Either way, I have to agree.
Anything you don't have to cook for yourself is an indulgence. | |

| What is your biggest self-indulgence? Posted: 5/21/2008 4:12:52 PM | For me the greatest freedom is an open road and driving away for the weekend or longer. With the price of diesel now, it is a real indulgence I now have to save for. Rick. | |

| What is your biggest self-indulgence? Posted: 5/22/2008 3:52:58 AM | Getting on a hell long flight to the other end of the globe Being exhausted half way there and knowing there is still half way to go Seeing Oslo as we fly in and starting to smile Running through through the airport gathering up toblerone and baccha gabrielsen cognac...then hitting a flight to Tromso. One more flight change and I'm home. Then....
Walking off a plane into a frozen wilderness Catching the bus into the settlement Smiling and waving at familiar faces And walking uphill for another 2 km to the dorm Throwing my backpack on the bed, opening the window and then downstairs Sitting on the landing having a ciggy and a steaming cup of tea And just....breathing And smelling things
Then off for a stroll down hill to base camp Walking through the place and feeling the rough walls and then
Finding out if Jason is still there and wants to take the dog team for a run in the high country, white out, powder snow, no humans. And if the mad Swede with the house trained Iceland ponies is still there or taking the summer season in Antarctica. Then walking 20 paces to the only shop, supermarket, post office ....well kind of everything really....and buying a carton of milk and some candles. Then back to the dorm. Put supplies inside. And go sit on the steps on the landing and 'just breathe'
Feeling all the fragmented parts of myself slowly coming back to where they belong...
And if thats not possible this week? Turn off all the lights Put on some celtic music Run a deep hot bath (with bubbles and some nice oils) Light a dozen small candles Pour a glass of champagne And stay there til I feel like coming out....
