| Picking up men in a bookstore? Posted: 5/15/2008 7:23:31 PM | | I once started a conversation with a man next to me at the lunch counter. His food arrived first and I said, "that looks good." He glared at me, and stabbed his yolk. My breakfast couldn't arrive fast enough and I couldn't wait to get out of there! You only need a few of those to make you a little gun-shy. No wonder so many men just don't do it anymore - I mean, who needs that! | |

| Picking up men in a bookstore? Posted: 5/15/2008 7:57:03 PM | | Ok, this is pretty interesting. I have to tell this story. Ok, I met a guy on my way to my 10th year high school reunion. I was all decked out in my red dress and he was in his V.W. and we were on the freeway and I looked over and he looked at me and we just started flirting and one thing led to another and there I was pulling over to meet him. I told him I was on my way to my high school reunion and I'd meet him afterwards at a night club we both knew about. We met. If ya wanna know more I'll have to write a book...LOL...I have never met a guy this way except for that one time...Ya know. just when ya least expect it. | |

| Picking up men in a bookstore? Posted: 5/15/2008 7:57:35 PM | Wait.... what section is that under? I didn't know you could purchase people at bookstores, this must be a new option.
Are they smallish or compact men... like tote size.... or fun size? I mean, it would be hard to carry around a 190 pound dude...
the giggleparts - The sky people told me stuff... important stuff.

So I picked up 'Ulysses' and blushed as I thought of the last paragraph, and he picked up: ATLAS SHRUGGED! AEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! To quote Monty Python and the Holy Grail: RUN AWAYYYYYYYY! So I'd TOTally try it again, and pray I don't attract another libertarian.
I'm sure he felt the same way if you told him what you thought of his selection. "Whew! That was a close one!"

Dang, I hang out at Barnes and Noble and Books a Million all the time, I love to read........... but I must be doing something terribly wrong here , because all I seem to attract there are the geeks looking at the Dating for Dummies manuals in the computer section!!

I was confused by this post as well. I thought to myself, What does that have to do with the price of tea in a book store these days but I figured I'd say something about an interesting way I "met" a man...I love book stores too but never met a man at one. I was thinking by the writing that she had met somebody at a "diner". Maybe the post should have said something like "Picking up men in a diner".

| Picking up men in a bookstore? Posted: 5/15/2008 8:49:04 PM | | It does feel kind of weird when a girl asks you out. I think its a nice surprise though. My ex-girlfriend asked me out at church. I was sitting in THE FRONT ROW and she passed a note down to me asking if I could take her out on a date Tuesday. I could not believe it. | |

| Picking up men in a bookstore? Posted: 5/15/2008 9:00:23 PM | | Yeah we had a good first date even though she brought along her kid. That was the first date I went on where someone brought their baby. That was weird but I didn't have anything better to do. Some people would probably think that she was desperate just because she was a single mom, but I didn't think so at the time. She was very beautiful and talented but just had some psychological problems (which I found out later on). I just figured that she asked out at church because she was a go getter. I don't see nothing wrong with that. The only thing that bothered me was that I was sitting in the front row! The audacity! You in God's house girl! That's crazy...she could've waited till I got out. | |
