treated any differently??

Seriously, what you see is what I am, baby...no hypocrisy here...I may not fit YOUR definition of "PIOUS" but you also don't know a thing about how I live my life....what I do or how I do it....but God does...he sees EVERYTHING.... God will judge me and I am FINE with that.

I have body builder friends that compete and have their pictures everywhere. I have had friends that model and have some pictures in undergarments. If you will notice I also have chaps on and horrible hair from when I took my helmet off. I was on a motorcycle going to the Grand Canyon. I did take off my leather coat when I walked around the park but not my chaps.
I have many picture of myself in bikinis but I would not put them on my public profile then thump the bible. I wouldnt put them on my profile at all. Religion has nothing to do with morals which is my point. | |

Wow, that's 8 out of 10 American's that are un-religious!
I find that is true. There are lots of people who don't go to church. Or believe in a God or higher power, but don't really practice their beliefs.
Please don't take this wrong, but I am curious : with all the NON- religious people, why do you have problems with talking to someone who believes in what you believe in?
It sounds like you have it easier than a person who is looking for love, with the same religious beliefs. Their search is quite more narrow than yours.

This is true. Which is probably why to those people that it IS important to? When they meet people that aren't of the same faith as them? That they just keep them as friends, not dates.

Umm....didn't you just contradict yourself there? "Fit people want fit people, so why shouldn't *certain* religious-minded folk seek out *other* religious-minded folk...especially since you just said it is a characteristic SO MUCH MORE important?? 
OP, I have no idea why some people put cheesecake/beefcake shots up, and then add to their profile that they're looking for someone "God-minded". One would think, though, that God knows we all have a body (after all didn't He make them?) so I guess it's what we choose to do with our free will after that. Frankly, God wouldn't enter into it for me, in that case....I would just think it was a person with low self-esteem that thought they had no other better features to offer the world, and pass them by. But, different strokes for different folks, and all that...who's to say what's right or wrong, just what's right or wrong for YOU. | |

But I do think that some religions do teach different morals, ethics, ethos, etc. etc. I agree that believing in what I read in the Bible doesn't contridict taking care of oneself. Taking care of yourself and being proud of it is not wrong. I don't see there being bad morals in anyone having photos on the net in bikinis, men or women.
Almost no clothing was worn into the 1800's in some countries, but the Christian Missionaries went to these countries and said it was wrong and the styles changed. I don't feel the people that just had a covering below were immoral. That is what happened to Native Americans. The native group located in Virginia did not wear clothing until they were in their teens. Of course once the ships landed that slowly changed.
I don't "thump" Bibles, I read them and will talk to people about the stories I have read. | |

Well Lottie, the Cleavage for Jesus crowd might thump their bibles, but they don't spend much time reading them if they think hangin' out (so to speak) online is the message from the New Testament. Modern America has a new type of Church - the Church of Jesus Christ, Validator. This Jesus is basically a dude who walks by your side, and tells you whatever it is you've a mind to do is just exactly what He would do. Divorced three or four times, multiple affairs? He's down with that. Credit cards all maxed out? Well so are His.
Probably about the most fundamental message of Christianity (btw - fairy tales in my opinion) is abnegation of physical things in favor of the spirit. The body is looked an as an enemy, and the body's needs a dangerous distraction from the path of holiness. The bible says:
'And if your right hand offend you, cut it off, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.'

Jeepers, there must be some different Bibles out there. I never read Jesus aka Christ quoted as saying that there was anything evil about one's body. Evil things he kicked out of bodies. And I always read about how he would tell everyone to treat each other well, not to harm or speak bad of others, how we were children of God made in his image, keep His Temple healthy etc.
Maybe that is a problem in the dating world. Women that believe in God and Jesus are somehow suppose to live by someone else's views on what a Christian is supposed to be, how they should be, what they should do, how they should dress, etc. and that is why it makes it easier to date a man that is also a Christian. No judging, just loving.

Women that believe in God and Jesus are somehow suppose to live by someone else's views on what a Christian is supposed to be, how they should be, what they should do, how they should dress, etc. and that is why it makes it easier to date a man that is also a Christian.
That is the doctrine of Christ Validator. Christianity means whatever anyone wants it to mean, which means it means nothing at all. This why I laugh about the idea that modern Americans are more religious today than ever - it's just lip service.
No judging, just loving.
Please recall that St Paul (I think) said 'It is better to marry than to burn.' So watch that pre-marriage lovin' lest you be judged. | |

They interviewed this couple that married in their late teens, immediately ran off to do missionary for work in Alaska then, went to South Central LA for more missionary work but eventually ended up staring in and producing porn and ran a successful business. Having someone look into your eyes and into your very soul is a very personal thing. It's far different than just a heated exchange of body fluids. You will find that deep emotional bond best with someone that has your same value system.
Just read some of the replies to these POF threads and you will soon find droves of others that do not share your value system. These people will flat out ridicule Christians at times being very rude towards the core values that guide us along the path of life. Any relationship with these types may create heat but not the magic. So, that is why women place a statement that you must love God. | |

Its usually written by "I have a hatred toward the world woman" which totally contradicts christianity anyway, and by woman who use that phrase to control and manipulate men instead of of loving and respecting their fellow human beings. I've never met a godly woman who has even come close to living that phrase, and real godly woman would rather serve the poor in Africa than date a men anyway. Of note the first 2 comandments of god are usually alwas broken by those who profess to know god...how ironic | |
