It's to my understanding that gravity is a law which cannot be broken, at least according to Newtonian physics.

Maybe in the realm of quantum mechanics, gravity doesn't apply, which now that I think about it, doesn't make sense either, because light will eventually bend due to gravity.

I watched that documentry on that guy John Hutchinson and his unexplainable effects. I like to think the backyard inventor can still discover amazing things. I'm always trying to think of problems and solutions.

However, that being said, with his limited understanding of the physical world, I don't htink he'll ever discover anything. He's kind of a quack. His entire living room full of radio equipment from army surplus stores.

All he apparently does is tinker with various devices until something happens. Even his recorded effects could have been modified.

It's like that guy who claims to have invented a perpetual motion machine. Impossible according to the laws of nature, but he says it's possible.

I am not one to ever say NEVER I think that is just naive. My grand father apparently didn't believe man landed on the moon. However I think both of these men are trying to force a round peg into a square hole.

Certainly, one day, anti-gravity will be achieved (and perptual motion) but it won't be with current day techniques, it'll be something way out there, probably in the realm of nano-technology.

If the Hutchinson effect is real it's probably being caused by some random combination of radio/magnetic waves which possibly introduce some other unknown force, which would make studying and observing the behabiors very difficult if not impossible with todays technology and understandings of the way the world works.

With centuries of research, by the greatest minds on the planet we're still no closer to even understanding what gravity is, let alone what conduit it operates in or what powers it so I think we're a long way off creating anti gravity.

Semi-conductors do offer an interesting line of research with their ability to levitate/counteracting gravity but then again, we don't fully understand what's happening.

When it gets down to the nitty-gritty, understanding the forces within atoms fully would be a great starting point which is why governments spend fortunes on particle accelerators....it could ultimately lead to the understanding of everything.

Personally, I thing there will be another layer beneithe quarks and nutrinos etc etc and maybe another beneithe that but who knows, we might get there in the end.

Now one thing about the effect he did, its made NASA and many others come to him and document what he is doing to work on it themselves. Now if he was not on to something i dont think they would have bothered. THe Gov't even came in and took his Equipment away from him for no reason at all. Just as they had done to John Searl with is SEG. Now why in the world why the Gov't even care what these men were doing unless of course they were trying to understand it themselves.

Anyways from what i been gathering the germans were the ones who been working on this since the 40's and its started with some kind spinning bell of some kind. Here are some links of reference

There is a small flaw here in using electromagnetic fields ,
children and some elderly have been adversely effected living under powerlines of high power areas due to the inadvertant fields created.
you will note that home prices are somewhat lower if the home is under or close to high power lines.
whats all this got to do with antigravity disscussions is that even if one does make something capable of doing such it could well prove to be a potential problem for the testing such a craft as the effects might be shown only in the long term...
still they are doing amazing things with superconductors this day and age.

Just like the people in California right now saying they are allergic to WiFi

If you could be adversely affected by electro-magnetic fields, you'd be dead right now. Our planet is surrounded by a massive and powerful one. When lightning strikes it creates a large and powerful one, yet the damage that comes from lightning is from electrocution and heat.

I think as far as anti-gravity goes, electro-magnetics are the only viable option until someone finds a way to do the effect described in "Andromeda", reducing an objects mass by a very large factor. In which case you wouldn't be removing gravity effect from that object, but dampening it enough to be negligible.

You know what your talking about....so here it is.....they have this craft that runs with no sound no fumes and glides takes off with a puff of wind....and has robotic scouts under the belly of these new crafts..and we do have the tech....its amazing how much the govt can hide but when Texas seen this conflict....thousands of people and ect...thats like watching the lightening bug it goes up for some reason and then comes down for another? Ever watch them? Makes you really think...

Who ever said we needed anti gravity ?? I think it would work similar to buoyancy. Think of it like a ship in a bottle floating on a river, the bottle floats because the air is less dense than the water. So all we have to do is create a large enough vacuum bubble surrounding the ship (or whatever) in order for it to offset it's weight relative to the atmosphere. Then slight magnetic field adjustments will produce movement in whichever direction we desire.

Correct and an excellent observation and analysis. It's also in agreement with eclipse data which shows the bending of starlight by the sun.

Anyone looking for a good factual read on this very subject should look at this. The author was a writer/reporter for Janes (Defense Industry Magazine). The title of the book is "The Hunt for Zero Point". Here is a link:
http://www.amazon.com/Hunt-Zero-Point-Classified-Antigravity/dp/0767906276

Really enjoyed this one. Laid down a good time line of when and where the research started, and where it is now. If you have not read this title yet, please do. You will not be disappointed!

Better yet here is a review of the book, which is quite good. Gives you an idea of the book. I never had any idea bout this book so now im curious.

And yet here is a quick look at the book itself

i think there is a download of PDF file at bottom to get and read....

Thanks
