| **SUMMER KIDDIE CAMP & FUN WEEKEND** 27th-29th June ~ CHICHESTER LAKESIDE Posted: 6/17/2008 3:16:27 AM | Pullmycrackers, shame you cant make it but i will try and give you more notice next time.
** JUST A QUICK MESSAGE FOR ANYONE WANTING TO BRING A DOG WITH THEM. **
I've phone the camp site and dogs are allowed but they charge £2 per night and should be kept on a lead at all times, although on a previous meet there was a dog there and it wasnt on a lead and no one said anything.
If anyone has any further queries please feel free to post on here or directly to myself or one of the other hosts and we will do are best to answer you as quickly as possible.

| **SUMMER KIDDIE CAMP & FUN WEEKEND** 27th-29th June ~ CHICHESTER LAKESIDE Posted: 6/17/2008 4:34:01 PM | Anngem and Bluespike we will all miss you, but the rest of us are not going to waste the efforts you have put in are we ????
No we are not. We are going to have fun and games a plenty. We have plenty of outdoor activities lined up and a few indoor ones just in case.
If any of you have a fave board game you could slip in your boot that we could nip down to the club house with to help ward off bad weather, that would be helpful. Or even when we have worn ourselves out running around having fun
You know pack a board game don`t need it cause the weather is good all weekend, leave it behind and it rains all weekend
Bringing a few disposable BBQ`s so when we are all roasting in the glow of the evening sun we can burn a few sausages (unfortunately not supplied), so you dad`s can take turns in showing off your cooking skills to the ladies
Have found a Rainbow coloured wind-sock which we will hang on a pole to mark where we are.
See you all there Roy | |

| **SUMMER KIDDIE CAMP & FUN WEEKEND** 27th-29th June ~ CHICHESTER LAKESIDE Posted: 6/22/2008 4:11:28 AM | Hi everyone,
I havent't signed up on here, to be honest a little shy/worried/nervous..... never done anything like this before!!, but have booked a pitch for the weekend for myself and my two boys. When I booked they were unable to tell me where I would be pitched or where anyone else was, so if you see a lost soul who has two kids and is struggling to put up a tent, please come and say hi
Looking forward to it

| **SUMMER KIDDIE CAMP & FUN WEEKEND** 27th-29th June ~ CHICHESTER LAKESIDE Posted: 6/22/2008 5:24:49 AM | dont worry caroline there is always someone else to help... i haven't put one tent up mysellf yet after attending three camp meets! and there are people to help 'watch' out for any little escapees...
the greatest thing about a camp meet is once you have got the kids to bed you can sit round the camp fire and chill... or in the case of the british weather right now... get wet and freeze! no seriously even if the weather isnt up to much there is always someone with a bigger tent to go and sit in!
the last time people pitched at the camp it was more a kind of 'western coral' so just look for the little huddle of tents and look out for the rainbow wind sock.
look forward to meeting you

| **SUMMER KIDDIE CAMP & FUN WEEKEND** 27th-29th June ~ CHICHESTER LAKESIDE Posted: 6/23/2008 10:25:57 AM | Hi there folks, not long now just until the end of the week.
Have put batteries on charge so we can get some pictures of our fun weekend.
Glad to see you are getting to know one another by chatting (if I am reading things right)
If any of you want a contact so you do not spend the weekend looking lost, you can message me and I will be happy to give you my mobile number so you can text when you get to the site.
I will be the one with the Rainbow windsock flying outside, (still need to sort out a pole, but it will be up) and Guzzler will not be too far away and may be sporting a green Mohican ( or so it was rumoured the other day)
Most of the time you are free to pitch where you like at these sites, but we do try to pitch in the same area each time other campers allowing. Also no-one will be upset if you want to camp away from the bunch.
The spot we try to get is found by turning left into the touring field (that is the one for tents and caravans escorted by cars) going past the toilet block until you reach the far end of that straight. As the road way then turns right is where we have camped in the past and is where we hope there will be space for us this coming weekend. Inside the corner and on the main green for non-electric hook-ups, on the grass verge outside for electric hook-ups.
Unfortunately this is not guaranteed so we will have to see what happens on the day.

| **SUMMER KIDDIE CAMP & FUN WEEKEND** 27th-29th June ~ CHICHESTER LAKESIDE Posted: 6/24/2008 7:31:04 AM | Thanks Lady Lou, hope you are have a good weekend planned.
Just checked the weather at the Weather Channel I use on the net and did a quick 10 day forecast for most of the areas I am aware of you coming from, and it seems that the weather will be much as it is today or better over the weekend. It also looks like some of us will be leaving the neighbours to BBQ in the rain while we have a sunny weekend.
That is how it looks at the moment.
Right have the flag pole sorted for the wind sock so it will be flying this weekend and it will be close to a grey tunnel tent just over waist high, just in case some else has one for the kids.
What a nightmare a field full of rainbow coloured windsocks

| **SUMMER KIDDIE CAMP & FUN WEEKEND** 27th-29th June ~ CHICHESTER LAKESIDE Posted: 6/25/2008 3:38:37 AM | Good to see people still signing up to come and join us for a weekend`s fun of camping.
If there is anything your not sure of, putting up of tents, lighting BBQ`s without losing eye brows, don`t worry there is always some to ask.
Campers are a happy lot and even if you were not coming to be in such a big group, total strangers are always happy to help a fellow camper in need.
Only 2 days now to get your bags packed , let your kids have a last splash in the bath before a weekend of showers only.
If your worried about food, there is a camp shop ( well stocked, although not a wide choice of goods, as in they have biscuits but might not have Hob Nobs ), cafe open through the morning and a couple of hours in the evening, approx 8am until 1pm and then 5pm until 7pm.
Also there is a Superstore nearby, as well as the local town.
So you only need to worry about food and drink for journeys, and until tents are up and you have time to nip out shopping, if your short on space in your mode of transport. You may also want to consider doing a food run between a few of you together, saving on petrol and parking spaces.
Otherwise raid your larders and save some cash, like me and use the shop for a few little extras, milk, bread etc.

| **SUMMER KIDDIE CAMP & FUN WEEKEND** 27th-29th June ~ CHICHESTER LAKESIDE Posted: 6/25/2008 3:58:19 AM | One little tip some of you might find handy.
If your thinking of bringing fresh meats for the BBQ with you and want to be sure they are fresh for Saturday, put them in the freezer and they will make extra ice blocks for putting in your cool box Friday and will be nicely defrosted by Saturday early Saturday evening.
Done this many times and works a treat.
Actually there is no reason why we can not light the BBQ Friday evening as well if you can wait until enough arrive so as to get max use out of them, just a thought ;-)
