OP, as others have noted, I am sure you meant well but you apparently live in a bizarre world in which individual males and females actually live up to, well many things.
In my case, I would greet my husband at the door, for quite a while actually, and the response I got was leave me the fuk alone I am hot and tired. So I stopped asking how his day was, figured if he wanted to chat he knew where I was.
When he came into the kitchen it was not to give me a hug it was to grab my crotch while my hands were full of whatever part of the dinner preparation I was in the middle of, apparently that was foreplay so as far as I was concerned after about 10 years of such fabulous romance I hoped his semen backed up all the way to the top of his head to blow some sense into it.
Men and women should walk beside each other, with neither ahead or behind. Sure, there are times when one or the other leads based on what he/she is good at. If both parties are considerate, respectful and loving, there is your answer, it is not women acting in a particular way or men acting in a particular way. When you care about someone, you actually want to have sex, and the semen backing up thing, which of course is a crock of shit to begin with because men do have the ability to ejaculate without having sex, becomes a non-issue.
It is also helpful to find someone with whom you are actually compatible, to take responsibility for your life instead of letting it happen to you. To abandon finding hormonal attraction and then trying to put a square peg into a round hole for however many years it takes you to figure out that as a couple, you are never going to work.
Oh, and the whole Bible thing, well color me a cherry picker. It was written by men in a patriarchical society with mores created by men. It assumes that the man is actually a good hard-working man and not an idiot or a drunk, or bipolar, or a womanizer. I know many women that would love to have a man to lead them but instead they are responsible for everything because the man is in the corner feeling sorry for himself. | |

Op: All folks "mirror" each other to an extent. When being loved and nutured, in most cases, that loving and nuturing is returned. When being neglected, or treated with indifference.. then that is what will be mirrored back. (if not immediately, then eventually) Your post puts the onus on women to maintain a healthy loving relationship no matter what is being mirrored to us. I suspect there'd be a lot less backed up dangly bits between those taller legs in this world if both parties were mirroring in a loving and nuturing manner.

As girls we always had our nails done, hair primped, swam in bubbles in the tub, had someone EVERY morning brush my hair and have an outfit that matched. The time spent with my Mother one on one was a copius amount of time.
no offense.....not sure what world you lived in, but i was never pampered with my nails/hair. my clothes were never layed out...
my mom would turn the light on and sing "shit, shower, shave and go" over and over and over and over, until i got out of my bed. LOL
