I dare say OP was talking about confession as in "admitting" ones guilt."
Actually, I'm suggesting "confession" as opposed to "rumour".
This has nothing to do with religion. It has everything to do with unsubstantiated third-party hearsay.
OJ has not confessed. Someone wrote a book saying he confessed. There is a WORLD of difference there.
