| What Is An Appropriate Punishment For Rapists And Child Molestors Posted: 5/27/2007 9:03:53 PM | Castration is inhumane. They are not monsters. Monsters don't exist. They are humans. I'm tired of this witch hunt on these people. I want no part of it. I wish people would put down their angry emotions for once and see this people as human beings who have civil rights like everyone else.
I don't think there is a balanced argument on this. The media, the politicians, etc. already declared them "uncurable". It's hard to offer any solution when they already made up their minds. And it's hard for these persecuted individuals to live in peace when there are people who want them dead.

| What Is An Appropriate Punishment For Rapists And Child Molestors Posted: 5/28/2007 3:56:42 PM | | ^^^ they are MONSTERS....I have a client who is 50 years old. He was molested as a child. This man will never have peace of mind. He is 100 lbs. overweight, still has nightmares.. and can not function around people. He is totally isolated... and all the therapy he has had, has not helped. Would anyone feel at peace if they had a child molester serve as a babysitter?.. I think not. | |

There is nothing you can do for these type of people...They are better off dead... and we are way better off, with them being dead...
I have NO empathy for these people...Kill them all....

| What Is An Appropriate Punishment For Rapists And Child Molestors Posted: 5/30/2007 3:52:21 PM | Just to play devils advocate here for a moment, I've been working in the court system for several years and the current issue to date that the legal system is facing is victim in these cases whom "cry wolf". As of right now, you can convict a sex crime defendant in any case with simply the victims testimony and very little evidence these days.
An old teacher of mine was recently accused of molesting two 13 year old students of his. They were best friends. Both of these girls were later to be found lying when evidence surfaced from their journals and evidence which contradicted their truths. Both of these girls got off, without anything but a lecture from the judge. This man however, his life was ruined being that it was in a small town. He lost his teaching credentials and had to move out of town.
This is not a rare case either. This is quite common.
But, imagine if evidence hadn't surfaced and he was convicted. He'd face 10-20 years in prison, and have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
And the worst part of it is, it's a smoke screen for the TRUE victims out there. Because of girls like that in the case mentioned above, it causes law enforcement and the courts to second guess EVERY single claim to molest or rape that they come across.
So, careful what you say about harsh punishment. I agree that it should be harsh if in fact it's a 100% fact that they did molest or rape someone. Thankfully, DNA evidence and SART examinations (Sexual Assault Response Team) are making it a lot easier to tell if in fact the indivual did commit the acts.
This is an article about a man who was charged and found guilty of rape and served 25 years, but later freed due to his innocence: http://www.nacdl.org/sl_docs.nsf/freeform/EyewitnessID027?OpenDocument "First the judge apologized, then the prosecutor. Finally, after 25 years in prison, 58-year-old Larry Fuller triumphantly walked out of the courthouse Tuesday a free man. "
Here is another article about who was locked up for 16 years for murder: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/biology/courses/c2005/articles/pcr.2.html
And that's just a couple of stories.
Here is an article that states 173 people have been released from death row due to a number of reasons, mostly that of being innocent since 1973. http://www.amnestyusa.org/Fact_Sheets/The_Death_Penalty_Claims_Innocent_Lives/page.do?id=1101086&n1=3&n2=28&n3=99
We have an imperfect system, and some of you here are talking about castration, torture, and murdering people whom are found guilty by 12 of our peers in this soceity.
Just some food for thought.

Then crucify the SOB before decay starts take "it" down and let the victem display their head on a steak in their front yard so they can watch the crows eat it. WOW, that is brutall! EXATLY what they deserve. I sure as shit don't want my tax dollars paying for the **stard to sit behind bars and watch TV and play cards. I don't know about the rest of you all. But to hell with that! ~S

| What Is An Appropriate Punishment For Rapists And Child Molestors Posted: 11/9/2007 7:35:42 PM | My solution would be to keep them incarcerated forever in a separate prison facility for people of this type. But let's not call it "prison". Let's call it something else. Something like "Concentration Facility."
These people don't need punishment if they did their time. And they are not monsters because monsters don't exist. They're human. And to keep them in prison forever after they did their time, would be inhumane and unjust. There should be a different rehab facility or "home" for these people.
Let's think logically not emotionally.

| What Is An Appropriate Punishment For Rapists And Child Molestors Posted: 11/9/2007 7:45:08 PM | | Not one of a sexual act??? How is it that we have so much child porn? It is every bit a sexual act with a little power and control thrown in! I think rehabilitation is not possible with certain people so keep them out of society for good! No death penalty.....make them suffer in jail! | |
