To get back to the OP...

Read a book called Monkeyluv by Robert Sapolsky if you are truly interested.

There is a great essay on genes and the environment. It is not about race/culture or evolution/survival of the fittest "genes".

But it gives a good introduction to the complex relationship our genes have iwth the environment. YOu just can't conclude it's all genetic, or it's all environment.

The truth is, it is a seriously complex interaction. And yes, I think this interaction does have an effect over time on what people w/different brains and different bodies are good at. Sometimes those bodies or brains will be more prevalent in certain racial groups, but again, it's the body and brain that are important, not the race. Being tall makes you a good basketball player, but not being AA. See the difference?

Here's an example of the interaction.
100 kids are physically abused while children. They grow up. Some of them grow up to be abusers themselves. Some grow up w/horribly low self-esteem and depression. Some grow up, go to college, don't abuse, and have happy fulfilled lives. Some grow up to spend their lives in jail for violent crimes.

They all came from the same neighborhood.

So what's the difference? Well... turns out that there is a personality factor called "resilience". It is the ability to bounce back from a hardship. Some people are "born" more resilient than others.

Some people were born with really high resilience. All of them turned out ok and had happy lives.

Some people were born just a little resilient. For them, half had a parent who removed them from the abuser and took them to see a child psychologist. They turned out ok. The other half spent 18 years getting beat from their drunk parents. They didn't.

And then some people were born w/no resilience... for those kids, it didn't matter one whit what their parents did or d idn't do to stop the abuse. none of them made it in the end to a successful life.\

This is totally made up (although resilience does exist and has been shown to make a difference in research). But the point is, it's an interaction b/t genetics and the environment. Not just one or the other. And I"m still WAY oversimplifying the complex work of our genes and how they affect how we turn out.

Jumping distance and burst speed is governed by fast twitch muscle more the better. Most of the slaves brought here were from the Northwest portion of Africa(Ivory Coast). They have a very portion of fast twitch muscles compared to slow twitch muscles. This is why the are good at most athletics events. By contrast, the best marathoners in the world come from a mountainous region of Ethiopia & Kenya. They have a very high percentage of slow twitch muscles compared to fast twitch muscles and lungs that have a high VO2 capacity.

^^She was talking about basketball, not track. You can cite all the research you want, doesn't change your bigoted opinions.

Your quote is exactly why people can't have an intelligent discussion about race. Unless white person says people of color don't achieve because white people won't let them achieve you are a bigot( or racists), which is BTW a word you miss use(it more fits your way of thinking) "you can site all the research you want" jeez!!!

Bigot Definition: A bigot is a person who is intolerant of opinions, lifestyles, or identities differing from his or her own, and bigotry is the corresponding ideology.

Last time I watch a basketball game(10:00 pm Monday night) I saw a lot of burst running and jumping.
