| Should The Yorkshire Ripper Be Released From Prison?... Posted: 7/13/2008 5:00:50 PM | Peter Sutcliffe was sentenced to 20 life sentences in 1981 and told he would serve a minimum of 30 years. He killed 13 women and attempted to kill anothe 7.
If he only serves his minimum sentence he would be free by 2011..that is just unthinkable. Of course he should never be freed...whether he has been cured of his mental problems or not the public would not tolerate him being at large again. No home secretary would dare release this monster.

Saint Ripper - wasn't that the patron saint of claw hammers?
The guys obviously a grade A brain cuckoo, god telling him to kill women (he's a bugger that god bloke), and we want to kick him to death outside the prison gates. Anyone with mentally disturbed children, parents, family, friends, get rid now, they may turn violent any minute.
or
Yes, he has proven to be a grave danger (n.p.i.) in open society, thus cannot be trusted to roam unchecked. There are many like him, just without a catchy title, therefore they are released on license, with only the shirt on their backs and the crazed venom in their hearts.
or
Lets campaign newspapers to stop giving voice to these miscreants. Lets boycott all mention of Huntley/Brady/Sutcliffe et al, they are in prison, for heinous crimes and should not be given any publicity, leave them endure their monotonous existence without upsetting the victims families any further.

| Should The Yorkshire Ripper Be Released From Prison?... Posted: 7/15/2008 10:46:57 AM | Some background on the case (via Wikipedia):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Sutcliffe
He willingly set out to murder those women, and did not claim that he was ordered to do it 'by God' until several weeks after his arrest. Some of his victims survived (although suffering horrendous injuries) and the daughter of one of his victims committed siucide after years of being teased about the fate of her mother.
There is no question about his guilt, and he willingly confessed to his crimes (as well as others the police were not aware of at the time). EDIT: He was also deemed sane to stand trial.
Now he's going through hell and wants out.
Well boohoo, cry me a f*cking river.
