| Obama Image? Does he need Help? Sweetie Posted: 5/15/2008 3:32:03 PM | [quote[Here comes the Ignorance Movement again. In the late 70s when Republicans decided to pander to religious people with 'values issues' they knew what they were doing. It worked splendidly and ever since then we keep hearing smart is bad and dumb is good. For our own sakes, every president should be the cream of the crop. We just spent 7 1/2 years learning just how lousy a stupid president can be with the help of his stupid base of support.
wow, this truly is one of the strangest comments I have ever seen. there is just no point or rational thought to it. I made a comment about politicians being elitists and this is the reply??? whatever you're smoking, I want some. next time, you should consider reading what I wrote. it's quite simple, all politicians are elitists. not education is bad. however, since you bring it up, maybe barack is so smart because of the private, non government, education he got. what do ya think? I like bob barr and ron paul, both with much more education than barack obama, so next time, read before you make an attempt to make someone look bad.
thanks, better luck next time and thanks for playing the feud.

Ivy League Educated, got his way with Congress, Courts, Military, Two Elections, refuses to have his people testify before congress, gave friends no bid contracts, admits to breaking laws.......... more, more....
Name another President that got so much....
He was only denied the ability to steal Social Security....

You seem to be making my points for me so I'm not sure what it is you wanna argue. I agree, he's been our lousiest president and in my opinion his supporters are ignorant. Btw, a working majority in Congress is not a simple majority.

| Obama Image? Does he need Help? Sweetie Posted: 5/15/2008 4:23:24 PM | | He does not need help. So he said sweetie? How would she of liked it if he called her a pain in the arse which she probably was. We are quickly becoming the stupidist country ever, lacking common sense as the primary culprit. He's got my vote but I know it will be a tough run.. W's record since he got in office. Gas was 1.44 a gallon and now it's over 4 dollars. Invaded Iraq, look at the increasing prices of food. Slow economy and some say recession(Bruce Williams). Who has really benifited since he became president. People need to wake up ! | |

He never called anyone sweetie.
Don't be so sure!
How many times did gay porn star Jeff Gannon have a sleepover at the White House?

| Obama Image? Does he need Help? Sweetie Posted: 5/16/2008 7:51:29 AM | I think people are missing the context of the “sweetie” comment here and instead of trying to understand why some people may find it offensive everybody just jumps to try and defend Obomba by bashing Bush, ugh … Bush isn’t running for office (just in-case you missed the memo) so let’s forget the BDS for a minute and actually look at Boobama and his issue with being considered an elitist and how the “Sweetie” comment hurts him.
First let us look at the context of how the word might be used. 1) Your sitting in a café having breakfast and coffee, the waitress comes up and says “ Hey sweetie you need that coffee warmed up a bit ?” Ok in this context the word is used in an endearing manner and most people are not going to be offended.
2) A professional woman, a reporter in this case, shouts out a question (like I’m sure a-lot of reporters do) and she is essentially dismissed and demeaned with a wave of the hand and a “Just a minute there sweetie” and nobody understands why in this politically correct environment we find ourselves living in, a large number of women are offended by this ?
Are you people really that clueless ? or have you drank so much of the Oboma Kool-aid your simply blind to any misstep he makes ?
This once more makes him look elitist, and worse, it hurts him with the liberal feminazis that currently are Hillary supporters, whose votes he will need in the general if he actually gets the nomination.
People are starting to figure out that once the teleprompter goes off, if he opens his mouth chances are he’s going to insert one or perhaps even both feet.

| Obama Image? Does he need Help? Sweetie Posted: 5/16/2008 7:56:39 AM | Uh . . . I'm not an Obama supporter. In fact, I'll vote for McCain instead of him.
I'm a Hillary supporter, but not a feminazi (whatever the hell one of those is).
Most Hillary supporters are not going to vote for Obama. Over half said they wouldn't, and of those around a third will vote for McCain.
So it doesn't matter if he calls a reporter "sweetie" or if he calls her "your most serene highness", he still isn't getting those votes.
Personally I don't like it when strangers call me sweetie, dear or honey, but in the scheme of things it's not all that important.
|
| Obama Image? Does he need Help? Sweetie Posted: 5/16/2008 3:11:06 PM | | I think this was way overblown. I mean what the hell is so wrong with what he said to that reporter. How is calling her sweetie soo offensive to the point that the media has to make something out of nothing and turn it into something like as if he called her a b**ch? I mean, last time I checked, calling someone 'sweeite' relates to a lovable or generous person. | |
|
| Obama Image? Does he need Help? Sweetie Posted: 5/16/2008 3:28:25 PM | | SteelCity, it just goes to show you that they will glom on to any crumb of anything they think they can find to make Obama look bad. They meaning the media, not you guys. But....... | |
|
| Obama Image? Does he need Help? Sweetie Posted: 5/16/2008 4:07:49 PM | There's been so many bullshit "gates" it's sickening. I doubt so many people even know that candidates have policies anymore.
God, I so hope Obama doesn't wear white after Labor Day because my God that'd be the final nail in the coffin for him. That just would NOT be allowed to stand. WhiteafterLaborDaygate.
It's been said and quoted that the reporter doesn't care one iota about being called "sweetie". Has anyone seen a video of it? It sounds like someone else was in the middle of a question or he was in the middle of answering one.
|
| Obama Image? Does he need Help? Sweetie Posted: 5/16/2008 4:31:37 PM | You know, when some guy I don't know or have met in passing calls me something like Sweetie or honey, I just call him Sugar Butt or Little Fella and it's all good, they get the point really quickly. I'm pretty sure this is another "open mouth, insert foot" comments, and although I'm not an Obama fan, you really have to give the guy a break on this one, for goodness sake, he's probably really really tired. | |
|
| |
| Obama Image? Does he need Help? Sweetie Posted: 5/17/2008 3:16:22 PM | You know, I know this is old news now but so is what I'm about to regurgitate.
Why are people freaking out about Obama calling a reporter "sweetie" when no one freaked out about Hillary slamming down shots at a local tavern? I'm not sure I'd want an alcoholic for president.........
|
| Obama Image? Does he need Help? Sweetie Posted: 5/17/2008 3:25:07 PM | Here's where I find the problem.
Obama and the Dems. screamed foul when Obama was referred to as 'that boy'.
Now, in the context the comment made, it was pretty clear it was meant his lack of experience in Congress... his youth. But, Obama, etc. ranked it as a racist remark.
Then, Obama calls a female Reporter 'sweetie' and it's AOK with Obama and the Dems... in their mind. Go figure.
They caught hell for it and apologized of course.
IMHO, that's why the remark is garnering such attention.
Butttt, I could be wrong. Probably not though.

I think this was way overblown. sure, this was "overblown" IF the reporter was under 10-
but have no fear, Obama has called and apologized for his faux pas and doesn't he look handsome with that new flag pin on his lapel
|
| Obama Image? Does he need Help? Sweetie Posted: 5/17/2008 8:17:02 PM | The flag pin is interesting to say the least.. That's not a FLIP-FLOP is it?? heh heh.. Nahhh.. Surely not!
But maybe the reporter WAS sweet? I mean, it's possible!
In any case though, it was a poor choice of things to do, and I'll betcha Michelle O. read him the Riot Act, in no uncertain terms! He's not likely to do anything like that EVER again!!
But we've got to consider, Barack is involved in political OJT. He didn't know what was politically a good or bad thing to do. He's just now learning the ropes.. Just like he'll be doing in the White House! Mostly running the country by way of trial and error..
We've got to cut him some slack..
