anything other than ears (2-4 most) would be too much for me....I says....

so you shouldn't have more than ~10-11 holes on your body....(pierced ears included)

If you leak when you drink water then you may be overly pierced.
My opinion:
ears 4-5 each is okay,
nose = not unless you are on the cover of national geographic
tongue - what did you say, and WTF is the clicking sound that you keep making.
the hoop thru the lip is rediculous / little stud I can do without
belly button - okay if you got the belly for it. If your belly button jewery looks like a aerial shot of a hiker climbing out of the grand canyon, then lose the piercing and go to the gym.
other places - ummm why??? Especially guys. I got one hole in my unit. If it needed another it would have come with 2. Besides when will I ever need to piss around a corner?

Limeshines- I agree 9 in one ear would be excessive. I have a total of 9 divided between my earS. 3 in the lobe part of each and 2 cartilage in one and a single in the other.

What I love about piercings, and unlike tattoos, I can take everything out and wear a single pair of diamond studs and nobody would ever even know about the other piercings since mine aren't largely gauged.

excessive to me would be - nose, lip, eyebrow, tongue and corset piercing (huge-turnoff there). I don't mind lots on the ears and a belly ring but too many in weird places = no thanks.

Anything beyond one in each earlobe is excessive to me.

It's sadly rare, but refreshing, to see a young woman without piercings and tattoos for a change. Body mutilation does nothing for me, but then I'm just an old fuddy duddy, I guess.

If they get in my way they are excessive. I don't really find them attractive like I don't find the huge target tat above the plumber crack attractive. I'm not sure why people find these things attractive unless it does something for them alone.

A woman who gets her privates stabbed, cannot be trusted with mine. A pierced clit seems excessive to me. How bored are you to want to get something like that done... I always picture a tiny gnome using it as a door knocker. Boobs, look just fine without it. You women are deluded thinking you can make breast look better by metal. How many times have you ever heard a guy say, "Put it back on!" at a strip club when he sees a bare breast. True, it's rare you'll hear it with it pierced too, but why the trouble?

For my taste, anymore than one per ear is "excessive," anywhere but the ear lobes is "excessive."

But I'm "old school."

When it's crossed the line into wang bling, euw. Sorry, I just don't get it.

I have a nape, and I love it. I don't much care for facial piercings. And I am not piercing anything I might be using for procreational or recreational purposes, or not using in whatever case.

Man in my life lol. I seem to scare them off rather quickly these days.

Not criticizing, but maybe there's a connection?

Or whistling in the breeze freaks some out.

Personally a couple per ear max, on a woman. Anywhere else makes me cringe thinking how it would be if it got snagged and ripped out, swallowed, or inhaled. Or how the former site would look, after. Not to mention a couple reasons already mentioned.

For me its not how many its more along the lines of where the piercings are. Some places are acceptable and some are not. Acceptable: ears, bellybutton, tongue (maybe), nipple(s), maybe even down below ;-). Everywhere else nah. And no stuff like a nose ring with a chain to your ear ring ewwww. I don't want a g/f that has to strip every time we go through a medal detector in a airport. I don't want random dudes checking out my g/f. Sorry.

Nah I've never had a complaint about my piercings or looks, its more a personality thing of scaring people off before I can be left.
Check out my pics people all my piercings are visible, except the belly button and the nose stud is tiny rhinestone which is very hard to see, unless you look very closely.

If even your piercings are pierced, you've gone too far.

I used to know a girl who looked like she fell face first into a fishing tackle box. We affectionately referred to her as..... ...... yep, you guessed it........ Tacklebox.

When I was younger, I dated a woman who had her navel pierced; it became infected and smelled really bad. I still haven't quite shaken that association with pierced navels. The same woman also had piercings running up her ears but had to have them removed when the cartilage started leaking out of the holes. Guess I'm not so fond of most piercings after all that.

Where's the emoticon that shows the little smiley face turning green and puking his guts out?

Eh as long as they're tasteful I could care less. To that end, I'm not really a big fan of nipple, eyebrow, or lip piercings...

got a Prince Albert

I have seen one of those, at a resort thingy I went to one time. It hurt me just to look at it.

I have always wondered if it means anything when a woman shows you her tongue piercing or if she is just doing it by accident.

My beautiful daughter pierced her cheek (face) and I thought it was a zit at first. I'm used to it now.

Excessive is when they walk by an electro-magnetic door lock and stick to it.

It depends on if the person is a stranger, a date, a girlfriend, etc...What I consider excessive piercings is more than two for someone I am bonding with. Strangers I couldn't care less.
For someone I am dating I can understand two as sometimes parents pierce their kids ears before they even have a choice in the matter.
If I am with someone I like to sometimes kiss their ear, nose, mouth, vagina, belly, lip...I wish to taste them, feel them, to experience them. It's kind of a turn off when all I get is a coppery, steely, metallic taste in my mouth and perhaps chip a tooth. It's also not fun when on a date at a Mexican food restaurant and I have to run around looking for some milk or ice cream when they get some jalapeño in the tongue post hole and we have to avoid it in the future. Mexican food is highly important to me.

I draw a distinction between pierced ears and other kinds of piercing. I don't know if that's because pierced ears are so common or if it's because I know that a pierced earlobe is much less likely to get infected than pierced cartilage. But tongue piercing, nose piercing, nipple or navel piercing; these I put in an entirely different category. These acts seem like mutilation of the body to me. A Nose piercing! Gross!!! Isn't it rather dangerous because of the risk of infection? Medical issues aside, what is the appeal here? Is it a mark of personal courage? A demonstration of the ability to endure pain? I can kind of understand what your saying, if that's the case. But why is there a need to communicate such a message? Is it a mark of the suffering times we live in? I personally find viewing faces that are pierced to be an unpleasant, a jarring kind of experience and excessive.

yeah a good question , agree alot of girls have piercings these days so having the ones you mentined wouldn't count as excessive by my standards. just about every girl or every other girl has at least one piercing somewhere other than her ears . like belly button or nose .
so maybe excessive might be piercings like lip stud or eyebrow ring . or something really unusually . or alot on the ears like more than 7-8 per ear if that is possible . but haven't seen too many that i'd say had excessive piercings but most of the girls i know have body piercings but usually just in usually places i noted .

Excessive piercings don't change who the person is. Its all about personal preference. I've dated someone who had 14 piercings, nose, tongue and ears. I've dated someone who only had one earing in each ear. I myself have 7 ear piercings and I'm covered in tattoos. I wouldn't like to be judged because of that.

I think I can deal with earings, belly and nose. Anything else would have to be a decided on how they person looked with them and where they were, and how many there were.

Excessive piercings is anything beyond one piercing per ear. Anything after that only makes a human appear as if they were in a Tackle Box Explosion.

Anything beyond the ears is excessive to me. I don't think anything more or less about people who have excessive piercing, I just prefer a more classic feminine look. But if I like her, then hey whatever.

I think that there is no limit to the number of piercings a person can get as long as they are able to carry them well. I have 6 in my left ear, 2 in my right ear and 2 on the right side of my lip- one ring and one stud. I love the way all my piercings look, and have gotten complimented on them from all types of people, from my generation up to 80 year old women. It all matters on personal preference. I also have 4 tattoos, planning on 2 more, but they also are all small and tasteful, 3 in spots not seen in everyday life. The main point is not to let anyone else tell you how to use your body, or how to make it your own.

Rock On
