If you want to get technical, the Patriot Act is neither a misnomer or an oxymoron. It's an acronym. "Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism."

How incredibly convenient!
There are several new 'Acts' in the pipeline, I can hardly wait for the acronyms to start appearing in the press, and perhaps in these forums.

I guess it was just a lucky coincidence the first time that the acronym turned out to spell 'PATRIOT'.

Nobody mentioned "Jumbo Shrimp"

Don't forget this one too "military intelligence". I heard that one from George Carlin once.

And you have the nerve to accuse liberals of believing everything that they hear or read? WOW. Not that's oxymoronic.

did you not detect the sarcasm in that statement? I didn't think I could lay it on any thicker.

Musical taste is subjective, but I will say this: 80's dance-pop music is a total oxymoron. That racket is the most annoying form of "music" I have ever heard. I love all other genres of music except this noisy aberration from the 80s which thankfully was nothing but a fad!!
