i got my license!! look out bass, here i come. i hope i don't catch a carp; i don't know how to get them off the line.
i think i'm better at ol' skool 'shoes then i am at bean bags....but i'll play either.
i would like to hit a trail and see the water while i'm there.
i can't get my son into fishing and believe me...i've tried!!

I am not sure about the general store, but their website says you can buy firewood and have it delivered right to your site! There is even a wireless hot spot there so we can check our email from fellow fishies while camoing, haha. We will be close to the Kankakee State Park, where they have horseback riding, canoeing, hiking trails. The KOa has basket ball courts, volleyball, a game room. It's a nice place and no one should be bored! Laurie | |

another question does anyone have any sleeping bags and tents for my friends that would be nice it would be for a good cause.Thanks so much

Nice to know you help a worthy cause, but you cannot bring 50 friends to this event. It is for POF members and their families and we don't have the space to accommodate your friends, sorry. saturday may 24th!! willowbrook ballroom!!! 70-80's dancing!!! music extravaganza!!! dance moves you thought you forgot!! (or should have), fabulous prizes for contestant winners!!! and lets not forget the fun...its a blast!! cmon out!!

lol...you guys crack me up. I don't have ANY camping gear whatsoever except my blowdryer and flat iron! lol. and i don't like touching worms let alone poking holes in them with a hook! lol. I am sure I don't have a tent....might be able to scrounge up a sleeping bag mmmmmaybe. So how am I supposed to go camping??????
I do, however, have tonsssss of firewood. I have close to a cord for my fireplace and firepit. When you camp, you are supposed to go chop a tree down, not PAY for firewood!!! Right? | |

yes take a reprieve and come out and play!!! you need to take the hi-way to get there. Take I 57 south to US 45/52 (exit 308) exit south and go 3 miles to 6000 s. road. make a left (east) and its half a mile down the road. Its about an hour from willowbrook. If you want you can come to my house and we can drive together from there. I'm going saturday too.

you know you like the outdoors....theres a 2 hour canoe trip down the road.....there might be some 'buff' bodies pulling in the canoes.....i doubt theres a life guard.......if so it'll probably be some twinkie eating kid on a summer tour...cmon wheres your sense of adventure? pack up those fire producing utensils you got and trail blaze with us!!

I love you ladies, we could have fun at Alcatraz! BlondeIndian, you must come! I have a 2 room tent, and its only me and the 8 yr old. My oldest and her bf have their own tent. There will be plenty of room for you. There is a huge pool at the campground!!! And my Radio Disney Dance CD you guys are gonna love, YMCA, ChaCha slide, Kung Foo Fighting, all the goodies. Did I mention Mach is coming at least on Saturday to Sunday? If you ladies are looking for a buff body, and a cute face........... ? I betcha Mach could even start a fire, and I did ask him to bring his badge....... you blushing Ron? It will be a blast, all are welcome and invited. I love campfires, an excuse not to do my hair and makeup (cuz I have to be all decked out for work every day!) I grew up in a farmhouse in a family of 10 people. Cutoffs, tubetops, and barefeet. I grew up gardening, canning, making jelly, you name it. As a kid we camped in the mountains..bathed in the stream and even "dug out a latrine" (quote from Muree). As a mom I have hiked with my kids, cooked every meal over an open fire on vacations, washed dishes in cold water in a dishpan on a picnic table, and I have even cleaned fish and cooked them! lol. It is just that I like change. I am not someone who wants to do the same and go to the same places over and over just so I can be in my "comfort zone". My ex, however, was. And his bark was pretty dang loud and annoying and I got tired of hearing it...and he was a nag if he didn't get his way. So I just always did what he wanted for the sake of having peace and quiet and never got to do anything I wanted to. Which meant....I tent camped and fished at the same palce EVERY year!!! Eventually, I just told him to start going for a couple of weeks every year with his friends on fishing trips and I stayed home with the kids. He wasn't a good babysitter, and so taking 4 small kids, 2 years and less apart, camping, was alot of work. But I will tell you this....If I had to make a campfire with a blowdryer and a flatiron...I BETCHA ANY MONEY I COULD!!! lol
Honestly just have been working alot and just cleared up a few major monkeys off of my back. And I am kind of enjoying kicking back at home right now smelling the roses with minimal stress and financial issues now that alot of stuff has been taken care of. | |

I like camping just to chill but i am used to staying in a 42 foot trailer (hotel away from home) i hope weather is good for the rest of us fishies that will be camping!!
I might have to bring a heater to plug into that long extension cord lol

I did reserve a couple of trailer sites for the group too, so if you want to bring your trailer, you are welcome to do so! Muree; great idea on the wiffle bat, I am thinking some games would be fun too like egg toss, etc. There is a pavillion the owner will let us use Saturday night for the group if we have 50 or more people at no charge. He also have a couple potrable pavillions he is going to set up down neear our group sites to use, he thinks they are 10X20. The owner is really great and working hard to make this a great event for us. I will be checking it all out with the kids this weekend, so I know what to expect too. Please sign up folks if you are going, I had a few people say they were going, but haven't signed up. Once you sign up, call the campground and get your site reserved fro you too. Emial me your family headcount. I will have 4 all together, Muree is 2, so that way I can keep track of number of people and ages to help plan activites. I can't wait........ Laurie | |
